I can't help but feel at times, that the problem is Butcher. Sure the club got promoted, but where does he go from here? Butcher seems like a man lost and out of ideas. Just the other day I read people on here saying that he's "ICT's greatest ever manager" and one person a while ago even said "he'd one day manage in the Premiership and be as good as Alex Ferguson"! Unbelievable stuff. There's something about the whole thing right now where I can't help but feel to a certain degree that we're like a bunch of lemmings, blind faith leading us closer and closer to the edge of the cliff.

While that is true, the best counter attacking sides have attacking qualities in-bedded in that style, in ICT's case - fast wingers. Just because it worked away, doesn't mean it'll work at home (it clearly doesn't!) and even though ICT won using the counter attack away, it was still fairly passing based, not just big hoofs up to no-one. The counter-attack and the long ball has it's place in the game, just not at the Caley Park.

I see County failed to win again. They can't even get a goal for love nor money these days. That's a shame.......!

I actually happen to think that the OP makes a valid point. The long ball is garbage and I do happen to think that it is a trait that Butcher does seem to favour. At Coventry, Butcher was fired with a FA Cup Replay still to play, and due apparently to Butcher's fondness of the long ball, it was an easier decision to boot him. Sydney FC was much the same thing. Gone were the sharp brown suits, passing-based football and A League title of Pierre Littbarski, and in was the training suited, punt-it-up-park football of Terry Butcher. The Sydney trophy cabinet was also noticeably empty that season. Like many others on this forum, I've been to more games in my life than I can think of and I will categorically say that ICT are unquestionably a better side when the ball is on the deck. Look at the facts. ICT are an attacking side, who have always benefited from using the width of the pitch to get the ball wide. It's no coincidence that ICT's greatest ever manager - Steve Paterson - made his success using ultra-attacking football. It's also no coincidence that ICT's worst two managers, Sergie Baltacha and Craig Brewster, failed with ICT, while using a defensive, long ball system in the process. It's also interesting to note that season, Terry Butcher's ICT only began their road to success, when a more attacking approach was taken. When ICT defend they lose, when they attack, they win. ICT should aim to attack - that's a fact.

That's an interesting point actually, you might have something there. Training seems to have been something Butcher's struggled with as a manager. At Brentford the players thought his training in the week was garbage, due to the fact that he would go on for hours about how to trap the ball and would lead to him getting very frustrated by the fact that the players "couldn't perform to the same level e could when he was a player". Sydney FC was essentially the same thing. In fact, it came out after Butcher was sacked that when he was in charge, the players would go to training in the morning and then meet up again in secret that afternoon to do it all again, just because of their belief that the standard of training done by Butcher was so bad. This could also partly be true for ICT. How long before an opposition cottons on to just how bad the throw-ins are these days? If I was an opposition manager, I would be punting long balls down towards the corner flags (like they do in rugby) and then attempt to win the ball from there, just due to the fact that ICT constantly seem to lose possession from them.

Eh...Tannadice, Ibrox, Parkhead and Rugby Park perhaps?

No matter what the circumstances, I agree with the original poster. Sutherland is a central player and that alone.

Can only echo what others have said really. Glad of a win, but that Collum is rubbish. Where do they find these people? Must say, I do like the look of Hogg. He looks like the kind of big, hard working centre half ICT have missed since the departure of Dods. Give that man the captaincy! What I must say though, which others haven't are the antics of Dubarry today. If grabbing Lee Cox by the throut isn't a sending off I don't know what is! Dreadful behaviour. Did Collum even notice, or let alone do anything? What do you think!?

Agreed, that says to me that Butcher would rather draw the game then try and win. I don't like that. If ICT don't attack, they won't win. It's as simple as that. Better to have a win and a loss, than two draws.

My guess is - Esson Duff Innes Hogg Proctor Hayes Duncan Cox Doran Foran Rooney With only five subs, where's the harm in putting Max Johnson on the bench as well? You never know when you might need him and where's Blumenshtein? Is he even still here? Edit - Could it also be possible that it's 3-5-2 with Duff in the midfield?

Who knows, is he still even alive? His "out-for-three-weeks" injury seems to have lasted months! As you can see I've even changed by avatar to photo of him in his honour.

The reason for the away kit, was Morton's regular colours of blue and white may clash with ICT's red and blue. Morton's away kit of red also clashes with red and blue. Red does not clash with white and blue. The same thing happened against Peterhead.

Would be nice if the TCS had a PA system where we could hear these songs...........or anything else for that matter!
