  1. My thoughts as well. One bit of our history we have forgotten in the SPL is that traditionally our roots were in cup runs. We could do with a decent run again. Hibs will be ferocious opponents because they see themselves as a top cup team too. They should have a new manager so I expect training this week in the Highlands to be 'no more Mister Niceguy' for the common good. And as Charlie Bannerman has mentioned there will be football and fireworks this weekend. We will have to work far better in Leith than we have on many away grounds this season to get a result. Hibs feel bitterly aggrieved at their last visit to the Highlands and will be waiting to ambush our cup progress. Hopefully the team return to fireworks and not a damp squid. We need an early goal to get past the 1,000 mark in order to move to the next target.
  2. Not a club bus but Hugh Dallas used the A9 to test the speed of his car after refereeing an ICT game and fell foul of Mr Plod. For those not near the tunnel today Dougie McDonald signalled no extra time in the first half but with 3 1/2 minutes over already the fourth official had to shout to him to check his watch. He quickly blew for half time. So maybe refereeing at altitude affects a referee more than team buses. Rangers and Celtic do not generally take coaches - they fly. Aberdeen cycle of course to save money. Calderwood on the back of the tandem powered by Langfield.
  3. Even Chemistry teachers sometimes get their ingredients mixed up and their formulas wrong. http://www.cipfa.org.uk/scotland/ Accounting for the Common Good................1.6 LASAAC recognises that there are many expert commentators on the Common Good. Much of their commentary extends beyond the remit of accounting and addresses both political matters as well as stewardship issues. The expenditure of the Common Good is a matter for the discretion of the local authority provided that it is an honest exercise of discretion and that the projected use is not contrary to policy.
  4. Own goals don't feature so far in the stats. It will probably be Rossco to silence his critics.
  5. I recall the time you had Ricardo Fuller in your pocket in the momentous cup win against Hearts. He went on to become a million pound player. If you had eaten like Bobby Mann, filled out a bit then you might have done likewise. Good luck in the rest of your career which deserves to be a success. I suspect you will really enjoy the surface at St Johnstone and potentially develop a great partnership with James.
  6. According to reports back in training - see below. Fit and finn. Fri 07 Dec, 01:30 PM Inverness boss Craig Brewster has a worry over top scorer Dennis Wyness ahead of Saturday's SPL clash with Hibernian at the Caledonian Stadium. The striker has a hamstring problem and is struggling to be fit, while Ross Tokely also misses out through suspension. Long-term absentees Steven Watt (ankle) and Markus Paatelainen (Achilles) have both now returned to training, although neither are in the squad.
  7. There is no way Brewster will prepare the boys like Rangers do.
  8. Some great characters brought to life. Can you slip in a small sketch with Russell Duncan and the Heartattack Goalie?
  9. Russell's goal is quite special but chasing the lost cause to have a laugh with the Hearts keeper is the funny of the season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-0C-g-ALrA Notice the cheating for Hearts penalty.
  10. GJ Just being cautious - other teams have got cocky and copped it. We have got cocky and copped it. We started the season under 10CC with 'the fittest squad he had seen pre-season'. We then went on a run which created a fair degree of worry. We are actually on a fantastic run and nobody other than the five Managers quoted above can take anything away from the players. They have responded magnificently. Experience teaches us to be cautious because the drop can be painful. We do believe in the guys pulling on the jersey and hope they do well against Falkirk. Just that Yogi is a Wiley old fox. Let's hope Craig is slightly shrewder. A 4-0 gubbing would not be nice. The management team at Caley Stadium will be aware of this and no doubt have the boys on triple sessions tomorrow.
  11. Well done and here's hoping we get another hat trick from Dad this season.
  12. McQuire has not been signed beyond 31 December so it's good we have David as cover. McQuire also has a fair few bookings and by my reckoning, subject to signing talks and fees etc he could miss the Gretna game. Procter by the sound of things has brought Rossco to his senses.
  13. The five Managers subject to defeat by ICT have all found the experience difficult to take. 1. St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson "The referee had a major influence on the game without a shadow of a doubt," said MacPherson. I am not saying the referee has cost us the game... he is young and maybe still a little bit inexperienced for this level of football.' 2. Craig Levein 'Dundee United head coach Craig Levein has played down his clash with fourth official Eddie Smith following his side's 1-0 home defeat by Inverness Caledonian Thistle....he spoke to me like a child.' 'Even with the players we had out I still think we should have won the game and that is the disappointing side of it.' 3. Hibs were sensationally denied a goal that should have stood. 'There is no point in mumping and moaning about it, it's done and dusted. (10 days later 'Hibernian have confirmed that John Collins has resigned as manager with immediate effect.') Television showed the ball was well over the line. It wasn't just over the line, it was well over. I thought we were forcing the game in the second half and had them on the back foot. 4. Gordon Strachan, was shocked by the defeat and questioned some of the referee's decisions. felt we deserved to win, there's no doubt about that. Somebody asked me how I feel and I've got absolutely no feeling for this in terms of describing it. It was such an easy game.' 5. Frail - he could not recall a more disheartening experience in his career. "It's probably the worst in my whole time involved in football." told BBC Radio Scotland.. From Hearts : Today's match at Tynecastle between Hearts and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, which the visitors won 3-2, can really only be described as something of a pantomime. Clearly the Hearts management team decided that it was in everyone's best interests to really get into the Christmas spirit, with the main character in the play being the beleaguered goalkeeper Eduardas Kursis. Kursis ensured that the fans were kept entertained for the duration of the match, and it was a shame for the paying public when the referee decided to rob us of the main act by dishing out a red card in the latter stages. A match report of sorts (This was quite possibly the strangest football match I've ever attended at Tynecastle. Believe me, to even get close to that particular 'accolade' takes some doing, as I've seen some pretty strange ones over the years, but I honestly haven't been at a match before where I've left the ground with such mixed emotions) will appear on this site tomorrow, but in the meantime I think it's important that we keep our sense of humour intact....otherwise the tears will be of an entirely different sort to those that would have been running down the faces of the small band of Caley fans this afternoon....! Thank goodness we have Yogi to speak next Wednesday. Regardless of the result he will give us fair and human comments.
