  13. A lot of fans had unreasonably high expectations from day one as he seemed to be immediately tipped as a replacement for Dargo before he'd so much as kicked a ball. The only thing that should have been expected of him was to give his all and try and fight for a place in the squad, and seeing the progress he's made with his own personal fitness during his time here I'd say he was doing just that. It just wasn't the right club or the right time for for the lad. He was never going to get his opportunity ahead of Niculae and with Wyness and Bayne also battling for a start he was going to have to be something a bit special to get any length of time on the pitch for the first team. I would have perhaps liked to have seen him stay till the end of the season when he may have got a chance if the situation permitted to see what he could really do, but we don't have the luxury of being able to afford to have too many players kicking about on slim hopes. Like any player, he deserves a fair crack at the whip in getting games and he's being crowded out with us. And like any club we have to keep one eye on the purse strings, so it make sense to free up wages to allow us to strengthen in other areas. Good luck to the lad...will be keeping an eye on the press to see how he gets on.

  20. I've had a few arguments about these two films in the past....the general cause of the arguments was that many people see the violence in Star Wars as perfectly acceptable for kids to be watching, but for some reason Godfather is a big no no. You can drag Tom and Jerry cartoons in to the equation for a more lively debate if you so wish :015: I think Star Wars has a wider audience, and for that reason it has to be viewed as the most influential...but it's hard to compare two films with totally different genres.
  21. They can play a fairly benignant role in that, where sometimes someone might misinterpret the tone of someone's post, the use of a smiley makes it more obvious if the point was light hearted or serious. Folk using big words like "antithesis and "benignant" on message board to appear intelligent, i find this to be the worst form of psuedomancullarism Have you had the pleasure of being introduced to Sophia?
  22. Just checked and it would appear my understanding was wrong here is the "Law" as per the SFA website......
  23. Aye...the Muppet Card for the buses is a great money saver :004:
  24. My understanding of the "current" offside rule is that only an arm, leg or any part of the players torso has to be in line with the second last man for the player to be onside. In other words if you draw the line up from the pitch and it passes through any part of both players then it's basically onside. If that's right then I think it's undeniably onside...however, it's very close and as a linesman can't be looking in two places at the same time (at the point ball is hit and along the line of players) then it was one of those that could have gone either way and you'd be hard pushed to shoot the linesman whatever way he had given it.
  25. If you want to be a successful smartarse then you really should make sure you've got all the basis covered first...or at the very least made sure you've read the whole thread....
