  1. Good to see a highland league team still in but shame for East Stirling who IMO have been pretty harshly treated. East Stirling oot the cup
  2. Apparently this coming to light was the final straw........ Just tuck this in love Withchunt springs to mind
  3. Don't agree OCG, both the loose women wifies and TV pundits are employed to "entertain", an element of banter and humour is essential in both or the whole viewing experience would become sterile and controlled Just watching breaking news that Andy Gray has been sacked....madness,complete madness
  4. I,m booking my seat on the offered bus the next time I hear those harpies on loose women start talking about "manflu" and suggesting us poor fellows are unable to multitask. :irritated: The world's lost it's sense of..........well, everything really
  5. Are you sure? On the stv news it stated that it would be held at Castle Stuart for 3 years. Just had a wee check and appears your quite right OCG,I understood the Rennaisance was a done deal for next year but appears the course still has 3 holes the powers that be are non too happy with and the Open being at Muirfield just over the fence in 2013 means it will indeed be held up here for 3 years.Absolutely brilliant news for the area and reward for the investment put into building of Castle Stuart and doing it right,it Will make a brilliant venue for the Scottish Open and showcase the whole area to a massive audience.
  6. She had obviously had this ladies explanation so was able to judge correctly ..... You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have. The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire. Both of you have forgotten your purses. It would be rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes. The shop assistant remains at the till waiting. Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma. She prepares to throw her purse to you. If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes! At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and "whilst it is in flight" you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes! BUT, you must always remember that until the purse has "actually been thrown", it would be plain wrong for you to be in front of the other shopper and you would be OFFSIDE!
  7. Just a brisk walk fae the airport SMEE Castle Stuart location All the info is here... Open Info and this will be a one off operchancity as is is moving to the Rennaisance course in East Lothian next year
  8. Superb news for the area, cannae wait 7TH -10TH JULY OPEN AT CASTLE STUART
  9. No sure why but this clip keeps springing to mind............Motivational speech
  10. Hats off to Terry for having the gonads to put his head above the parapet and firing back with both barrels. That said, i cant agree with his assertion that "it aint broke" ,it certainly is broke Terry, and radical change is precisely whats needed to bring back interest, excitement and competition , but as all and sundry can see,not through fear of relegation and financial meltdown with only the interests of the OF catered for.
  11. The Daily Record really should stop using P+B as a reference source
  12. Precisely! but the rules/sanctions will never suit any penalised club due to the vagaries and lack of consistency which allow any aggrieved clubs to appeal/whinge/whine,whatever you want to call it, as there is no due process and clarity with the regard to the penalties for breach of rules.I haven't heard anyone at Dundee FC ( outwith P&B ) blaming anyone outside our own boardroom for the current or previous financial mismanagement or that anything should be changed to suit our situation.
  13. I don't have any argument with punishments being meted out to clubs who break league rules, but am concerned by the lack of consistency and any regulation or continuity in arriving at decisions and punishments. These decisions are usually arrived at by committees comprising members with vested interests in voting one way or another, encouraging appeals and a sense of victimisation from clubs on the end of these decisions which are made "on the hoof" with no guidelines, rulebooks or independent arbitrators to ensure a fair and fitting punishment for the breach of rules in question. This ad hoc decision making has been going on for decades with all 3 bodies being guilty of moving goalposts as they see fit and a lack of consistency from administrators.Self interest will always prevail as long as the current system of making up rules as they go along is allowed to continue but suspect it will be ever thus.
  14. I 'll just bookmark this qoute for future reference JB! And no, I don't want a bottle of malt on the outcome
  15. SFA hearing is this Friday (14th) not a hope in hell of any reduction IMO, i'm not sure what the point of appealing is but that seems to be the way of the football world in recent years. That said, the bodies responsible for organising and running the game in Scotland are a truly shambolic bunch with no cohesive policies regarding punishments, not enforcing rules that are in place and not having any vision as to how to save the game which is in terminal decline.Whatever the outcome from the footballing authorities, my greater fear is that the HMRC may take the decision to refuse the terms of the CVA and make an example to all clubs of the consequences of holding back on payments which may be enough if a couple of other creditors side with them, to render the club insolvent. All will be revealed in the coming weeks
  16. by the looks of it he got the shoeing he deserved though from that mob that were chasing him News reports saying he was a STEVENAGE fan!! wonder what they do to the players when they lose??
  17. Despite the Toon being meh Engurlish team, ya have to doff yer hat to Stevenage who came close a few years ago, shame the ability to take losing on the chin hasn't got through to all " fans" :irritated: Bampot Disgraceful!!
  18. Always enjoyed meh excursions into the Caley club, but the faint whiff of the urinals while yer eating yer chips disnae enhance the culinary experience
  19. I hear this lads keen to invest in a football club....... Potential investor
  20. Kinell!!, there's a blast from the past. We used to hitch hike up from Dundee mid 70's and spend weekends at the Osprey, lot of northern soul nights , also saw Bill Barclay and a few other comedians (plenty of them about right enuff) the Viking bar was for early drinking pre Osprey and the winking owl for posh Ski totty in the winter
  21. 3-0. February 1985 I think. 0-6 at Celtic Park in the next round. Les Fridge in goals (I think) and Jimmy Calder substitute striker. Yer right Charles, 3-0 it was,I thought that, but Mannies post above put doubt in my fast fading memory and i thought a stalwart like himself wouldn't get his facts wrong
  22. Don't go as far back as some of ya's but some of my first memories after moving to Sneck were Doctor Feelgood at the Caley hotel,Friday nights blootered up the Brahan Seer, the wee bar at the Muirton hotel, a wee serving hatch through the back room of whats now the Cheiftan Hotel, cannae mind what it was called?? the 3-1 cup game Jags v Killie and the their supporters wanting to fight us at half time after drinking with us for 2 hours pre match,Going to Nairn for Dundee's cup game in weather similar to this week, cant remember getting home! walking hame from town and taking the wife into the Loch Eil to use the ladies facilities Going into Dillingers for the first time and thinking it had been petrol bombed and just about sticking to the carpet, classy joint! being bemused at pubs closing at 11.00 on a Saturday night!!
  23. Merry Christmas to all at CTO
