  1. Not sure if its just me but we seem to often to be the straw which breaks the camels back. How often have other clubs managers teams been sacked after defeat to the boys from Inverness. Is it the old story of you cant lose to them, they are just out of the Highland league. McGhee and his backroom team wont find people lining up to take them on. But will the Dons try and come calling for our two masterminds. How many managers have we cost their jobs over the years
  2. Well done to Nick, a well earned reward. Cant wait until Gavin Morrison gets a few starts in the first team as he is just as good a player and would be worth a place in the U21S aswell. Heres to the emergence of our youth system starting to show given the better community training and good work by the youth trainers. The more the merrier
  3. So Neil Lennon wants an apology, because he feels that in reversing a decision and then lying about it the ref was cheating. DID HE EVER APOLOGISE TO JUANJO AND ICT FOR CHEATING. I think not, what goes around comes around, unfortunately its not been ICT to profit, YET!!! Any one else have an elephants memory regards this, what got to me at the time was I could understand someone from a small team trying to cheat the ref to get an advantage, but not from the bigggest team in the country, and then having the bare faced cheek to deny it even though TV footage proved the cheating.
  4. 12th man, unfortunately this is the listings for this current season. With the Scottish clubs performances over the last couple of years we have cement blocks for shoes as far as our ranking is concerned for next season ( 2011/2012 ). Think we are now 16th, so 1 champions league qualifying round with the rest going into Europa league. Fair play is only worked out after the seasons leagues are finished. So it will be extra extra extrordinary if we were to qualify by league position. However Livi did do this via league placing one year, so its never beyond the bounds of possibility, and this seasons team certainly has probably the most potential we have ever had at this level
  5. There is also access via the fair play league. Highest ranking 4 fair play countries, then the best fair play team in that league gains access to Europa league. If the best fair play team has already qualified, then it is passed onto the next best fair play team until it is a team that hasnt qualified for europe automatically. As far as I know ICT are currently winning this just ahead of Motherwell in the fair play league in Scotland. Worked out by numberas of bookings and sendings off in the league over the entire season.
  6. Worst experience at a football ground was Parkhead, back in the old days of standing. It was the scottish cup with Celtic playing the old Thistle, and remember Celtic fans (adults ) sending their kids in to our crowd of 250 or so to do the toilet. We were shouted at that if we touched them we were dead. Tich Black nearly scored after about 15 minutes and we were showered with spittal from behind. However as an ICT fan have never experienced anything like that. Ibrox and Parkheid not a bad place these days for us to visit
  7. Still look at the points difference between us and bottom. But hey we have still to click completely, as most games we are still only playing well for one half only. Cant wait until it all clicks. Celtic at Parkhead would be nice or Aberdeen in a couple of midweeks time just to show Mark McGhee it wasnt just injuries that made the difference!
  8. Would happily take a team from Andorra, followed by one from Lichtenstien, and then Malta, and hopefully playing teams from the south of Europe they wouldnt have started their seasons so we would be ahead on fitness and sharpness. In the groups I would like a trip to Spain ( Espanyol) Italy ( AC Milan ) and France ( Olympic Marseilles) Followed by a knock out round in Madrid against Real after they get knocked out of the champions league. At this point we are the only Scottish team left in Europe after Xmas and pocket all the advertising and TV money going. After beating Real 5-5 on away goals we get Manchester city progressing on penalties, followed by Galatasaray and Bayern Munchen in the semi. In the final we face the might of Borrosia Monchengladbach, in the longest final ever. And then I will wake up and find we have avoided relegation to remain in the top flight. ANYTHING ABOVE 12th WILL DO ME THIS SEASON, THANKYOU.
  9. We could also divert the River Ness to give us that center of town location, stop the arguement that its on the wrong side of town aswell. No problem whatsoever, as its the only bit of the town centre thats not altready built on. What a wonderful idea Douglas. Id rather slowely build up our supporter base as the kids get older, and eventually build a 4th stand to hold another 5000 and at the same time offer those in the main stand a little bit of shelter from the weather, or at best shade from the glaring sunlight that means you can hardly see the game on a nice day. Where would the money come from, or do you know this guy from Aberdeen that once helped run a club but pulled out when they didnt get promoted and didnt pay the TAX man. Get real, or are you the Euro lottery winner!
  10. In all honesty we have also mainly been playing well for one half of each game. Without the Utd away game think that is reasonably accurate, and as with last season we will be improving as the season goes on.
