  1. The game was calling for a sub on Saturday and Brewster made (what turned out to be) a great decision to replace McBain with Bayne in order to prevent Hibs pushing so many men forward. Other than that I don't think the game needed any other subs and Wilson only came on for Duncan as he'd taken a knock. Had we been chasing the game, then I can understand the need for change, but we weren't and we looked fairly comfortable and the more likely to score again (which we did). Changes would only have served to disrupt something which was working and that wouldn't have been sensible.
  2. If I was in goal and the wall had set up in the main stand, I'd be shouting at them too :015:
  3. Donaldson in the press today claiming his shot that came off the underside of the bar was a foot over the line and Collins is still greeting on about it and thinks we should have goal line cameras :015:
  4. 9 months ago we beat the Arabs 1-0 at home and he still manages to get his leg over. Last time a miracle like that happened it resulted in the birth of Jesus :015: Congratulations and best wishes to all three.
  5. RSPA insist people play with mouths closed so as to prevent the risk of choking on rogue winks.
  6. From the outside looking in, "Team Spirit" has been fluctuating since Brewsters return, but over the piece it seems to have gone up more than down. We saw the initial buzz that comes with any new manager away at Easter Road when we played some of the best football I have seen from us all season...unfortunately not reflected in the result. We then seemed to go through a bit of a shaky period where Brewster was testing the squad, bringing a few in to line and screwing the nut in terms of fitness. Add to that the fact that some players didn't know where they stood as Brewster was making his assessments and also that some others were sticking their nose in to Brewsters business at the stadium (something I feel has been sorted for now) and the period of unrest is probably understandable. However for the last 3 games things have been very much on the up, both in terms of spirit and the willingness to dig in and grind out a result, even when the performances have perhaps not been the best. Still think we have a bit to go, but many of the recent signs are positive and movement is being made in the right direction.
  7. I'm no boxing fan, but I was listening to the talk about it on the radio all night and they had a bookmaker on who seemed just a little too happy that so many people were throwing their money at Hatton. Had intended to stick a few quid on Mayweather based on that fact alone, but by the time I got in at 3am I'd forgotten about it :029:
  8. Given your incessant longing to stir, maybe you should have opted for the username "Spoon" :001:
  9. I was actually quite shocked, and a little puzzled, by the substitution of McBain...as was he given his reaction. I think it was one of those decisions by Brewster which was always going to be seen as a great move if we held on to win and would have seen him chastised heavily if Hibs had come back in to the game. I'm glad it was the former :001:
  10. I think Black made up for Rossco's missing physical presence today....lol. A couple of Proctors "mistakes" came about when he was chasing to cover other players who found themselves out of position....something you rarely see Rossco doing....probably because he's the one most often out of position. With the setup as it was the last 2 games we don't need to be relying so much on our backs pushing forward so often, and in fact, I think we are showing up as a stronger unit when we choose to pass the ball out of these positions instead of trying to run it out all the time (or hoof it up the pitch). Perhaps under the 4-4-2 then Rossco may have pluses to go on, but in a 4-5-1 he has nothing to offer that Proctor has not shown he is capable of doing just as well.
  11. I totally agree and think Proctor has done enough to make the place his for now. The ball is back in Rossco's court to keep pushing himself in order to dislodge the lad.
  12. It's the small minded Highland mentality at work yet again :tic01:
  13. These are the only problems any manager wants to have, and long may they continue as strong competition for places will keep everyone giving 100%

    Marius

IHE is a poor misunderstood wee soul....when everyone thought he was berating the guy, it was all reverse psychology and he's actually his #1 fan. I actually thought that we may have got it wrong today by starting with the same team at home and I feared we would lack any penetration at the front. I wouldn't say Niculae played poorly, but he did play differently. On occasion he has been criticised for making the wrong decision when going forward (passing instead of shooting and vice versa) and I think that by removing that choice it has allowed him to become more focused on the task at hand....allowing him to become a little more selfish for want of a better analogy. I said after last weeks game that I didn't think he could operate as a lone striker...but in a setup where he is well supported from the Midfield then I may find myself having to eat my words if he continues to play the roll as he has done the last couple of games.....it shouldn't work, but it seems to be and I ain't going to complain. The only question that will arise in the near future is...How the feck do you fit Wyness back in to the setup???
  15. BBC Match Report I thought this stuff was written by people who might actually have some clue as to what's going on in the game!!!! And when you read the rest you wonder if this person was actually at the game with their talk of a "poor first half". Wonder if the BBC highlights of this one will be any the less biased towards Hibs than the ones from our trip to Easter Road :014:
  16. If Niculae is reading this - you can now claim to have the body of a God and a Goal Scoring Machine :015: (Private Joke)
  17. Performance reminiscent of the one at Easter Rd, but this time we are getting our rewards. Need to dig in now and hold ball more and ensure we make no mistakes.

    Buses

I agree that a need for extra transport back to town after the matches exists. It may be worth you contacting the club to raise your point and pass on the suggestion.
  19. Got the 'Drop Kick Murphys' blasting out at the moment :crazy07:

    Buses

Gordy, I think it is a case of "Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it" I believe the club received complaints of a two kinds... 1. Away fans causing problems on the bus 2. People who had got the bus out from town not being able to get it back as others were using it for the return only. Fans insisted they put a system in place to prevent this problem and they have done so. The club will never be able to cater the individual needs of everyone, but in terms of running a safe and manageable service I think they have got this one spot on. It may be possible for the club/Rapsons to tweak the system slightly so as to allow any unused seats to be filled on the return journey, but you would need to contact the club direct to speak to them about that.
  21. Many cd/dvd drives on laptops will have the laser attached to the drawer that opens which leaves them prone to gathering dust or being accidentally touched by a greasy finger - the advantages of the design is that you can give it a quick visual check to see if that is the case and it's easy to get at for cleaning.
  22. That explains the Glebe bit....what about the rest?
  23. come on....Come On......COME ON......COME ONNNN!!!! That's about the only thing he said that I understood :015:
  24. There's always someone who tries to turn everything in to an episode of Hollyoaks :023:
  25. You missed the bit about him returning with backup in what looked to be an attempt to eject the youngsters and had it not been for the not so young gents sitting behind leaving him in no doubt about where he should go then that may have very well been the case. We've had a few issues with the Stewards there over the past few seasons, but this was the largest act of f*ckwittery I have seen in...well...ever. Even the Police were standing shaking their heads in disbelief. Fans are ejected from stadia all around the country every weekend for doing things which could incite trouble....yet here we had one of those charged with looking after our safety acting in a manner which, if he had followed through on the ejection, would have without a doubt caused total mayhem. In fact, I would say that everyone was fortunate that the ICT crowd are a largely placid lot as many other supports would have turned it in to more of a physical than verbal assault on the steward in question. And just to clear it up...we were talking about one of these plastic horns you blow in to...not an airhorn or any such item.
