  1. No worries over Nick Ross being eligible. Have checked and he's clear! But it's news to me that there was speculation about this, which I assume there must have been with the use of the phrase 'confirmed that he's suspended?' I need to get on Twitter and Facebook!!!
  2. You're welcome!
  3. Missed out on three records today that I thought looked very realistic for much of the season. But probably the only 'negative' from today. The records we just fell short with: SPL/Premiership Fewest defeats Fewest goals conceded Best goal-difference
  4. First ever SFWA Manager of the Year award. First ever Manager of the Year 'double' (PFA & SFWA).
  5. The accolades just keep coming! Well done Yogi - and also well done to the journalists who too often overlook what's going on up here! I heard Graham Spears on the radio a few weeks ago saying that he voted for Hughes and that many of his Glasgow-based colleagues had done the same. Winning both the awards in the same season is also an achievement - only Gordon Strachan, Walter Smith and Derek McIness have done it!
  6. I see that Maurice Malpas has stood down as 'Director of Football' at Raith Rovers - could he be about to team-up again with Terry at Newport County?!
  7. Montrose captain Garry Wood has signed for Formartine United. Ironic that it was his wonder goal that prevented Montrose from 'slipping' into the Highland League - yet a week later he signs for a club in that very league! But there's more money, apparently, for him at Formartine. Also in the Highland League, Andrew Greig of Brora has been named Highland League Player of the Year. ...and Craig MacMillan has left Buckie Thistle to sign for Rothes.
  8. Can't believe the SFA actually sent the actual trophy up here and not a replica! But it's ridiculous that it should be damaged. I've now had to phone my sister to say that I will no longer will be taking her kids (my niece and nephew) to see the cup tomorrow. Gutted. What a ******* embarrassment. The oldest trophy in world football gets a tour of Inverness - but needs to be sent back to Glasgow for repairs. Pathetic.
  9. Caley v St Johnstone. Scottish Cup 4th round, February 1992. Is that the Polworth goal? I'm thinking that's '84. Surely Peter McCloy in goal?
  10. He's not cup-tied, which is why I suggested him rather than Mark Brown. Not necessarily as a permanent move, but more of an 'emergency' signing ahead of the cup final. Granted, I have no idea what his form's like, but he's certainly an experienced 'keeper who would (arguably) be a better addition for the subs bench than an 18-year-old rookie who's been 'shipping goals for fun' in most of games in the Development League. Toni's also played with the majority of our team - it was only two-years ago he left, when he was an automatic pick, ahead of Ryan Esson! But this is probably all academic, as Reguero (despite being released) will probably still be a registered County player until 31st May.
  11. Could this solve our goalkeeping worries? How about an audacious bid for Tony Reguero ahead of the cup final?
  12. Nice thought - CB's "biggies" sitting under the bed all night.... (surely time for Family Guy reference) .....who's for chowder?!!!
  13. Some complete polar-opposites of opinion on how we should tackle this game! Often there are at most 2 or 3 tactical differences but here, we've got wholesale changes versus no tinkering! I guess, that's what Hughes gets paid for! But as 'manager of the Year', I'm sure he's relishing this dilemma! It's worth remembering that he has been in the Cup Final before - (ironically with Falkirk) but, he's bound to have benefited from the experience. Probably a fixture we could do without! He's almost in a damned if you, damned if you don't, position. If one of our 'senior' players gets injured, questions will be pointed at why he 'risked playing him.... Frankly, I just want this match out-of-the-way, injury and suspension free, so we can focus on the final!!!
  14. You'd probably call it 'hair-of-the-dog'!
  15. Ardross Filling Station, 1930s Tomnahurich Street.
  16. I always laugh at establishments that 'boast' about achievements on their premises....often forgetting that time passes and their proclamation starts to do them a disservice! Almost certain I recently saw an 'award claim' in a Forres chippy that their black pudding was some gold medal winner in 2001 or something....so what exactly's gone wrong since then - and what are they flogging nowadays!!! Is it not effectively saying, yes back in the day we used to have the best black puddings, but now the competition has overtaken us!
  17. Jordan Gibbons, who made two substitute appearances for us in 2013, has been released by QPR.
  18. scrutinise
  19. There won' t be any. And to be fair, I respect them for that. They turned-their-back on the merger and have stuck to their guns. The last game they would be going to is the cup final!! It's the same with Thistle. Have spoken to 5 or 6 'refusniks' about the cup final - but not one ounce of regret or even interest..... Probably impossible to understand for younger fans, but that's the reality!
  20. If the Scottish Cup Final doesn't bounce a few onto our average attendance - then frankly, what will??!! Will be interesting to see where it takes us, fans wise.....!
  21. Aye, Hughes was totally correct in his post-match interview when he said that this game's selection is a real headache!! The actuall match is meaningless - and the fortunately outcome doesn't have any influence on other clubs' prospects. But can he really give Cammy Mackay his debut in goals? Does he drop Meekings? Rest Ofere? Bring Watkins & Williams back...should he give Polworth a game and Kink? What does he do with Danny Williams, Nick Ross and Aaron Doran? does Raven automatically return after suspension! The only cert to start is Gary Warren! But Hughes might not even play him, but instead opt to go with his desired cup final back-four. What a dilemma!! Ordinarily, Celtic away, is a fixture that requires no motivation - but, on Saturday, the guys have to remember not to be too motivated!
  22. Same old! He MUST have seen the performance Shinnie put in against Celtic in the semi? What more can he do to get called up? If he can pick Mark Reynolds then he'll certainly be picking Shinnie - when he's at the Dons next season....
