For the less brave stupid ,who are sticking to their own firesides - live commentary from David Begg on Radio Scotland 92-95FM. No Open All Mics today - not enough games have survived the weather. Sorted it for you Charles, very poor conditions at Pitlochry just now

SATURDAY
I came up the A9 today and despite dire warnings and "don't drive anywhere in Highland region" messages, hardly any snow apart from a drop at Dalwhinnie, A9 south of here won't be a problem unless a lot of overnight snow

Not quite sure what yer asking 12th man,if we were joined in the second tier of football (regardless of what title you give it) by 3 relegated teams they wouldn't be PREMIER league teams would they? I do think the nonsense of having 3 administrative bodies needs resolving before the game can move forward, far too much self interest and comitees run by folk with vested interests making the calls.smaller leagues IMO are certainly not the way ahead whatever spin is put on it. Under current proposals and if the SFL get their way to see us relegated this season,we would not be eligible for SPL1 or 2 the following season even if we won Div 2,and would end in the proposed regional leagues, hopefully our current run of form continues and we can rise above the 25 point deduction which will certainly be ratified following Fridays appeal.

When 3rd V 5th in Scotlands top league attract 3323 to a game I'd say ICT ain't doing so bad, but Scottish Football is dying on it's erse.

From a neutral viewing point of view several factors have seen me stop going to matches regularly, as i used to.If not going to a Dee match i would often be be at Telford street/Kingsmills then latterly ,TCS,but cost, closely followed by stewarding and the whole match day experience becoming much less enjoyable have seen my enthusiasm for taking in games wane.I would be more likely now to head off to see a Highland league game if i wanted a fix of live footy, where an afternoon with decent peh and bovril (without missing 15 mins of game in queues) and a pint or 2 after can still be had for ?15-?20 and banter is taken at face value without bigotry and bile. The Scottish game is in a desperate state currently, with ICT bucking the general trend, but change way beyond the tinkering currently being proposed is required if the game is ever to be revived as a major spectator pastime in most provincial towns and cities, many good lads i know just dont bother going now or "watch it on Sky"

Chris Hughton sacked.
Unbelievable decision making from Ashleigh, whats behind the thinking that sacks a manager who has the team in a more than acceptable position, costing far less than the new incumbent, who has a poor record at the top level and giving him a ludicrous contract that every man and his dog can see is not in the best interests of the club..... Oh, wait a minute

Edinburgh Capitals offer to SPL Football Fans
I used to love going to the ice hockey, great entertainment and well worth a look if you've never been to a live game.Sunday was always Ice hockey night and some great matches with Dundee rockets v Fife flyers and Murryfield racers, even went as far as Streatham for national finals which the Rockets won circa 1980. Skill levels were no that high but some high octane stuff and great scraps! Did Sneck no have a team playing out of Aviemore for a while?

DUFC game off: CONFIRMED
I reckon Wednesday was too early for the SPL to implement a blanket call off,but there's obviously an element of damned if they damned if they don't here, however it also highlights a lack of consistency by those running Scottish football, obviuosly it wasn't too dangerous for Peterhead players and supporters to venture out on the roads to Alloa?

Jings crivvens and help ma boab,eh never knew ye's cared thank fook IHE's no about the now or i reckon eh'd be getting a new one torn TWS, yer opinion is as valid as the next person, but mebbes a wee bit research on a subject before casting aspertions and tarring all with a wide brush wouldn't go amiss. "Dafty"! quite possible....."mad" ...almost certainly... but never knowingly a cheat or dishonest. The fact representatives of our club and those entrusted with it's running have behaved in an irresponsible and reckless manner again is not lost on the majority of honest supporters, but as a few have alluded to in this thread, mebbes those without sin and all that..... Aye,your correct D,and that part of my rant wasn't aimed at yourself, apologies if you thought it was,i understand you research your facts and i respect your honesty and forthrightness, some folk however, are quick to jump on the liquidate bandwagon after listening to a few calls on sportsound. I agree major change has long been needed, and it will probably take casualties before the powers that be take steps to resolve some of the ills within the game and the running of clubs. Personally, i'd love to get back to football being about 3.00 pm on a Saturday and a few beers , instead of constantly striving to bale out further financial mismanagement and attempting to understand the politics involved. For those directing their ire and indignation,be assured your anger doesn't come close to that felt by people who have invested massive energy and resources into doing what they believed to be for the best to save the club they have grown up with.

WOW!! How rarefied is the air at that altitude on the moral high ground?? Whilst in no way condoning the events that have led us once again to the brink of extinction,it's pretty rich to pontificate your self righteous indignations without knowing the facts. Club supporters took every step available to them in the firm belief this would prevent any repetition of the financial mismanagement of the previous regime,26% shareholding was the figure deemed necessary to prevent a single investor taking overall control and a rep on the board was (wrongly) assumed to give us eyes and ears and a degree of control. Brannan was seen as a legitimate and credible businessman and in the aftermath of administration the club appeared to be on a sound financial footing, with Melville announcing his intention to invest what could possibly go wrong?? hind sight is 20/20 eh? Over the years, watching the evolution of ICT, i have often cast an envious glance at the financial management of the club in it's formative years and hope this prudence continues,do you all honestly believe last year was budgeted for without an element of risk? i think failure would have seen cut backs and first division football in Inverness for some time to come, but your boards gamble paid off, ours, more high profile and disastrous in its failure, did not. CaleyD, i think your interpretation of CVA's is incorrect in that they are not in put place to give some "compensation" to creditors, rather to save a business which is seen as viable by the appointed administrators. I personally have suffered as a result of a company i did sub contract work going into administration through no fault of their own ,but due to a CVA being agreed by creditors ( i lost a substantial sum,) the company have managed to survive and continue trading and i continue to do work for them( albeit with tighter credit terms!) Their employees keep jobs, i continue to get work and the company keeps trading, liquidation would have seen all employees out of work and creditors receiving nothing!!! Good luck with the rest if the season, hopefully no one on the board will think to gamble on the chance of gaining a euro spot eh?

I 'm open to correction if anyone can show me otherwise, but as I understand it football supporters trusts do not qaulify for charitable status and the DFCSS is a limited company.
