  1. I believe the situation with McGuire is in hand and despite interest from elsewhere he is as keen to come to us on a permanent basis as we are to get him.
  2. Listening to Brews interview and you could tell just how much it meant to him, not just as a manager, but coming from the heart....heck, I thought he was about to burst into tears at one point when talking about the commitment of the lads on the park. Everyone has praised the players and the manager...but special mention to the fans for what was truly the best "12th Man" performance by them that I have seen since we got in to the SPL. I don't think their was a person in the North Stand that wasn't clapping and chanting during large portions of the second half, and a quick glance across to the Main Stand gave the impression it was the same there. And lets not forget the couple who had to do the walk of shame when it was pointed out they were actually Celtic Fans in the wrong end :015: I tell you how great it was, I just tried to make a phonecall and when the person answered and I went to speak...nothing came out but a croak...the voice is gone, completely fooked :029:
  3. Your spot on there Alex, today was THE performance of the season so far.
  4. I take it you weren't in the car park then?! Home in record time! No, I avoid the car park whenever possible and still get the car within spitting distance of the stadium :004: I was actually back in the house by 4:15 and I never even got out of my seat till the final whistle blew :001:
  5. Just in from the match....that was a real blood, sweat and snotters effort by ICT. Will elaborate my thoughts more once I've got a coffee.
  6. Proc doing fine, unlike Hastings who keeps going AWOL
  7. Inverness is changing, that's for certain, but I remain optimistic that we'll come out the other side in a fairly healthy state. The Retail Park/s and the expanded Eastgate have removed many of the shops from the main streets in the centre of town, but these will eventually be replaced by cafes, pubs and the more exclusive boutique style shops which have been sorely missing for too long now. Most stores that are taking premises at Retail Parks are forced to do so as they can't get premises big enough to meet their needs in the centre given the ever increasing population. The new retail units that have appeared aren't all that expensive coming it at around ?1000/Month for rent and once work is finished in the centre I am sure these will start to fill up. Personally I don't think they are going far enough with the work they are doing and Church Street, Queensgate and Union Street should all be pedestrianised. There's parking a plenty between the Eastgate, Multi-Story and Morrisons...it's just people are too lazy to walk even a short distance. When I was working on the buses you got people who would get on the bus at the post office and off at Morrisons to go collect the car!!! The traffic at present is a nightmare, but that's as much the fault of the road users as anyone else. They know that work is going on and they still insist on going through the town instead of finding an alternative route. The person responsible for having buses going needlessly round in circles needs his head read and why our scaffy carts need to come out to empty bins between 8 and 9 in the morning from the shops is totally baffling.
  8. Search the forums, the arguments already been done to death and I see no benefit in starting it all over again.

  13. When it comes to dishing out the baked bunnet, there are many others who will be far further forward in the queue than me, although maybe not to many in front of Mee :015: Brewster wasn't my first choice and I believed we should have been casting the net a bit wider in the search. If Brewster turns out to be the making of ICT over the next few seasons then it will have been more by luck than good judgment on the part of those who appointed him, IMO. However, I don't think any could doubt my support for him since he stepped back in to the job and I've never wanted anything other than for him to succeed. If that means I'm due a slice of baked bunnet then I'll happily share in the feast.
  14. Why would I need to do that?
  15. It's also quite refreshing to listen to his talk about always chasing the team in front instead of hearing how the club would be happy to finish 11th. Fitness is up, mentalities are changing....Brewster might actually turn out to have been the right choice afterall :024:

  19. It's certainly not change for changes sake....and although we would like nothing better than to put a site in place and then leave it to it's own devices it doesn't work like that. Security upgrades, bug fixes, hardware development which needs changes in software for compatibility, operating system upgrades that need changes for compatibility...many of these things are forced upon us and if we don't keep on top of it all then the site would ground to a halt. And that's without getting in to the minefield of recent changes in software licensing which about crippled our ability to keep things going!!! I totally agree...and our aim is not to keep adding stuff on aimlessly, it is to make what exists run a little slicker, to add value and where things aren't being used or aren't necessary then to take them away. The fact is, we have far fewer extras today than we had 12 months ago!!! It's a service we may be able to provide and that proves popular elsewhere so we are throwing it out there as an option if people want to take us up on the offer. It would not be hosted on the same servers as the website and it would have no impact on the operation of this site whatsoever. Many people already use Google Mail (GMail) and like it...we are offering them the chance to have an e.mail address with some relevance to something they are interested in which operates on that service. We are installing and implementing the new software with the prime objective of squeezing a bit more speed from the servers, and you will see access to things around the site speeding up. This forum already has the function to read all replies since your last visit. If you can't see the link then press the little plus sign below the ICT badge in the top right corner of the screen and it will expand a window where the link can be found. This will still be available on the new software. That probably all sounds like a bleeding heart story...but it's not really as I enjoy the challenge - if I didn't I would have jacked it all in a long time ago.
