John Robertson had been ruled out as a possible contender by David Sutherland (Chairman) in a TV interview where he made it clear the John Robertson was part of ICT's history and would be remaining there. http://caleythistleonline.com/news/archive...end-a-fans-view

Dragan you sound a bit like Brewster in terms of motivating players. We need the Shankly spirit and I for one believe that every single player we have is capable of raising their game when motivated to do so. They need support and respect and for 80 minutes at Hamilton on Saturday the Inverness crowds of old were evident in the chanting. The team we took to Parkhead when we won 3-1 was a team of grafters but also gifted with skills able to challenge the elite Celtic players. There is no doubt that if each one evaluates their skills and forgets this appalling Brewster and Thomson regime that they can produce the goods. We are still creating good chances and each and every player we have is capable of scoring. The ancient regime decided mass defence was the best form of attack but the best form of defence historically for this club was to attack. Every kid likes to pick up a ball run with it and score. The ancient regime seemed to make it impossible for the club to go forward. That regime is dead and buried. We all need to lay off the players and let them get back to normal. We definitely have the players to survive and whilst one or two quality players will help any team it is about realising potential.

As you can see elsewhere http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/news/fu...ppointment.html Applications for the manager's job should be sent to chief executive Mike Smith at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium or emailed to [email protected] they have advertised the post and left Mike Smith to deal with applicants. Why have a chief Executive if he does nothing? Not many Division 1 clubs have a Chief Executive by the way.

That's that bit over but who shot CB? Was it a magic bullet that took MT out before he could ask if he could take the team this Saturday? Why were the curtains drawn when the press arrived? Will Brew's Car Park Plate be auctioned off in the MFR Charity Auction to the tune of the Magnificent Seven? What did the Hamilton fans know when they bade farewell to Brewster that we did not know?

Gillian, At this time we need winners. Brewster was a big time loser as a manager. His ego was his downfall. Anyone who has a four foot high card board cut out of themselves in their hallway is not a motivator of other people as the great Shankly was. Ian is a winner and at the current time all other players I suspect really want the freedom to express themselves and win. It is quite pleasing to see Ian being relieved of the burden that was Brewster. Brewster destroyed the winning ethic. Increasingly players lost the belief that they could win especially at home. The players have in general been polite about Brewster but are restricted in what they can say. He is history now so we hopefully will have a new manager soon so that the old regime can be soon forgotten because it was ICT's greatest disaster. A new chapter begins and it would be magic if Ian could do a Dodds and give his all on Saturday and score the winner for ICT.

I suspect I know which player this was but it possibly confirms our long standing suspicions. http://www.theherald.co.uk/sport/headlines..._of_failure.php In addition Ian Black will win the day too. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/...86908-21055407/

He was heading to a relegation threatened Conference Team until Brew tried a rescue bid.

http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Matc...1525934,00.html Just to put life into perspective, here is one of our lads suffering a broken leg. Best wishes son on a successful recovery. Here's hoping we are able to offer you the chance to play in the SPL when it repairs.

The logic is a 4 month Manager - good Managers do not want to take a ship down. I'd go for Chesley Burnett Sullenberger III with Charlie as co-pilot. Hearts can be beaten!

When he hung up his boots last January his managerial performances should have improved but they went into terminal decline. As this season deteriorated there must have been a key moment when his promise to complete unfinished business became a true nightmare to him and he should have walked. Some say he was talked out of resigning earlier in the season. We have not seen the goings on with players but from the outside relationships have not looked good. Whilst he helped save us last season, his inability to recognise danger has plunged this club into deep trouble. The board's loyalty has been honourable, but may prove mis-directed. No one wishes Craig Brewster anything other than best wishes for the future, but football management is not recommended.

Those Managers usually had three forwards. Tactically they attacked teams big and small and worked the supporters better. They tended to work with players and create a bond that fought and died for the cause. Yesterday the players gave it everything but lacked the spark that the others created by their passion. None was a player manager. None ditched so many good players or lost so many good players in such a period of time. Charlie knew when his time was up because he cared more about the team and club....
-
Did any of those teams sack their Manager as a preventive measure? Remind us of the three teams and what has happened to them since.
-
Only Brewster the striker can save us now has been an underlying feature since he hung up the boots a year ago this month. He has eliminated the experienced guys and tried to train the younger, inexperienced guys to be like him. It takes more than a few months to train a youngster to be a good player especially when the experienced guys arte being shown the door on a regular basis.

One question I would like considered is this. We quite rightly do not know the notice requirements in Brew's contract. However, poor performance is not normally rewarded. Sacked Managers normally agree to leave after agreeing compensation. Every week probably since early December Brew has made it clear that he will prevent ICT being relegated. Indeed on his return from Aberdeen, he made if clear that he had unfinished business. Some people are currently predicting relegation is the unfinished business. The Board have been incredibly loyal to him and in this day and age this is honourable. If the Board continue to believe he can prevent our relegation providing he gets the substantial investment promised by the Board, are his house and assets safe should we be relegated and sue him for the losses sustained by him being unable to deliver on his promises and perceived ability as a Manager? The Board unfortunately knew from his Dundee United tenure that it was not good.

After the protest was made, some might argue that the team support from the crowd which had been excellent until then, should have continued and that little bit extra might have tipped the balance for a point. Historically ICT crowds have been magificent when the team was suffering adversity or seeking to beat the odds. It is possible that yesterday's late negativity may have lost us a point. The protest was not meant to be funny but a further valid criticism of the Team Manager. Supporters should not dwell on that too much because it detracts from the concentration everyone needs to get results.
-
He's currently a good number 2 - Essen has been in goal for 6 straight defeats. Mikey played well against Partick. On the face of it he has not earned much at ICT so a decent offer elsewhere might tempt him but it would create a problem for us.
-
Making goals for Aberdeen with headers across our box did not endear him to the supporters or I suspect his Manager. His mate Craig Bryson plays for Kilmarnock so perhaps he is engineering a sharp exit. If not he will be told to knuckle down. As a 25 year old emerging from non-league football he has little time to faff around with Brew.
-
Rory had a slight disagreement with Brew after the Morton game. That clearly did not help his survival plans especially as this was a 'come and prove you are good enough' season. He's just a bairn who needs toughening up - he's an under 20 International who under the right manager could blossom into a great striker. As someone posted it is about his mental toughness.
-
http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.as...024062?UserKey= Guy is a bit light weight so playing for Clyde is a surprise. If he signs for them they might toughen him up and turn him into a good player.

Dargo was very injury prone before he joined us. It does not follow that Byrne will recover from his hamstring problems but he is another International Player. If he gets over his injury spell, he is a good player. It is unfair to say he is better than Lionel. Lionel can only do one thing at once. If the ball is coming towards him it is the player or ball he follows. If the ball goes in a different direction he does not know what to do. He will stand in space looking lost under Brew or Malky tell him what to do next. When Grant tells him to go over the half way line his eyes light up but unfortunately someone has to shout and tell him to come back so that Roy can revert to his proper position. He will do well at Elgin. Byrne is way better than that and if our physios can sort him out he will be a very good acquisition and perhaps provide good company for Rooney.
-
Kilmarnock would be my guess given what I heard Saturday.

At this rate half of Inverness might take a free bus ride to Hamilton, get a good meal and pint and still have time to see their Granny. Probably the best away day ICT organise with no requirement to see the football!