  11. Very good first half i thought, but that was with Rangers being not as positive as Celtic, however as their hand was forced to put more into attack showed they are still a better team at the moment. Looked like they could have easily forced the issue. Wonder sometimes why Walter Smith adopts such a negative formation when you see how well they can play when the pressure is on. Celtic should have won the game going ahead at home but once Rangers scored it was only going to go one way. Think Rangers would have scored again if the penalty was not given as Celtic looked knocked out by the two goals. However its may be a good omen for Celtic, last time either team won the first 9 games of the season, the other half went on to win the league. Dont know if this will work for or against us next week, Rangers may turn up thinking they have already beaten us, hopefully we can do a Walter to Walter, beat them on the break to preserve our unbelievable away record
  12. Just for the record, the clubs official limited name is Inverness Thistle and Caledonian Football Club Limited, T/A Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC. We dont need to change the name at all
  13. TM4TJ I looked into this and it was discovered to be a printing error, they got an 0 in the wrong place, its county 1600, ict 14, YOU FORGOT TO LOOK AT THE SMALL PRINT, MONOPOLY ( SPECIAL CARAVANERS EDITION ) It is going like hubcaps down the sites
  14. How many have noticed our performance against the other clubs so far, we have the third best defence and 4th best scoring ratio. This all considering we are mostly only playing well in one half each game. Started the same way last season with this good half bad half performances. Cant wait until we start clicking into gear with two good halves consistantly. For the changes in our defence with injuries, and the youngsters coming in, I think we can be rather proud, and cant wait to see if we can better our all time highest position. Here's hoping
  15. Russell would be one of the first names on my teamsheet, he does give us balance and protection, allowing our attacking players time to stay up field
  16. A couple of points. Scarlet - dropping the ate price by a mere fiver would have grave consequences. 5 x 3000 AVERAGE = ? 15,000 x 18 home games = ?270,000 = say goodbye to some of your better players. Uts hard enough to compete as it is with other SPL clubs. That can be good wages for maybe 3 or 4 of our top players. Without them we reduce our chances. Smee - its funny how you notice the name getting mentioned in all contexts, The rarest is ICT, but always on the results we get our full title. But when it comes to radio commentry and TV, which has increased with Terry in charge as we seem to get a fair bit of airtime on SKY news with our old England captain, our profile is as good as ever. I do notice our Inverness only name gets some comments, but in games we aremost often referred to as Caley Thistle, Caley or Thistle in that order. Any way I dont care, aslong as we are getting mentions it is all good. Forgot the old Jags name gets the odd airing too, but that is about as often as we get called the Highlanders. Dont change the name, its got everything it needs, respect of the past, and aknowledgement of the future

Id probably create ICT TV and transmit globally, bringing our team to the masses, have games shown all week, from all youth levels up. And I would invest the rest in a high interest account to cover my own expenses as well as the clubs wages. Building the club a new home probably around Inshes, with all the facilities Terry would want. Create a culture around the club that makes it a place players and fans want to be part of, and maybe tie up a deal with a brother club like Barca, where they could take some of our players for experience!
  18. ICT U19S 1 KEITH U19S 2. Cup shock delivered. Went to see the game, but somehow didnt expect this. Keith had been trained by Craig Levein for the first half, venturing upfield just 3 times, and they netted the opener in around 35 minutes, with the attacker sharper to a rebound from our keeper. Despite the pressure Caley were finding the final ball difficult to find and had around 12 - 14 corners in the first 45. Second half continued in the same vain initially, but after wethering the storm Keith gained in confidence, and for a good 20 mminutes it became almost end to end. Caley were found wanting when the ball was coming into the opposition box, with neither striker getting on the end of crosses or moves, but we managed to miss around 6 clear headers in the game. Sub Andrew Greig finally scored in injury time, and most thought we would squeeze through in extra time, but Keith hadnt read the script. Their keeper made a magnificent reaction save from a Polworth free kick and the resultant scramble the ball was hammered up field over the heads of everyone, and in a straight race Keith striker forced a save from Murray Kinnaird save but the rebound again fell into his path. More pressure was applied but Keith held on and celebrated well at the end. ICT stuttered and had too many players below par. Best for us were probably Chad Stewart, David Chambers, Liam Polworth, and both strikers Calum Dingwall and Adam MacLeod having nice touches and layoffs but unfortunately not around the box where they were needed. We should have progressed, but due to stubborn and lucky defending, poor final ball and our poor defending to breaks, Keith possibly deserved the go through. Next up Under 19s SPL leaders Aberdeen in Dingwall next week.