  20. Heilandee....if your going to shamelessly promote Dee4Life, you should have added a link to the image at the very the least :015: Now....where did I put that picture of IHE playing Santa :024:
  21. I believe he was training with St Johnstone, partly so as they could get a look at him themselves and partly so as he would be more readily available should anyone else have shown any interest. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to Kilmarnock, especially if they are a bit light on the left side of the park, and I think he would have been kept on here longer had we not such an abundance of midfielders.
  22. We are already looking ahead to the next stage in the development of CaleyThistleOnline...in fact, we have been for a while. Don't worry, we're not about to drop a load of new stuff on your lap and the changes won't be happening until after the end of the season. New software will operate in much the same fashion as the existing stuff...we are more focused on improvement as opposed to wholesale change. Issues such as site speed etc are always at the top of the priority list, and sometimes in our battle to keep on top of these things we don't take the time we should to think about what we can add/remove/change on the site to make it what you want it to be. We have been throwing around some ideas for other services we could provide for fans and one of these is a webmail/email service whereby we could provide users with a personal e.mail address such as [email protected] or whatever. Having looked at the many different ways to do this, the most flexible solution would be to offer the service in partnership with Google Mail (GMail), many of you may use this already and will be aware of how great a product they offer. It would involve a small annual fee for each user, but if enough people were interested then it is a service we could provide. Feedback would be much appreciated to allow us time to develop this if people want it. If you can think of anything else you would like to see added/removed/changed then let us know, and if it is possible/practical then we'll look in to it. Some of the stuff we currently use will be changing so please keep your ideas/suggestions as generic as possible.
  23. I don't think he has modified his play at all to be honest...and I don't think that was ever the reason he was picking up the Yellow Cards. He had a habit of back chatting, arguing and gesticulating in such a manner that he brought too much attention to himself during games. It doesn't matter what walk of life you belong to, if you p!ss off those in authority then you can be sure that they will eventually get tired of it and return the favour by making life difficult for you. It's the improvement in his behaviour that I think most people are giving credit for as most people have always seemed to respect his talent as a player, and very few have ever questioned that...either now or last season when he was up more than his share of yellow cards. I have a garage full of vinyl records if you want something that's a little less scratched than the one your playing at the moment.....and that coming from someone who is a champion in the "not knowing when to let go" event. (You can have that on me for free...don't forget to bookmark it so you can throw it back at me in a couple of months) You have a go at people on here for calling players "sh!te" etc, yet here you are and your as good as calling Black a thug....even if you do try to dress it up in fancy words and alliteration. You really are a creature of contradicting conjecture!!!
  24. A bit of perspective on "Blacks Behaviour" is required here I think. I was one of the more vocal people on these forums in regards to black having p!ssed me off last season, but it had little to do with the style of his play, and everything to do with the disrespect I believed he had shown in the incident where he threw his top away. For me, that was when the line was crossed and that's what he needed to get in check. Yes, it's frustrating to see any player picking up stupid yellow cards, but in this game you have players who's "style" of play leaves them prone to such things, whilst other players who are a little more subtle, but just as guilty, go from game to game pulling shirts, getting in sly digs, climbing over the top of players at set pieces etc...and they rarely come under the kosh from officials. I don't think black is, or ever has been a "dirty" footballer....he plays tough, and you need that element in any team. He's also physically smaller than most of his opposition and he needs to make it known that he's not going to be walked over. Take Saturday for example...he and Nebuisse (sp?) were having a right ding dong for most of the match...Black even looked to have come off the worst at one point when he was down on the deck....but over the piece he got the better of Nebuisse...evident in the fact that he was the man to be subbed as he was flagging half way through the second half. Do you think Nebuisee will be so keen to try and dish out the heavy treatment the next team the teams meet??? What Black lacks in terms of physical presence, he more than makes up for in terms of mental presence....he needs to be allowed to stamp that authority on the opposition during a game...it may see him get the odd card, but over the piece it is a small price to pay. Although it could be argued that the petulance was part of that character I think he's disproved that fact. His game hasn't changed much IMO, he still plays hard and never lets up....but he has learned to button his lip and contain his temper, that, IMO, was the reason he was coming under so much scrutiny from Refs last season and is why he is not picking up the cards this season.....nothing to do with him modifying his game and not making the crunching tackles/challenges that make his such a dominant figure in the midfield. In short...his behaviour and the way he plays his game are two entirely different things, IMO, and they should not be confused when judging the guy. His behaviour was having a negative effect on his game, he has got that sorted without detracting from his effectiveness and that can't have been an easy thing to do. Credit where it is due...he seems to have matured and come to realise the difference for himself. He's as effective a player as ever, and having sorted out the negative he will spend more time on the pitch demonstrating the positive and making himself an even bigger asset to the team.
