Jazz singer George Melly was once asked if it had been the love of a good woman that changed him from homo to heterosexual. No, he replied, it was several bad ones!

Rooney in talks with Hibs
This story seems to have died a death.... Now looking unlikely that Adam Rooney will be joining Hibs, who've just signed Martin Scott from County.

Charlie Adam
Wish Walter had booted him up here instead of Gil Blumenshtein.

Castle Stuart gets Scottish Open
Yeah, sporting superstars.... No doubt our very own Charles Bannerman will be hovering around in the hope of picking up Colin Montgomery's autograph....

As it happened that lady was absolutely fine on the day - no mistakes recorded. How many male assist refs have we seen up here that we could say the same for?

Rory McAllister
I thought ICT threw him on the scrapheap.

Suspended for making sexist remarks about the lady assist ref on duty at the Liverpool v wolves game. What a pair of plonkers!

Top 6 or not top 6, that is the question
I think we'll finish higher than tenth, and will continue to hold out hope of a Top 6 place. I accept your comments re depth of squad. Interesting to note that even lowly Hamilton have a squad of 29. The team we played yesterday had no fewer than 5 changes from the one we played at NDP. I thought Hamilton looked quite a decent side on Saturday - their defence was excellent - they were effective on the break and a draw was a probably a fair result. I really can't see them being relegated. As far as squad size goes we really have to keep our fingers crossed regarding fitness, injuries etc.... Hardly an ideal situation to be in. Time is running out on the transfer window too, but can we afford to bring anyone else in without someone going out? .

Top 6 or not top 6, that is the question
How many were tipping ICT to win the SFL title around this time last year? In fact how many honestly thought we'd a achieve a Top 6 finish in the SFL one year ago? I rest my case.

Top 6 or not top 6, that is the question
I genuinely believe wee Johnny Hayes will be the difference between a Top 6 and a bottom six finish. He was only on for ten minutes yesterday, but still managed create a couple of chances in that time - but much more significantly - he gave the whole team a real lift. Our next 6 games will decide whether we make it or not - With Hayes back in the frame you've surely got to fancy our chances against the likes of : Aberdeen home Dundee Utd home St Mirren away St Johnstone home Hibs away Motherwell home I would fancy ICT to take at least 12 points from that lot which should be good enough for the Top 6. . .

Very negative comment! As long as Jonny Hayes remains injury free we will soon start picking up points again and we will be in the hunt for a top 6 finish.

Agree with OP, but maybe with Nick Ross more in central midfield and Foran wide left,

I didn't see that tackle as anything more than a click of the heels from a defender who was obviously skinned for pace. JH didn't make an issue of it - he just picked himself up and got on with the game - no harm done.

"It was good to see Jonny back in action," said Butcher. "It was a bonus, really, him coming on." So why did he only get ten minutes?

MERGED: Rooney Transfer ???
Yeah.... and sell him to the Hibees... It will cheer me up no end if they all end up in Div 1!

ICT -V- Hamilton : Matchday Thread
Hayes looked very fit to me when he came on with about 10 minutes to go, which kind of begged the question as to why he couldn't have been brought on with 30 minutes to go. In fact he looked so good I wondered why Terry didn't see fit to letting him start the game. Duncan also made a decent impact when he came on - again shouldn't he have started the game? Rooney was very disappointing - still a good player, but his form has dipped by around 50% ever since the transfer speculation started. He definitely needs to sign that contract and give himself at least 1 more year here. All in all I thought a draw today was probably a fair result - Hamilton played very well, and do not look anything like a bottom of the table team.

You would have Eric and Danni in that line-up ahead of Nick Ross?

If true, wouldn't it make more sense to accept the offer of 100k from Kuban Krasnodar now, rather than see him move off to one of our SPL rivals in the summer for nothing? . .

Terry Butcher interview
As I pointed out previously, he (David Sutherland) was one of the men behind the proposal back in 2006, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he was still in favour of it - Link However, having looked at the STV report online from earlier, unless they have edited it from what went out on TV, then I think people are perhaps reading a lot more into what was said than is actually there. It could just as easily have been preceded by a statement wholly agreeing with Terry and all we have got is the tail end where Sutherland is saying...."Terry, the Board have got your back so you can concentrate on the football and leave the rest up to us". He more or less said TB was appointed to deal with team matters - no more than that - all the politics involved pertaining to league reorganisation were matters for the chairman and the board to consider - not Terry Butcher. I thought his comment, accompanied by an apologetic smile, that everyone is entitled to rant now and again, was patronising in the extreme. It's a sad state of affairs that the club cannot present a united front in this matter. Edited to attach link to DFS comments on STV - about 16 mins in. DFS on STV

What are your questions for Doncaster
Great post, CD - Well done Big Man. You should print that out and send a copy to TB. He might be very happy to raise these questions (and more) on your behalf, with the powers that be.
