  1. Without knowing the full details of the trust and it's current financial situation it is hard to determine whether it would be financially prudent or indeed of any actual benefit for us to have the stadium ownership passed back to the club. The Stadium is under the stewardship of people who have proven themselves open, honest and trustworthy in terms of dealings with the club and the status of the trust offers certain financial concessions which make it extremely beneficial as a means of servicing the debt. I'm sure that should the need/opportunity present itself for TCS to be moved to a more desirable location then the club would face no problems whatsoever in dealing with the trust on the matter. I am very much of the opinion that the Stadium will indeed move in the next 5 years or so, or plans will at least be in place for the move. I am also very much of the opinion that the completion of the bypass will determine it's location, although I feel that it may find itself on the other side of the canal, perhaps around the location of the old quarry at the other side of Torvean Golf Course.

  3. It doesn't matter what money is spent on, you will always find those who will be able to provide a list of "more worthy causes". We enjoy a pretty good standard of living in Inverness on the whole and if I'm totally honest I don't think spending ?250,000 on fireworks in a one off event is much to grumble over. All work and no play etc etc. Enjoy the display for what it is, and if you go, take a moment to look around at the smiles that it brings to many faces, young and old, as they escape from whatever other troubles and stresses they may (or may not) have in their lives......that is where you will see the value in such events.
  4. You want a laugh? In an attempt to send a couple of dozen Happy New Year texts, it would appear that I somehow managed to send a grand total of 93 according to my most recent phone bill I'm just thankful that I pay a fixed monthly rate for my phone :029:
  5. Pattelinen has only been back in training for 2 or 3 weeks and with the reserves not playing over the festive period I can't see how it is possible that he would get a look in anywhere!!!
  6. Being able to save penalties, or at least get close to them is instinctive and I don't think it is something that can easily be taught....your either good at it or your not. Let's not forget, that in his early career Calder was the one taking the penalties instead of saving them, this is bound to have given him an edge over other keepers, past, present and future. The answer, as stated above, is that prevention is better than the cure and we simply need to stop conceding such soft spot kicks.
  7. I'll give you a 1000/1, but it has to be scored in normal time....i.e. Penalty shoot outs don't count :001:
  8. The SPL have to be very careful in the handling of these things and in all honesty I think they've got this one totally wrong. Although I disagreed with the postponing of the OF Derby, the moment they made the decision to allow that then the option should have been available to ALL teams. With it coming to light that Dundee Utd were refused a postponement then the SPL only add fuel to the fire that they (the OF) receive favourable treatment from the bigwigs.
  9. Rossco certainly hasn't been doing himself (or the team) too many favours of late, that's for sure.
  10. Don't worry Marty...your not the only one that misses things already posted on the forum Clicky Clicky :004:
  11. If you miss a miss....does that mean you score?
  12. You weren't the only one Mannie, sorry. I really shouldn't try and send text messages en masse when I've had a drink or 12. :015:
  13. Wishing everyone all the best for 2008...even you barstewards who go out of the way to p!ss me off
  14. Tango Man Bites Back :015:
  15. I must have missed the news that Ridgers had signed on a permanent with Elgin :017:
  16. You'll not be very popular going round giving people the clap!!!! All the best to Caff....very unlucky not to have been able to re-establish himself in the team after losing his position to Dods and he'll be a great asset to St Johnstone.
  17. Let's see if you can guess who this is on February's page.......... X
  18. This country has a very unhealthy "grief culture" IMO, and I'm glad we've decided to go ahead with our game. I think it far more fitting that "life go on" and we take time during that to pay tribute as opposed to cancelling everything and creating am awkward period of limbo. However, to each their own, and if the OF felt it necessary to suspend their game then so be it.
  19. Could you imagine :015:
  20. Nope.....I ticked the box on the wrong one :029:
  21. I have a feeling we're going to get absolutely hammered...in fact, I can't see us managing to keep Aberdeen's goal tally ins single figures. Blackie is going to lose the plot on the first tackle and get sent off and Bayne is going to elbow their keeper in the face as they jump for a ball and follow shortly afterwards....result in us having to play out the final 75 minutes with just 9 men. Right, that's about as far from my usually confident prediction as I can get.....here's hoping it works :015:
  22. Had I suggested Mikes Dad looked like Carey then you might have a point :029:
  23. With Caff as good as gone, signing McGuire is almost essential IMO. If we lose both then we really are going to be stretched at the back. We're ok in the middle so long as we don't lose anybody and it's the same up front. I believe Zibi only had a loan deal until January, and with Ridgers coming back from Elgin then I can't see us going out of our way to extend his loan here. Although I would like to see a more experienced keeper pushing Mike for his place to keep him on his toes. I think we'll see a few cheeky bids coming in for players as other teams perhaps sell players on and have a bit of cash to spend. News that Robson is set to leave Utd might see the Grocer coming in for Rankin or something like that. Although not ideal, we could see out the season without bringing anyone else in at this stage (McGuire situation aside) and our #1 priority should be in keeping as much of the squad intact as possible and getting our players sorted on new contracts.
