  1. Keeping the faith, Personally I always thought we could still get back up to challenge, and have to say when some were wanting Butcher to go, I did think it was better to keep the faith than to press the eject. Dundee are now in the position that their gamble looks to have fallen flat on their Dundee cake faces. No idea if Jocky Scott would have been able to turn around their good ship HMS Vincible, but changing manager looks to have backfired, as Chisholm and Dodds are the two who look to have lost the league for them, and I bet a lot of the Dundee support already. It does just go to show getting rid of the manager does not always solve the problem. Think it will be just reward for Tel and Mo for also keeping the faith with us when some reckoned that they were going to walk. Still want Rossco to score the goal to take us back up. Home win against Pars to get promoted my choice of game, leaving us two meaningless end of season celebration games
  2. Nice of Chic to actualy agree with John Robertson that the winner tonight wil be the team to go up. Suprised he didnt choke on his words, but Chic being Chic he let out an absolute cracker. When JR was championing the Norths two, he digressed onto the 14 team top league, and professional 10 team second tier. Then a north south east and west league to get more derbies and local games costing less for clubs, And Chic dived in with his tuppence saying its riddiculous that county's biggest ever game kicks off at 12-30, meaning Dingwall will be empty by 4-30am, and then added " Dont go near the A9 that day, as it will be full of caravans!!!!" Absolute classic Chic. He knows his football supporters doesnt he.
  3. Not to bad an attendance for such a wild evenings entertainment. TM4TJ was probably closest to the mark with a 5500 guestimate. hope this puts Saturdays crowd up against the 4000+ mark, as Raith on Saturday is now the most important game of the season so far

    The derby

think it might be a one sided game tonight, and it wont be close to the main stand. Just came up the A9 and was getting blown all over the road . Coming right of the firth so it will be time to keep the ball on the ground, otherwise it will be at Claggan park

    The derby

Hmmmm. I hear there is snow over the bridge and along the pass of tore. Not so many gypos tonight. I have heard the dont like snow on their horses hoofs. DAY OF RECKONING, LETS QUASH THIS UNWANTED RISING OF THE GYPS, GRASP THE NEETLE, LETS GO AT 100MPH, AS THE COUNTY ARE LIMITED TO 60. START WELL, LOOK THEM IN THE EYE AND SHOW THEM WHO WANTS IT. AND DONT LOOK BACK, SMELL THEIR FEAR, AND SENT THE CALEY JAGS ALL THE WAY TO THE S P L. CMON THE JAGGIES, TEL IS GOING TO GET YA
  6. Hold onto your hats folks. Have had 3 mates asking if we are taking our kids to the game tomorrow. Ofcourse was the answer, Why? i responded. Seemingly they have been trying to get tickets today over the phone without even getting through. Seemingly engaged all day long. tICKET OFFICE closes at 4 I think, and after that they got the reception and were told that it was sold out, nae tickets left!!!!!! That would be over 7000 then!!!
  7. Tuesday night will effect the numbers with kids not allowed to go by some twisted parents. However, some will go with it being the holidays and nae school to get up to. Its the MOST important North Derby ever, and I expect a lot of caravaners to come on holiday. 6500 I think, with ICT getting the first league win over the traveling domestic dwellers. Ive heard that some of the horse and cart fans are already in transit from the west of Ross
  8. Not only do we need to be there, but we can start getting money back into the club. The youth system has been starved of cash, and our under 19s are down to a couple. The future for a club our size is bringing our own through, and we have some real talent at the moment that would end up being discarded if we dont go back up. I also think a season in the SPL under Tel and Mo might just bring us to a new level. A stonger squad, and one day I would love to be at Hampden for a final. Less realistic chance of that in the SFL, but i would love to be there before the great grand children are born. Not such a good look a 70 year old p1ss1ing himsel wee excitment>
  9. Beat county, and all we need to do is match or better County, Dee, Queens and Pars and we are back in the league with the twisted sisters. Sounds easy, but nerves will come into play. Hope Rossco will banish his demons from last season. Would love to see him score the goal that takes us back where we belong
  10. Consider this regarding our players contracts. We are a medium sized business, running a tight ship but progressing well. However we have the chance of getting a massive one year contract that would transform the business. Without knowing you are going to get the contract, do you increase everyones wage on the basis of we might get it. If you do Yahoo, everyones happy. But if you dont you have hammered in your own nails to the coffin, paying your employees unsustainable amount of money it could be the end of your business, or put you back many years if you survive. So the majority of businessmen would likely tempt those workers with what it could be like if they were to pull together to get that contract. Give them a target to aim for. It is a chance you take, but if you do get it and others offer your employees more money to join them, do you jump ship from the happy environment you know?? Only very few would jump ship, and at the end of the day they would jump ship anyway. Its a chance you have to take. Many teams have awarded contracts thinking they would be competing at a better level, only to lose out and suffer. Look at Clyde FC seven years on. Players will be doing everything possible to get the carrot of the SPL, as they can all see that when reneging their contract, they will get offered more to actually be there, rather than now thinking we could be there!!
