  1. That was Aaron commenting on the Roman Catholic Church in Ireland's guide to contraception I think.
  2. Hibs best player was James McPake, who is a loanee. Ian Murray is pish. Just because he shaved 1973 into his boff and kicked Ian Black a few times doens't mean he'd have done any better. Hibs really are terrible.
  3. I wonder if he's tried the Icelandic delicacy of Svio? It's a boiled sheeps head, cut in half, singed and with the brain removed. Yummy.
  4. Are you suggesting that Gavin Morrison should've been played in place of Richie Foran? Foran has played well in midfield, although he was poor by his standards at the start of the season while playing up front. Another stat - Jonny Hayes had the joint fourth most assists in the SPL last season, with nine. That's the same as Paul Dixon and below Anthony Stokes (10), Kris Commons (12) and Steven Davis (13). Fantastic record for the wee man, especially considering the three players above him all finished in the top four and all played full seasons with the Old Firm.
  5. Goals by Hayes at Hibs and Tade at Well for me.

Stuart Armstrong's family moved to Dundee, that's why he left. http://www.dundeeunitedfc.co.uk/index.asp?tm=124&ID=361

I don't want to seem as though I'm denigrating our youth players or those who work with them but the fact is that none of the youth players who have been released have gone on to have a career at anything like a level approaching the SPL. We have a very difficult job with youth players, we don't have a massive budget and we don't have a big population centre as a catchment area. When you compare the historic level of youth players in our team to how many we have now we're actually doing pretty well - Nick Ross, Graeme Shinnie and Shane Sutherland are all regulars in the first team, and Ross and Shinnie are representing Scotland at Under 21 level.

The vast majority of our Under 19s end up getting released, the same with every other Under 19 squad in the country. This is the same every year.
  9. When did he make his debut for us, anyone? I'm pretty sure I saw it, a lanky 17 year old playing left midfield at Telford Street.
  10. There used to be an old alkie guy called Dan who cut about around the IRA when I was there, in the 1990s. People used to shout at him and he'd chase you on his bike. It had a basket on the front for his empties. I also remember that in the field between MacDonald Park and the back of Drummond School there used to be a caravan that had some old tramp living in it.
  11. - Fans pay £50 to emulate Jonny Hayes and have a square go with Richie Foran. First fan to last a minute going toe-to-toe with the Foranator wins a coconut. - CaleyD challenge: fans and players pay £25 each and have to read three of CaleyD's posts in a row without falling asleep. Winner gets years supply of Nytol. This challenge will require strict drug testing for Pro-Plus, cocaine and crystal meth. - Renegade XI. All the players Renegade has suggested we sign are recruited to play in a charity match against Caley Thistle. Fans flock for miles around to see how that eight foot tall Norwegian whaler works alongside Tana Umanga up front. - Ross County charity approach. We charge everyone £20 for, er, y'know, eh. Yep. - Everyone pays Johndo £10 to go a week without insinuating that he has insider information from within the club. The accuracy of Johndo's 'exclusives/windups/pish' will remain the same for this week. - Instead of TopSixNextYear putting bets on Caley winning 7-1 and Shane Sutherland to score hat-tricks, he donates all his bets for a month to the club. We now have more money than Manchester City and Ladbrokes are bankrupt. - ALternative Maryhill enters a 'Jesus and Mary Chain' look-a-like competition and wins £5 for the club. Sadly it's wasted when the result ofthe competition descends into a massive riot and everyone gets killed.
  12. We have absolutely zero chance of signing Ian Black. Literally none.
  13. McKayis a hard-working, line leader not a goalscorer. I think he's a decent player, could be more valuable with a proper pre-season under his belt. Tansey is a strange one. He looks like a good player and can move the ball with purpose, break well and has a decent shot. I think he's been disappointing in that he hasn't put performances together and really dominated games. He should be the heartbeat of a side but all too often he's been a 6/10 sort of player. I wouldn't be averse to offering him a new deal, although I think he might want to go back to England. Did we not get him on a free because of cross border contract rules?
  14. That's a good point, we are limited in that we can only give 2500 odd tickets to the Old Firm. I probably can't talk about this much as I haven't made it to a home game this season :o You do have to ask where the 1000 fans who came in 2005/06 are now, although some of the attendances that season were very similar to the crowds we've drawn this time out.
  15. Football was brilliant in the lower leagues. I feel sorry for the people who go to games now that didn't then. In the second and third divisions you used to turn up expecting a 4-0 win every week.
  16. I'll send you a direct message. The video I've got isn't in proper order btw
  17. What software did you use to upload them? I have a video with some highlights from 2002-03 on it.
  18. Me and my mate went to a friendly against Deveronvale the Monday before we beat Celtic in 2003. We were the only fans there so that means we are the biggest fans, no-one can contradict us.
  19. I'm not keen on playing Shinnie anywhere other than left back. I'm assuming he's playing in midfield. Could be that Nick Ross and Aaron Doran are pushing up to support McKay up front.
  20. I hate all this Poznan nonsense. Utterly cringeworthy. Same as 'Ultras' groups in Scotland, absolutely awful. The best atmosphere I've seen at a Caley game recently was the game where we beat Dunfermline before we were promoted and it came through that Dundee were losing and as things stood we were promoted. You really cannot beat that for creating atmosphere at a game. The Queens game just before that was brilliant as well, we probably only had 200-300 fans at it but it was great, real togetherness between the team and support.
  21. Courier has the guys name as John McDonald, says he lived in 'the Central Belt'.
  22. I was at the game, our defending was terrible but it was entertaining enough and I think we'd have won if Hayes hadn't been sent off. He was having a great game but got a very silly second yellow. As above though, I can't really get into the game because of what happened with the fan in the second half. I didn't see the guy fall but heard him hit the floor, it was like a dead weight. He wasn't moving and when the first aid staff got to him it seemed to take a long time to get into action but he was in a bad way. He was getting CPR and I think they were using defribillators on him but obviously it was a losing battle. I was speaking to fans who were close to what happened in the pub after the game and they said he was there with someone, it must be terrible. It's a cliche but you just can't care about the game after something like that. Very strange feeling for the last half hour.
  23. It's in the match thread, I'm afraid it seems that he died. terrible.
  24. According to his twitter account Andy Shinnie is back in the squad.
  25. I'm going. Biggest game of the season IMO.
