  1. There is an interesting parallel between the increasing garishness of our strips and the decreasing competitiveness of the team, probably started in 1986 or so with those horrendous bi-coloured shorts.
  2. Good luck with it, though it has occurred to me that this site has slowed considerably in terms of traffic, and it makes you wonder what the future of the site might be. The site is very well run, but there just doesn't seem to be the same level of interest. Is this so, and if it is what can account for it?
  3. Ah mind they held it in Aviemore in 79/80, on the Ice Rink. Was gey slidey like. *think ah made this 'joke' before.
  4. At 18.00 it looks like they slept overnight in the hay field!! Everyone looks so healthy and well turned out--what a contrast to walking aboot the toon today!!
  5. Some slops they were fed though--see those fried eggs?? See the joy on the faces of the crowd when the bus arrived back in Sneck? Like they had been to the moon and back. That is really a brilliant slice of history.
  6. That's an amazing film of the BB trip, really a gem. Must have been some experience for those boys, from the Ferry Church too! Hard to imagine they will all likely be pensioners now. To go there so soon after the war must have been quite poignant.
  7. Get the MacKintosh twins back in. And wee Striker.
  8. Not quite IBM. On a Saturday night the I'm usually driven home in the Batmobile with The Boy Wonder.... aka a taxi ordered by my good friend Jud! Hey, it's great that your nickname rhymes with your pal's.
  9. One in Hilton too, the most impressive mutton chops were on the side of the guy's coupon.
  10. Musta been from before CB jumped on the football bandwagon..appalling lack of knowledge for a so-called football 'journalist'. Ah'm no County fan, but even I can name a few--Albert Allan, Jim Oliver, Hamish Morrison (played for Caley, ye heard of them), Herchie (ffs), some guy Walter Brown ah think (wee Glasgow guy at the front, good player), Duffers and Davie Jackson (also played for that Telford Street team). And no, it's not Stevie Polson ffs.
  11. The Harriers trailing as usual.
  12. Caddie Rats, bringing shame to the Sneck since 18 oatcake.
  13. Was reading something there that the IRA was originally funded by money from the slave trade. Surely this can't be true of this most august and spiffing institution?! If true, would almost eclipse the shame of having had CB as a student/teacher.
  14. Maybe downscale to a tandem mate.
  15. Never quite got what Stand Free means? Free of charge, freeness being a cherished quality among east coasters?
  16. Was only joking Scotty mun, just looks a bit busy just now, will no doubt get used to it.
  17. Thought this was a thread on the new site layout.
  18. New SNP surge!!!! Must be doing something right. Something like 8% of 18-25 year olds would vote Labour, looks like the unionist parties' days are numbered. SNP welcome unprecedented poll ratings Tue, 09/06/2015 - 12:45 The SNP is today welcoming a TNS poll on Holyrood voting intentions showing support for the SNP at 60 per cent on the constituency vote and 50 per cent on the regional list vote. With a 41 per cent lead over Labour in the constituency vote and a 31 per cent lead in the regional list, this is an unprecedented rating after more than eight years in government – indicating strong approval of the SNP’s policy delivery. The poll also highlights the need for a distinctively Scottish voice in the EU referendum debate, setting out the positive case for continued EU membership - it finds that 49 per cent in Scotland would vote to stay in the EU, just 19 per cent would vote to leave, and 26 per cent were undecided. Since coming to office in 2007, the SNP has frozen council tax, protected free Higher Education, scrapped prescription charges, protected Free Personal Care, maintained the concessionary travel scheme, introduced a Living Wage – now £7.85 per hour – for public sector workers, increased Scotland’s health budget to over £12 billion for the first time, and invested in childcare to increase entitlement to 16 hours per week for all 3, 4 and looked after 2 year olds. In the face of unprecedented cuts to Scotland’s budget from the Westminster Government, the SNP has also invested to mitigate against Tory welfare cuts – including the Bedroom Tax. And despite a cut of 25 per cent Westminster cut to Scotland’s capital budget, the Scottish Government is also on track to meet its ambitious target to deliver 30,000 affordable homes by the end of this Parliament.
  19. Aye, cause Nairn were such a powerhouse before the merger Ffs.