  19. Just looked at the sfa website for the Youth Cup. Might be a decent game tomorrow, noticed that Keith beat Clach at Grant St park in the first round 8-4. Our lads played Clach early in pre season and beat them 5-0 a couple of nights after the North of Scotland cup game. One things for sure, we should see some Goals
  20. Hibernians are regular qualifiers for Europe, and think that Birkirkara have been their a few times too. Wonder what that league is like 4 teams playing each other 11 times a season?? Good luck to them anyway
  21. I understand that Keith game is to be a 2pm ko, but as CaleyD suggests, can change. Will endevour to make sure this is accurate. Its a second round game, with the clubs best performance at this level being a 5th round defeat ( SFA YOUTH website history / youth cup ). We tend to go out in the 3rd or 4th round, but hey thats when they come up against the teams paying transfer fees for their under 19s often. Remember if you go along, it will be a very very young 19s team, with half the team 15 and 16! As CaleyD suggests, it was the case that these games used to get switched according to the way the wind blew. However it is now a rarety that this occurrs, usually the games are at Charleston pitches for all the under 17s age groups. 19s games are listed with time and places on the SPL website, under the 19s link. They have been at Countys Highland Academy pitches so far, at the time listed on the website each game.
  22. Post 26, and I was spot on with my vote and prediction. The only suprise so far to me has been Killie look like they should be safe this season with Mixu Putalineon. Unfortunately, you dont win many prizes for playing pretty football in this league. Trying to play like Barcelona is very frustrating, all foreplay and no penetration for Hibs, unlike Barca where it often gets a little Messi. Now who will be the next to go, with the Doom and gloom over the injury loosing Dons, Saints of Paisley not scoring, Accies not adding to the points. Or will Lennon leave Celtic park if Walter outwits him at Celtic Park in a few weeks, as his record in games he MUST win is terrible, but yet to lose a league game. Who else voted for Yogi, as there were five of us full of wisdom. PS I do hope that Yogi gets back in to a post soon, as it would be a poorer game without him.
  23. just so everyone knows, youth teams from 17s down play at the charleston pitches every Sunday, often at 1 pm and occassionally 2pm. As far as I know they are not closed door events as you can go and watch if you wish without restrictions. 13s and 14s play home one week with 15s and 17s th following. As for parents doing the nut, only ever seen visiting parents ranting and raving, ICT parents do usually seen appreciative of both teams, so it is not a real problem you often see, but would say that should be down to the players clubs to have a word in their califlower like,
  24. saw Richard Hastings in Tesco with the kids 2 weekends ago, dont think he has a club at the moment!
  25. dont know a time as yet. Caleyboy they are making progress. ICT 0 ST J 2 First game back in spl, only 13 players with 2 keepers. Man sent off after about 25 mins for handball on line, went down only to a late strike from ST J Motherwell 2 ICT 0 away to one of the better youth teams, ICT didnt get outplayed but failed to find the net and showed promise Rangers 2 ICT 0 away again to a team who reportedly had a player Rangers paid ?100,000 for. Not a lot of difference between the teams apart from luck and a late late won it for the home team at Murray Park ICT 1 Hibs 2 Home against a good Hibs youth, again holding their own but not having the luck infront of goal. Also suffering from a few players carrying knocks and coming back from injury. Hibs sharp infront of goal, but a goal from Chad with 10 mins to go but unfortunately they couldnt muster a leveler. Hearts 4 ICT 3 desperately unlucky not to pick up a point. Hearts had been the better team and lead 3-1, but an inspirational fightback brought the teams level for Hearts to score a very late winner. Encouraging signs, and now showing their scoring touch through Calum Dingwall, Adam MacLeod and Neil Erskine. Remember ICT are playing with just a couple of 18 year old, several 16s and two 15 year olds, so physically they are a year or so on average younger, and a year less of full time training. They have some very talented players, and with injuries, suspensions and international call ups have been thread bare for some games. Liam Polworth has been on international duty, Kyle White too and came back injured, sent off player suspended, and Adam MacLeod coming back from a bad ankle ligament injury. The team is starting to make progress, and the next two games are against the two best teams in the league, Aberdeen and Celtic - both unbeaten and scoring goals for fun, but then they have 4 out of 5 games against teams in the bottom 6. A win will not be far away and then the confidence will grow, and Keith's Under 19s may help that progress. It will also be their first ever game at the TCS against Keith
