Stuart McCall
I'm sure he applied/was linked for the job years ago. Might have been after Charlie Christie resigned. Presume he wouldn't have changed his mind about coming north.

Did a good job at Motherwell on the whole while the Rangers gig was a bit of a hiding to nothing. We could certainly do a lot worse.

New Manager Thread
How anyone with any self-respect would demean themselves enough to Butcher back is astounding. He treated the club like absolute dirt when he left.

New Manager Thread
If I remember correctly, Latapy was always said to be the more attack-minded of the management team. In that case he'd certainly play a more exciting game, that's for sure.

Foran
What's Kevin MacDonald up to these days? He'd be a real coup if we could get him IMO. Experienced coach, must have loads of contacts down south, did a decent enough job at Swindon, as well as being an Invernesian. Whether he'd be interested in moving back up here, if we could afford him or even if he wants to be a manager in his own right again I don't know, but in terms of what we need right now, I think he'd be the perfect fit if we could get him.

Some talk in the press today that Paul Sheerin is being considered as well. Did a decent job at Arbroath from what I remember but not a particularly exciting appointment. I wonder if Paul Telfer will be in the running again. He was the second choice when Hughes got the job apparently and came with some very good references. He'd also have contacts of the lower leagues in England which might come in handy.

Foran
Not my choice. He'd need a good assistant for it to be a success. Promoting someone to manage players he previously played alongside isn't always a good idea either, in any job for that matter.

Yogi
Not a chance he'd come to us.

In terms of rebuilding, scouting, contacts etc. I think Stuart McCall would be the best fit. I think he can be a bit defensively minded though.

Eh? The board have given the management team the biggest budget ever and broke into a rainy day fund to try and ease the injury crisis. It was Yogi who spent most of the time moaning about it and spending it on dross like Liam Hughes.

A cup win, missing out on another by a penalty shoot-out, Europe, 3rd place, two top six finishes, a 7th place finish despite terrible injury problems. With a resume like that it should never have ended like this. Sad, but probably for the best.

Contract Situation
What's happened to Mutombo? I've not heard his name mentioned anywhere. Has he left the building?

New 2016/17 kit
My understanding is both kits are changing as per the contract with Carbrini and from next season onwards we'll go back to switching between a new home and away kit like we did before. The new away kit is quite something apparently but that's all I know!

Contract Situation
I take it Calum Ferguson has been/is being released as I see he's not one of the U20s being offered a senior deal. Probably could've come good but had some terrible injuries.

I didn't realise Fisher was away. Granted we barely saw him, but he did have the physique to offer something a bit different. This Devine saga is a bit strange. He's been on the verge of signing for weeks but still hasn't! Can't really see him doing any better than here really and even then it could be argued he's lucky to be getting anything at all.

I was the same. The only box was in the concourse under the Main Stand, which had run out of sheets by the time I got there. In the past there's been boxes scattered around but not this time. Very strange.

Thanks, as I said, I never saw said incident myself though just read a few comments about it. You're right in latter statement though. Cameron thanked the players and fans, no mention of the management team though.

I see some folk are saying yesterday that post-match, Yogi shook the hand of every player, but blanked Raven. Anyone else spot this? Poor show if true.

I think through time people have mistakenly merged the performances of Munro, Duncan and Tokely into one. Now Duncan and Tokely were coming to the end while McBain and Golabek were finished at this level, but Munro not so. The season prior to him leaving us he wasn't in great form but the season after (when he was no longer captain) he was a lot better. Munro could've been a big part of our squad for another couple of seasons, he didn't decline until his final season with Ross County. This belief as well that we replaced him well initially needs nipped in the bud as well. He was replaced by Tom Aldred....TOM ALDRED! And even after his hissy fit that sent him home our defence was a mess. It wasn't until signing Gary Warren a year later that Munro was truly replaced.

Oh well, I know who I'll be voting for in tomorrow's Player of the Year vote.

In tomorrow's P&J Yogi confirms Raven will be released. An absolutely repulsive decision.

Richie Foran away as well?
Ten days ago Yogi said Foran had a 'prominent role to play next season' Here. Now Foran seems to have the impression that he won't be used much and would in that case would rather go. This is also after about 18 months of talk of Foran eventually taking over including some quotes from Yogi saying he'd be willing to stand aside if Foran wanted the job. This is just weird and once again suggests that things behind the scenes are less than rosy at the moment.

Contract Situation
You've already got a quality player and one who has an affinity with the fans in David Raven and yet you're driven to freezing him out...

Summer Transfer Window Thread
Presume Wedderburn's away. Barely been seen recently and apparently didn't turn up at the Sponsor's Night.
