Pronunciation of his name is..... Ib (as in jib) ra (as in ran) Se (as in set) ka (as in Ford Ka) jja (as in jar with a slightly softer sounding j which comes from the middle of the tongue instead of the front)
-
Absolutely.

The offer was made on the basis that someone would take on the organisation of it and assistance would be given with the cost...nobody has come back looking for money, so I can only assume nobody has booked anything.

Renegade, who charged you £25 to sit in the North Stand (or £30 for the Main Stand) v Aberdeen? http://ictfc.com/matches/tickets/ticket-prices

"Variety is the Spice of Life" and whilst I think the product on the park is pretty good, people are getting bored of watching their teams playing the same few teams 3 or 4 times (or more) every season. An increase in the size of the league and a revamped league cup (with regional group qualifiers) seems like an obvious solution to that one, but decision makers are far too focused on the short term purse strings....which is kinda understandable given that one mistake could finish any and/or all of us. I'm no fan of TV, but we have long passed the point of no return...and, IMO, the only hope is to fully embrace it and try and turn it to our advantage. Look at the likes of Darts and the Super League who are thriving because they've done just that. We can no longer afford to have the game run by people who are stuck with the mindset that "tradition trumps all". If we're looking to provide a product for the next generation, then we first of all need to embrace what it is the next generation want. I appreciate that some of that may go against my previous held thoughts/views....but you live and learn or face extinction.

Scarlet, I know this is not (directly) what you are on about, but the club DO have strong links with schools/community....not only in Inverness, but across the vast majority of the Highlands and Islands. Not sure if you have seen this article - http://ictfc.com/community/community-news/1366-ictfc-in-the-community ICTFC works extremely hard to serve the community. Aside from the kids stuff they also run health & fitness programmes for adults and run regular series' of senior programmes. As well as their being an open invite for any/every school to contact the club to get free tickets, Craig is also delivering hundreds for every game to those taking part in the community & school projects. ICTFC only have a finite amount of money and resource...and what they are achieving with that is incredible, IMO. They have also ensured that even during times when cutbacks etc were required, the community activities and involvement remained a priority. Is it not about time people stopped (unfairly) questioning what the club is doing for the community (as they are clearly doing a great deal) and started asking what the community can be doing for the club? Ok, so I went off at a wee tangent/rant there....but the bottom line is that the club are not the block to more stuff happening. The opportunities are there if the community were just a bit more willing to roll up the sleeves and work at engaging with the club as much as the club work at engaging with them.

One gentleman came pretty close to hitting the target on Saturday. As stated above, the prize is now up to £300 and the next opportunity will be the Dundee Utd match on 25th October. To be in with a chance you need to enter at http://ictfc.com/shoot-for-the-boot

Well done. I'll leave it to you to explain to people why the playing budget just got a bit smaller.

Finally.....http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29164340

It has been increased to £200 for the St Johnstone match. Due to other distractions today (Press for the Awards) I didn't get full details on whether it will roll over till there's a winner, but will find out when I get a chance.

Surprises me. BBC were in attendance at the press call and interviewed everyone. SKY sent along a full broadcast van....all set to go live on SKY Sports News and gazumped by Oscar Pistorius!!!!

Just a wee thread to try and gauge if there's sufficient demand for running a coach from Glasgow (also picking up at Stirling and Perth) to the Highland Derby on 5th October. If the coach can be filled (or as near as) then there's an offer to subsidise half the cost. This could also be opened up to County fans, but first refusal goes to Caley Thistle fans. If there's not enough to justify a Coach, then a Plan B exists...but we'll only look at that if necessary as it would be nice to get a full coach up the road if possible.

That's a big statement

We're actually in a fairly fortunate position as we have a squad that is performing and, whilst small in numbers, has enough depth to offer cover and options all over the park. i.e. There's no dead wood. Can you say that about any other Premiership Club? Yogi has said we will only bring in player/s that are the right fit for the team/club....and he's still looking. Adding another forward would be nice, but I'm of the firm opinion that we have players capable of stepping in there should the need arise...certainly short term...so there's no immediate panic to bring someone in. On that basis, Yogi is right to be taking his time to make sure he gets the best he can get. Players like Gow and McFadden may still have something to offer in the game, but with them being at the tail end of their playing careers, they wouldn't exactly represent an investment in taking the club forward for the future. That's not to say these types of players can't/shouldn't be considered, but I personally would rather see us spending wages and investing time training players who we might have a chance of getting a return on further down the line....either in length of service or from selling on.

I only asked because taking penalties isn't really part of what makes a striker....I mean, a manager isn't going to sign a forward on the basis that they have a great penalty scoring record (not on it's own at least). Whilst scoring penalties is important (as is any goal), I just wouldn't include it as a necessary or high value element of a strikers "worth" (for want of a better word).
-
Do you have figures excluding penalty goals?
