  1. Joe, All right I'll rephrase the heading. 'Who were the last 10 man team to go 2-0 down against the Champions but still come back to beat them with 10 men. Hint:this time Graham Bayne did not give the ball away!'
  2. No one has answered my question - maybe Charlie Bannerman has the answer. Who was the last team before ICT to beat the Champions with 10 men (for most of the second half)?
  3. My assistant flagged but I kept going.
  4. Just a thought - who were the previous team to produce such a result?
  5. Here's the link to the team we now support: http://en.euro2008.uefa.com/news/kind=1/ne...+romania+muster
  6. With all due respect the finances for the club eventually have to come from the wider public and businesses in our catchment area. It does not grow on trees. It is about beating the odds. This year was deemed poor but we beat the odds again.
  7. I'm 100% with Alex here - this will be a tremendous lift for Marcus who through no fault of his own has been unlucky. This should act as a tremendous motivator and to me Marcus still has tremendous potential.
  8. This post sums up what ICT is - a family club with good honest players.
  9. On the field of battle, in the land of dreams, we tend to forget that many of those on the opposite side for the '45 are just ordinary decent people.
  10. All previous posts have lacked loyalty. This is the best 11 performers but great credit to those who made the bench. Fraser, Tokely, Procter, Munro, Hastings, Cowie, Black, Wyness Wilson, Scott McDonald (Skippy the Diver),Nicolae Subs: McGregor or Malkowski, McManus, Robson, Rankin, Cuellar, Darcheville and Fletcher Match referee Dougie McDonald-McCurry
  11. Good post 4Size. Interesting to see if it has an effect. Managing will always be a learning experience and those who have supported Manchester United for decades probably forget life near the bottom of Division 1 and the clamour to sack the rookie Ferguson. 10 titles is that? I have doubts about Brew and like many supporters express a view to encourage change and development. If he responds we change our attitudes. In the time we have been ICT Brew is really the only Manager who has had a continuous stream of critics calling for his head. He's kind of like the unfaithful husband who has been partly forgiven but everytime he steps out of line with a poor performance we think his mind is on other things and he gets it in the neck again. You get the impression he, like many of us, is pinning his hopes on a fresh start at the beginning of next season. Regardless of the cards he is dealt with personnel changes during the next two months he has to make a reasonable start. The first point is the hardest to get. With regard to our season, it has been a little disappointing but I recall the Skovdahl years at Aberdeen when the Dons were regularly below 9th or 10th in the League. Dundee United had to win at ICT a few years back on the last day because of the threat of relegation.
  12. First and foremost it is brilliant to have a player in this tournament. Congratulations to Marius for choosing Inverness to relaunch his career. Secondly, if Marius makes it to teamsheets it will once again put Inverness on the world map.
  13. Scottish FA Chief Executive Gordon Smith said: "Everyone at the Scottish FA is hugely disappointed in the accusations that have been levelled at one of our match officials following the match at Ibrox on Saturday. Football is a game played by people and people can make mistakes. It is always frustrating when decisions go against you - but this has been a part of football since the game started. We rely on our referees to make decisions in a split second and without the benefit of countless replays. I think that it is extremely sad that an honest, dedicated professional has been treated in this way. Come on Rangers you can do it boys"
  14. First of all the ex Dundee boy scores two very good goals. Secondly, Weir makes a hash of a clearance, then panics and carries out the clearest bodged tackle we will se in a penalty box for ages. Thirdly, Weir is distraught when he scores an own goal. Fourthly, Cousin should be given a straight red on video evidence. This is twice in less than two weeks that he has stuck the head in - what message does that send out across Europe? McCurry and his team were well at fault for three major incidents.
  15. He's much better in a TV studio. Before he returned to ICT he gave the impression he could see the faults and presumably by definition how to work on them. At this rate Robbo would do well to slim down this Summer to await the call when Brew realises he should do the honourable thing and leave. In some ways this could focus minds. We started this year in far too ambitious a frame of mind when Marius was recruited. Next year we start as close relegation favourites so should not in any way prepare as if it will be a doddle. Brew will know he will not get too much time. As for Marius, I think he has been enormously polite throughout the clubs troubles and would probably make a very good player manager if Robbo were too busy on marketing and recruitment activities..
  16. We should experiment with foreign referees for big games to prevent guys like Mike McCurry feeling imtimidated after a big game from the fans on the street. It is fascinating that Rangers began the season with a major let off in Inverness with clear Sectarian songs. That was clear because Rangers in general have stopped singing them. Their season is ending again partly on a religious controversy. It must be nearly impossible for the SPL to find 'neutral' referees in the eyes of the masses. Mike McCurry may well be forced out of the game because of perceived beliefs not necessarily linked to the depths of Rangers Football Club. Who would be a referee?
  17. We should pay for the world's first shoulder transplant for Brewster and get him back playing. If the shoulder is a success we should replace first his right leg with a much faster bionic one. Then we can work on the left. We should put Bobby Mann through the toughest diet ever and then get him fit. If David Weir can do it at Rangers Bobby could do it for us. We definitely need to slim Barry down a bit more to speed him up. Charlie Bannerman could help us here. We should tell Rankin Brewster made a mistake and offer his old job back. I am sure there is a flaw in the SPL rule book we could exploit to get him back on a free. We should offer Markus a 6 month contract because he is tall, fast but recently had some unfortunate injuries. There is no need to disrupt things. Bayne's desire to go home should be refused. We should buy him contact lenses which focus solely on white things with nets dangling off them.
  18. Unlike most posts about Rory I guess I am one of the few fans who still has total belief in Rory getting to the top. As the comedian says 'he's just a puppy'. Most people succeed in the face of adversity and I strongly believe Rory will succeed. Far from the regular posts about him I see him stepping up to the Scotland squad around some very talented players. Many of these will drift into obscurity but I believe at some stage Rory will take off and become not just a local hero but one eventually on a much bigger stage. It would be great to prove our fickle supporters wrong.
  19. Scotty's point about Brewster encouraging players such as Imrie is a sign I think that Brew has got over the trauma of giving up playing. Our bad run coincided with the medical opininion which presumably stopped him playing. This must have hurt him psychologically. However, he now seems to be a bit more active on the touchline. Basically his style of managing seems to be changing.
  20. One interesting statistic after yesterday's game is that ICT are actually top of the SPL for goals scored (by both home and away teams) at home - supporters have seen 60 so far. Falkirk fans have witnessed a measly 31.
  21. Initially it looked as though Robbo was the new Nessie. The shape, the waddle, the cheeky wave. Savage moves on and Nessie has been reshaped. Was it Shearer, or perhaps IHE, or was it David Sutherland? Where was laughing boy yesterday - scouting or humiliated by Brewster to entertain the crowd as a big monster or like a trojan horse sent to tap up a few Gretna players with this unusual disguise? Who is this mysterious person who turns up like Clark Kent and then is transformed as he walks out of the tunnel but then equally fades into obscurity?
  22. Brew get a contract out for Barry to sign that will perk him up for the last two games....its called motivation. It might be useful telling the other guys especially Denzil. If he's no chance he should be able to sit out the last game in particular. Gretna have a couple of lads who could be useful for us if you are ditching Watt. Mind you Kerr will be dead chuffed he has finally made it albeit for a few minutes.
  23. First ever 6 in the SPL. On a cautious note, Gretna was the source of 12 points this year. I cannot see Hamilton giving us that many next year.
  24. Dean's more like Gerd Muller. Maybe he is praying Barrowman signs and he can play off him.
