You should go in to politics!!! It's a simple question....who do you think Falkirk will take points from that ICT will not?
  2. I forget exactly which set of rules/regulations it's in, but for the SPL and all-seater stadia then people have to be admitted to a specific seat. This removes the ability for them to provide general admission areas.

I'm in no doubt , Falkirk will pick up points soon ! That's as may be.....but you still haven't answered the question.....where will they pick up 4 more points than us?

Try looking at it this way......Where are Falkirk going to pick up 4 more points than us?
  5. Given the fact that you think there's some humour in calling someone gay then I'll happily play a Nursery Rhyme at the next match which should be more in keeping with your age range. Do you have a particular favourite or do you want to leave the choice up to me?
  6. If I can get a full season under my belt then I intend retiring to my own private island on the proceeds.
  7. Certain songs for certain things are "fixed" for various reasons and can't just be changed on a whim. Bit of a pain at times, but I can understand the reasoning. It is something we will be looking at for next season though and I will keep this suggestion in mind.
  8. Can't say that either give me a semi!!!
  9. Problem yesterday against Hamilton was that they crowded the middle of the park and made it impossible to play the ball through and had to look to going round or over. By the end of the game we were 5 up front and playing long diagonal balls forward and actually looking like we were getting somewhere....but then Hamilton just switched to 5 at the back and cancelled us out there too. It's the kind of thing we were doing against teams when we first got in to the SPL...keeping it stuffy/tight and closing down quickly then hoping to catch a bit of luck at the other end. Given Butcher hasn't had all that long with the squad, and that he had a lot to undo before he could stamp his own mark then I think we're getting on not too bad, and I think Butcher is correct....at times yesterday we were too quick to ping the ball into the area...often finding that we had nobody there to receive it. I believe that's the point he was getting at.....our guys need to show a little more confidence in holding the ball a fraction longer in order that supporting players can get into position.
  10. If they had McArthur....then they listened to me. If they had something else, then they were probably having the same trouble I was with reading the numbers on the back of the Hamilton strips. They really were impossible to read and I was having to rely on the numbers on the shorts, which only appears on one side, is tiny and impossible to read when players are on the opposite side of the pitch. In terms of "improving things" I have taken a note to get some binoculars for future games.
  11. OK, I'll come clean on the Barrowman sub announcement. Despite him being our player, and even given the fact I had the team line-ups written in front of me....I had a total blank as to wtf his first name was. My apologies to Simon Barrowman if my brainfart came across as me being less than enthusiastic about his coming in to the game. At least nobody spotted that I got the Hamilton Goalscorer wrong!!!
  12. I won't accept 100% as that means we can't make any improvement....and we know we can, and we will.
  13. Not as tempted as I was to make an announcement that I had forgotten to include the Ref in the Hamilton Team line-up .....or to tell Hamilton to get the finger out when making the double substitution :thumb04:
  14. I can't hear the music/mic/crowd from where I'm doing the announcing (next to the police box which is all but sound proof), this makes it practically impossible for me to talk over the music and know that it's coming across clearly, so the safest way is to all but cut the music to talk.....not ideal, but until we can find a reliable way to keep a real-time check on levels there's not much can be done about it unfortunately. Darren (from the club) and I have been taking notes of these wee niggles with the full intention of looking at practical solutions and ways of improving things. Some things will be quick fixes, others will require more thought and work. Hopefully by the season end we'll have a good handle on both the technical foibles and the presentation which will allow us to hit the ground running next season. As I've said, keep the feedback coming. I'll answer the questions that I can and take on board any (constructive) comments anyone wishes to make.
  15. I played a larger variety of music today and the general feedback so far has been positive. The HT music was a couple of requests I'd had in connection with the Birthdays and stuff...but I shall endeavour to fit a couple of newer tracks in there in future if that's what people want. I can't always guarantee to play what everyone asks for, but feel free to throw ideas at me and provided they're not too far out there, then I'll do what I can. Glad the announcements are coming across clear. I've got a big (rather deep) voice anyway, and that seems to be suiting the system at the Stadium. Keep the feedback coming.
  16. If people think they can go stir the chit on other forums and then come back here and hide behind the moderators then they had better think again.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/s...rem/8004397.stm Looks like they want to do a u-turn on the increased money they agreed with the SPL at the end of last year!!! Aside from the immediate impact of less money than clubs might have been counting on, I think it will also re-ignite a push towards a 10 tier top league so they can share the pie among fewer teams.
  18. Tough call
  19. What's always baffled me is that Barrowman is allegedly on a very similar financial package as Marius was on. Doesn't make sense when you consider that ICT told us Marius had to be let go for financial reasons. I think the truth probably lies closer to the fact that ICT saw the chance to make a quick buck from punting Marius, but then proceeded to make a right royal mess of the whole thing. We then allowed Barrowman to hold us to ransom because we'd stripped out all the strikers from the team and had very few options left towards the end of the window.
  20. I'm not one for naming stands after people (what happens when you run out and the next "fitting" person passes?), and it also does away with the possibility of generating revenue through sponsorship....however, if it's to be named then I doubt many would argue with it being done to mark the contribution of Jock McDonald.
  21. The irony of me calling players a refs "Fat" is often lost on some people.
  22. The problem is, if the club start reducing ticket prices too often then it devalues Season Tickets and could impact on future sales. Also, let's say the club decided to reduce ticket prices for the last 4 home games to a tenner....how would all those who'd purchased one of the 4 game tickets feel at having been charged more just before hand? As I understand it, a recent survey/investigation of some sort was done across the UK looking at whether or not reducing ticket prices works for clubs, and although I don't have the full details I believe only one example existed within that of where a club halved ticket prices and saw double the crowds as a result. Since clubs can't afford to be loosing existing revenue then the simple fact is that they can't afford to reduce ticket prices. What's the answer? If they can't reduce ticket prices (without taking a financial hit) then they have to look at adding value....and I guess it's up for discussion as to how they achieve that.
  23. To be honest, I actually think it's been a bit the other way more than a few times recently where Lionel has been the one saving the bacon of others in defence. Highlights from weekend show a prime example of it, it happened against St Mirren and it was his attempt to cover a missed ball in through the middle that resulted in it bouncing off his leg and setting up the goal.
  24. Kermit can feck off!!!

I see where you're coming from Manny, but with our goal difference already looking horrendous and a chance that it could matter at the end of the day then I don't think we can afford to be going silly away from home and risking further results like the 4-0 at Falkrik.....and if we can play stuffy and grind out a point then that's what needs to be done. We've got ourself to the edge of the mire, it's now about keeping things tight and avoiding the slip backwards. It's not pretty, it's not entertaining and it is extremely frustrating....but needs must, IMO. We can perhaps afford to have more of a go at the teams around us (and should be doing so). I think we did that against St Mirren, although we got off to a slow start, and I would expect us to do the same again against Hamilton....after that then it's about seeing how things sit post-split.