  14. One of ICT's greatest unsung heroes is Russell Duncan. He often takes dogs abuse when one or two passes go astray. People expect perfection from him. If more people supported him he would be an outstanding player. He does not appear to seek praise but clearly has worked hard in adversity to cope with negative support. Russell now appears to be on 8 goals for the club. When Denzil closed in on 100 goals we gave him great support - result happy player, 100 goals. Now Russell might take another 3 years to get his 10th but for the rest of the season lets help him. If only he believed in himself he would score a lot more because he has great ability with his 'arrows' into the corners. And by the way, I have not seen Russell's humour with the Heart's keeper yesterday but I suspect before the keeper was sent off Russell probably advised him 'his save in the last minute at Ibrox was pish!' Clever yellow you picked up Russell!!
  15. Let's look at the facts. We steal 3 points from a very good St Mirren. They can't believe it nor can we. We beat an understrength Dundee United who even Gretna can beat and whose Manager is less than complementary about their defeat to us as the diddy team. We have good fortune against Hibs. They dominate the game, they feel they should have a clear penalty, the ball was over the line etc. They deserved to win but as a result their Manager throws himself on his sword. Celtic come expecting a 5 or 6 goal victory. They are completely bambozled by our tactics. They expect a rugged first half but we gift them two goals and they get it into their minds they are destined to be European Champions. McGeady forgets he is on 15 disciplinary points and has amazing misfortune finding that Black is as cool as a cucumber when being wound up and gets booked himself. Strachan is beside himself when we score three simple goals most courtesy of the referee who was conned by Lennon's theatrical dive to get Juango sent off. We witness McDonald suddenly showing no resistance to a tackle and off goes Procter. McDonald follows but Celtic with their millionaires just cannot roger the diddy team. We were lucky boys. Then we go to Tynecastle. Frail cannot believe that a diddy team can beat his highly paid team of loan stars. They claw themselves back from the brink and then botch it in the last minute. So that's five dodgy victories we have had and not one opposing manager has said 'they deserved it'. Each has been by the smallest of margins. Luck has really been on our side. Falkirk will be the ultimate test. No messing, they tore Motherwell's 5 game winning streak apart. They feel aggrieved at their Caledonian Stadium defeat and will be ready to ambush us. When bubbles burst, they burst. This is the critical game of our season. We must not lose. If ever Marius had to score a special goal, this is it.
  16. Not at all. We don't want it. Yogi is favourite and must be stopped.
  17. Guys we have to keep winning because Gretna are on a run just now. This was a fantastic result. Falkirk next week will be the ultimate test. They are probably the team of the moment so we need to regroup and get ready for a very tough game. What chance Frail out the door?
  18. I was only joking. Now we have to increase our workrate to be prepared for 2 January 2008. Lets hope they pull a cracker in the last 32 and go into 'teams will fear Pitodrie' mode.
  19. http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News...1194447,00.html Look at Trevor's photograph and ask what Skippy is suggesting to the ref?
  20. We hope you beat Copenhagen!!! You deserve to be in the last 32 like Rangers. Good luck against Rangers on Sunday! See you 2 January!! That 4-1 win against us was some performance.
  21. If we get a good result against Hearts it will show Brew can move on after a big win. Equally it might demonstrate that MOM would not go to his head and we lose all our gains in January. Premature speculation at present because Davie Irons might pull off 3 big wins before December is out.
  22. Further recognition for Mikey but I hope he now builds on this. It would be nice to go back to Aberdeen, which was the scene of a funny but big blunder, and discover he had truly learned from the experience and coped with his 5 minutes of fame. Craig will have slowly brought the players back to earth and got them knuckling down to an incredibly difficult match this Saturday. It could be our first double so has greater significance for Mikey's performance. That aside, his save was breathtaking. http://www.setantasports.com/en/TV-and-Ent...of-the-Week-17/
  23. Even the Reverend I M Jolly would struggle to find explanations. To put it into perspective Balde earns more in two weeks sitting on a bench in a tracksuit than most of our guys earn in a year taking dogs abuse for trying to survive each game against the odds.