  11. But remember every time we have won the league or been promoted we have always gone on a fantastic run of form. Its in our own hands now. Any one still think Tel and Mo should go????
  12. Vertically challenged, that may be the reason for Johnny taking most, should be ahead of Coxie by about an inch or so. Just like everyone moans when Ryan Esson's bykicks all head towards Richie Foran. Who wins the most headers in the ICT team frontline, Richie wins more than his fair share, yet every kick Esson takes to the left all you hear are groans. Wouldnt mind us knock the corners to the edge of the box a few times though, just for someone to take a pop, like Russeldinho, or Coxie, as if you watch us all the time, the scouts will notiv=ce we dont mix it up that often at all
  13. tbh it is poor quality at the moment, for what you are paying. You would expect better quality hot snacks for paying the extra amount, but having been to county last week they have much much better quality food for a lot less. So when it comes to value for money we aint getting it. Good to see that the caterers are buying in poorer quality grub and transporting it up here, adding to our cost, where the pies in Dingwall are locally sourced at a cheaper price from the butchers that won the best football pie compition nationally (UK) and get them sold at the ground for a more crowd frendly price. MacDougall and Hastie butchers make the champion winning pies here in Inverness, so why go to somewhere hundreds of miles away.
  14. Was at a meeting today and sat at my table were a Falkirk diehard, and a Dundee Diehard. Interesting conversation developed, and both were full of passion and strongly beleive they will be playing each other next season. However, both with new managers in place, conceded that it will be in the SFL, and not the SPL. Falkirk fan thought they just didnt have enough to battle there way out of trouble two years on the row, saying they dont have anyone to "spark" them to life at all. Dundee fan suggested that they lost the league weeks ago, and having been at the game last night said they were even more nervous that when Jocky was there. Asked him who he thought was going to go up, and he said all the Dundee fans reckon we will have won it before the final game. Said what about Pars and County, but he then said Caley Thistle are they only team to have played them off the park in every game this season. Falkirk fan also said that Rossco was conned when he got sent off in the final game last year, seemingly player admitted he played for it and got what he wanted - Rossco off!!
  15. will happily take a dour 1 - 0 right now, even with an own goal winner. Just keeping the momentum going. Partick not out to do anyone any favours this time, however would like to think Ian Maccoll will be determined to skin the Dundee scalp. Not prepared to pay ? 200k to get their No 1 target, maybe Dundee are in financial trouble?
  16. Nice to gloat, but remember we did a similar thing last season. Lets not give them a reason to get some motivation against us. We might just need a draw against them on the last day to pip county
  17. Its not over till its over. Results were good for us tonight, very good infact. Queens getting a point away from home was a suprise, but shows that Dundee are needing a bigger fix than the boost of a new manager! 5 away games in the next 6 coming up for them now, starting with our feeder club at the weekend. Big 6 pointer coming up. Suddenly want Dundee to get a draw, but that would be a tall order. County might take their eye of the ball though. Most importantly WE must concentrate on what WE do. We cannot do anything about the other games. Partick away is a massive game now, as its very possible a point would put us top, but if we only get a point and go top it means we will have dropped points against County!! Dunfermline will feel disappointed tonight, but are certainly not out of it yet. But they will have to get back to winning ways. Partick getting a win tonight will have them more confident on Saturday, but its games like this we have to battle through to get where we want. CMON THE CALEY THISTLE, KEEP IT GOING BOYS. should say well done to county though, but think we set the seeds for their win tonight. 5 years in the SPL and they dont like coming north Hibs, usually go down the A9 empty handed!! Might take county's focus away the closer the Celtic game comes. Heres hoping.
  18. Wish I taped the Dundee game now. Well done to the Doonhammers. The effect that a new manager can have is astonishing, Queens were on the worst run possible. Well done to the new management team in Dumfries. Hope it doon hill from now for you though.
  19. Maybe its the SPL that appointed Chisholm, A combination of all SPL clubs not wanting a long trek up the A9 next season. CONSPIRACY THEORIES?????
