  1. Esson Duff Tokely Munro Shinnie Hayes Ross Duncan Foran Odhiambo Rooney Subs - Tuffey, McBain, McCann, Morrison, Sutherland, Golabek, Sanchez The important thing is they come out and play from the start. Another 1st half display like that against St Johnstone will see us leave Kilmarnock empty handed.
  2. I'm surprised no one's made the point that certain keepers are much more adept at receiving and controlling a backpass than others. I'd like to think that our coaching staff make Rooney (or anyone else in a forward position) aware of any goalkeeping weaknesses in the opposition. We are fortunate to have in Ryan Esson, not only a very good all round keeper, but someone who can confidently receive a back-pass, and who can then generally dispatch the ball to one of his team-mates.
  3. Rangers putting up a decent show against the Spanish champions. Edu's just scored from a Veiss corner. Good game!
  4. Sounds like a good deal to me - with or without hospitality.... I'll be there. I seem to remember there was a quite a good crowd for Bazza's testimonial. Good night too, as we strolled through that game with Bobby Mann in excellent form, and beat Liverpool's 1st team 5-0!
  5. Great preview, AM.... I totally concur with this comment on the Russell Duncan.... Quote : By all accounts, the first half witnessed an ICT side completely unable to impose itself on the game, and many observers felt that the absence of Duncan was a key factor in this. The restoration of Duncan to the side for Saturday?s game would be a very popular move in the eyes of most supporters.
  6. I doubt Strachan would go back to Aberdeen. That job's becoming something of a poisoned chalice.
  7. Nah.... I reckon he'll get the Scotland job when Levein makes a mess of our next fixture in Dublin. I haven't missed him.
  8. The last time? Last time I went there we got beat 3-0. Also.... Mixu says aye to a Killie pie doesn't quite have the same ring about it.
  9. What a pathetic response from Tesco's Customer Service manager... It's like some kind of a template letter, which does nothing to address Caleyboy's concerns.
  10. Saturday's 1st half was a bad day at the office for the entire team. The points you make(highlighted)are probably valid.... At least in the 2nd half there were plenty of encouraging signs - for instance, Rooney came close to scoring on two occasions, and Foran's perfectly weighted through ball set up Hayes perfectly for the equaliser. I was impressed with that - he knew he was going to take a sore one from their keeper but he made sure he got the final touch.
  11. I've noticed on several occasions, when TB is screaming instructions (for want of a better word) to the players, Russel Duncan is one of the few who is not afraid to yell back at him. What TB should bear in mind is that we only began to string a run of good results together in the second half of last season when RD was consistently in the starting line up.
  12. Very good......An excellent preview. Writing worth reading. Wish there was some way of giving it green dots.
  13. Just put the money in an envelope and leave it at the stadium for Roy... Or a blank cheque.....
  14. For anyone who didn't see the interview with David Tanner on Sky Sports last night : Craig Levein I was quite pleased when he became Scotland boss, but he's gone way down in my estimation now. Wtf was wrong with Tanner asking to comment on the different approaches he adopted for the last two games? He seems to have forgotten that Sky TV are just about paying his wages at the end of the day.
  15. Craig Levein won't have won many friends with that pathetic post match interview.
  16. Your contrariness p1$$es me off. We were outplayed, outclassed and deservedly beaten by a bunch of Eskimos last night. We should surely be asking ourselves why countries like that have come on leaps and bounds over the past ten years, while we have gone steadily backwards.

  18. You would have to say Iceland's international future prospects - at all levels - look a whole lot better than Scotland's. That under 21 side would have beaten our full side.

Quite right, Georgeios.... diesels are cheaper to run. :hahaha:
  21. and Oh yeah, right.... I see what you mean.... It's all endemic now anyway, as Del Boy would say.
  22. Quite a few have mentioned our first ever win against Aberdeen (2-0 at Pittodrie) a couple of seasons ago. Strange that no one's mentioned the scorer of both goals on that that historic day! For me, all our wins against the OF have been very, very special.

So what would you do with the ?110.5 million you would have left over?
  24. It was the Rangers "backs to the wall" tactic that we saw against Man U a couple of weeks ago. I thought it almost came off for Levein - a draw would have been a great result. It will be completely different against Spain....I'll stick my neck out now and forecast a win for Scotland - at worst a draw.
