This is what is wrong with us................happy to be here etc. The top-six bit is fine, but it means sod all if we don't get Europe and worse still if you know who does ROSS COUNTY US ============= ========= scottish cup final semi final top six first time of asking took years europe i think so i dont think so in our shadows i definately dont think so Eh? You think County will qualify for Europe and we wont? would be a very, very, very happy man if we do. as i said on a different thread the split fixtures were not kind to us. we got celtic when win gave them the championship, i said after that other teams would pick up points from them as they dont have a lot to play for, cup final will take care of it's self motherwell humped them 3-1. who's up next to take points from celtic.

Because they don't have to merge to move forward as Thistle, Caledonian (and Clach) apparently had to do so at that time. I don't think we should be reducing the number of teams but I do think that we should look at restructuring the leagues and include a pyramid system. Look at the ares of Fife as an example - it has 4 football teams, I know it will never happen but a merger of Dunfermline, Raith, East Fife, and Cowdenbeath would give a far stronger team a bigger support and 1 stadium to upkeep. Dunfermline average attendance 3676 capacity 12558 Raith avarage attendance 1854 capacity 10104 East Fife average attendance 513 capacity 2000 Cowdenbeath average attendance 799 capacity 5268. Information from http://stats.football365.co.uk/dom/SCO/D1/attend.html dont let any fifers see this. at the start i would have merged caledonian, thistle and ross county and built a new all purpose stadium at tore, and called the team Highland. no flak please i got enough back then. wonder if many on here would agree with your fife scenario being applied up here

Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne has accused the two dissenting clubs of "ruining Scottish football". think mr milne contributed to that years ago when aberdeen were buying duds for over 1 million pounds

well done ross co and st mirren :clapoverhead: football as it should be. determine your own fate over the length of a season. imagine finishing 9th out of 12 and due to losing players to injury, team hitting a bad patch, getting relegated. what a crock of sh1t no stupid reset of points, no mini league and no play off's which are only to fleece the paying customer. remember aberdeen in the plays off some years ago. worst games of football ever seen. 2 teams not wanting to lose, playing on rock hard , bumpy pitches and players thinking of summer hols if dundee were better prepared this season, no fault on their part due to the dithering over newco, maybe relegation would have gone to the wire like top six, euro place, 2nd spot. best spl in years

could we have got a worse draw of games. celtic going all out in first game to beat us to secure championship assuming motherwell win the day before. celtic then field squad players for remainder of games giving advantage to other teams to pick up points. highland derby possibly with nothing to play for. or worse case scenario our whole season eg european place to be decided in dingwall.

first time this season i have watched on tv instead of being at the game.we were gash. top priority next season is a forward who can hold the ball up, maybe win the odd header. also a winger who can beat a defender, not just look busy twisting and turning going nowhere except backwards or sideways. we had a couple of chances 2nd half but they fell to the wrong shinnie and doran. the right shinnie should have put his header on target first half nothing on the bench to change the game. before xmas we would have scored a couple of goals tonight. then again maybe let a couple in

heard it's all done and dusted, adams to aberdeen, eric black to ross co

The teams you are concerned about could all catch us by the split, but even if they did we'd still be 6th! just did the maths, worse case scenario cellic champs, motherwell 6 pts , killie 9 pts, hibs 6, st john 6, ross co 3, cant finish lower than 6th cellic whatever motherwell 56 st john 50 ross co 48 killie 47 killie only 4 goals behind us, 3 wins and 2 loses for us would wipe that advantage out ict 47 hibs 46

agree with all here except for meekings. dont think he managed to find a ict player all day with a pass. he wins his headers and his pace is essential for chasing down balls over the top. terry punted munro to play on the deck football from the back, with meekings distribution we give away posession very cheaply. before i get pelters just an observation, i would play meekings for his pace but has to work on his passing.

did you see the photo of tel in this weeks record. he was photographed through the hole in the perpex. arms folded, he looked a right tube. would not be surprised if he will be an item on "off the ball this weekend" and get slaughtered by some very funny supporters across scotland who contribute to this show. i think he is our best manager to date and hope he is here for a long time, but he has to curb his temper. ict portrays itself as a family club. maybe the match day announcer should add to the " will not tolerate foul and abusive language" blurb to include " and will not tolerate any vandalism " ps very honest of you to include yourself in the last sentence

are you for real last week you were asking people not to try and get the £5 pound take a friend ticket and pay full price. now you are saying the club ( i assume you mean club when you say "we") should/could pay the bill someone who smashes/lashes out when clearly frustrated is not a passionate manager but someone who cannot hold his temper. was not that long ago we on here were calling neil lennon and ian macall thugs for kicking a plastic bottle of water how are they not passionate, clearly frustrated managers when things were not going their way goose and gander me thinks

terry should pay up and also donate something to charity as a fine for the bringing the club into disrepute. what does that show to young supporters, if your angry punch the closest thing to you

100% agree with this CD. The only (present) disappointment for me is that we are in a bit of danger of this special season being overshadowed by our neighbours over the bridge. It niggles me that our teams outstanding season is potentially going to be bettered by them! We need to step up just a little bit, to try to keep them "forever in our shadow". agree. not the 100% bit though how often have you seen a horse lead a race from the off, or an athlete in a 1500 metre race. ( race for top six or higher. celtic were always going to canter to the championship) pace yourself and then have a go down the final straight. county seem to have timed their run, especially after their january window signings, and are now getting all the plaudits we were getting before xmas. what would this forum have been like if we had come back from 2 down to cellic to win 3-2 ? we seem to be limping over the line, if in fact we get there. we got to scottish semi, they get to final we have never got top six in all our years in spl, they look like doing it first attempt what looked like our best season ever, with our manager turning down a bigger/better paid job to finish off something special could be ............. well who knows, only time will tell

was listening to wednesday sportsound on the radio last week. they have an item for the last 5-10 minutes where an ex player compiles a football eleven of the best players he has played with. that night it was jimmy nichol ex man u , rangers etc. no 2 at killie. his story re getting zico's shirt after NI played brazil in world cup, hillarious could have listened to him all night. by the way his team centre half was one tel butcher

i thought he was ok when he came on and would play him next county game. one thing though he reminded me of richard hastings. while trying to challange sproule he was grabing his arm with both hands, and if sproule was holding his ground waiting to take a pass he had an arm/hand over both shoulders pulling him back. i remember hastings used to give away lots of free kicks and even penalties with these clumsy challenges. not clever with brittain and vigurs skill at free kicks. ps -------- just an observation from yesterday before i get any flack for knocking one of our players from any happy clappers

Was so blatant that no video replay should have been needed. unfortunately does'nt matter what anyone thinks, it is the referee's decision that counts every time. some people say do not complain about ict stadium anouncer without trying it first. maybe some should have a go at refereeing before criticising Have refereed/umpired sports on plenty of occasions....also made errors and never had issue with them being pointed out. ok, i give in, off to bed now