  20. Russel Duncan is the professionals professional. I have liked Russeldinho since he came to us. Sure he has bad games, dont they all, but he is always trying his best and NEVER GOES HIDING. His rate of winning tackles, and blocking passes must be exceptional, but during some games he will then not find his team mate. Fans tend to forget the good bits and dwell on the not so good bits. But something tells me, after Pele, Robbo, Brew, Charlie, Brew, and Tel always pick him, and the players prefer him to be in the side, he has something most professionals like and want on the park. However, until recently he has always had trouble getting the fans behind him. Marmite comes to mind. Well, I have always said he gives us better balance, backbone and grit, and for me he should always be one of the first names on the team sheet. Makes us more solid. Captain? Would be interesting to see how he would react to the added status. I would also think Mr ICT Rossco would be outstanding if Grant were to pass it on. Anyone ever think that having such a comanding former centre half watching every kick adds to the pressure, but saying that, first rule of defending is to put the ball where the opposition can not score. Row D in Clach Park makes it difficult to score, But its a team that defends, and individuals that make it spark.
  21. Under 15s and 17s were away at Killie at the weekend. Havent found out the home results of the 13s and 14s, but the 15s unfortunately lost 4-2. 17s had a tremendous result winning 1-4 away, with team playing exceptionally well. Calum Dingwall, Jack Sutherland, and Adam MacLeod got two. Seemingly was denied a hattrick from a very poor offside decision according to Duncan Shearer. Next up Stenhousemuir on Sunday, 1 pm, Charleston
  22. A team will normally play to the teams strengths. Rooney has a good level of pace, so the long punt can be quite successful for us, sometimes. Think Adam has scored quite a few from the long balls over the top this season, and missed a good few too. But yes if Johnny Hayes has a few decent touched early on it is far more pleasing on the eye for him to do a Messi down the wing, with a cross or coming inside to link up well. But if Ryan Esson scores the first tomorrow night with a panic clearance from a bad back pass, or Foran finishes of a 25 pass finish, I think I will cheer just as loudly at this stage of the season. Horses for courses. Aidrie could be a passing attacking team tomorrow night giving an open game, but sadly I dont think so. If we go a couple up, confidence flows and we play on the deck more, but pressure does determin players form too, and over the top sometimes is the easiest way to play into the game initially, and let the touch come.
  23. Chisholm will do ok with Dundee tomorrow, as they are at home, and Queens away record is as poor as Dundee's. Would be a big suprise, but a very nice suprise, to see Queens turn them over. Think we need to concentrate on our own game first, and ensure we dont do a St Midden andthrow away our chance. Come on boys grasp the nettle, go at them in 100 mph fashion, mix it up, go down the wing, over the top for Rooney, and support from midfield, and dont stop until we are 3 goals up if we can. Goal difference could be important, so we need to match or better dundee, or Dunfermline, or County. We cant do a thing about all the other games, but dont think Dundee, Dunfermline, County or ourselves will go through the next 6 weeks unscathed. We will probably take a low blow at some stage, and it may be when we arent expecting it, or a player diving against us and getting what he wanted. Remember Dundee have to go away to County, Dunfermline, a hacked off Ian MacCalls Partick, Semi finalist Raith, and ourselves. If they win away to each of us they will deserve to go up, but cant see that happening. Dark horses Dunfermline have arrived almost unnoticed, and its fortunate we have them up here. So lets hope we get over 3000 tomorrow night, and support the lads 200% from start to finish. As no games will be easy here on in. Lets make the players hear us on Tuesday, and appreciate what they have managed to do from a very average position at Xmas.
  24. to be honest I will be suprised if Tuesday night turns out to be a big night. FULLY EXPECT THE POINTS TO FIRMLY STAY IN THE HOME LOCKERS. Dundees home record is not the area in question, and Queens away record is as shocking as Dundees recently, and i dont expect any changes there. Dunfermline have the bit between their teeth and fully expect them to be 3 points better off on Tuesday night. Think Airdrie will make it difficult for us but beleive with Foran back we will have enough imagination to beat the 9 defenders. SPOKE TO AN ARAB TODAY WHO SAID HE WOULD PREFER ICT TO COME UP, BUT HE SAID IF WE DIDNT NOTHING WOULD BE SWEETER THAN QUEEN OF THE SOUTH GETTING PROMOTED NOW, hAD TO LAUGH, THINK WE WOULD PREFER ANYONE OTHER THAN COUNTY.
  25. Think I would be happy with Colin Hendry, or even Craig Brewster going back to Tanadice Street. Maybe they will try all the managers in the chasing pack, from us all the waty down to Airdrie. Any ex players of theirs available just now?
