And Andy Walker, of course, now thinks a red card in this situation is harsh.

Andy Walker on Sky Sports apoplectic that Celtic aren't given the penalty. Would he have been equally upset if it had been at the other end
-
The result will have no effect on who is in top six at the split, so can be played afterwards, similar to the Neil Lennon bottle kicking game.

Sky saying Deano has a dislocated kneecap

Not to put a dampener, however kick off is 2:30pm according to http://www.highlandfootballleague.com/Fixtures/. Need a teleport to make it in time for kick off

Not your connection I think, 60Mbps+ Infinity connection here. I have reluctantly given up, commentary good, but for me it has just got to the half hour of the commentary as the half time scores are showing on BBC site and twitter feed above. The buffering means you don't miss anything, just getting further and further behind.Could it be something to do with the Shoutcast service being used ?

I am right in thinking that the North for them and the South for us are the same price so what the hell are they on about? It must be because of the difficulties and expense involved in their supporters getting to the stadium, that they think it will cost to much and so the support, and therefore the overall revenue for all teams in the semi finals, will be reduced. So really they are thinking of all the other clubs.

And not quite 2 from the BBC

To me it appeared they couldn't get our game out of the way quick enough, so that they could start talking about all things Rangers.

I'm with PerfICT on this one. The probability of ICT drawing Spartans/Berwick is 1/7 so at home that halves to 1/14. If that happens then, with six teams left the probability of DU drawing Celtic is 1/5 which becomes 1/10 at Tannadice. If that also happens then, with four teams left the chances of Falkirk and Hibs are 1/3 which becomes 1/6. Now only with Raith and QoS left they are bound to draw each other - probability = 1 - but that becomes 1/2 for Starks Park. To find the probability of several events you have to multiply the individual probabilities together. 1/14 x 1/10 x 1/6 x 1/2 = 1/1680. The overall general expression for the probability for a draw involving an even number of "n" teams coming out in a particular way will involve something called a product operator which will give you a sequence of terms to be multiplied together. That sequence is (2n-2)(2n-6)(2n-10)...... and so on for n/2 terms. So when n = 8 as here we have (16-2)(16-6)(16-10)(16-14) Which gives us (as above) - 14 x 10 x 6 x 2 = 1680.... or actually 1 over 1680. So would this be the odds of the order of the draw being exactly as Caley Mad in Berks gave, or just for those four ties being the result ? Thinking about it it would be just for the end result as you plug any of the ties as first, second, third or fourth and the odds just transfer to the others Where I have dropped the ball is by working out that there are only 56 possible permutations of the draw, ie ties possibly available. I've worked this out in the same way that if there were a league of 8 teams, and each played the others home and away, how many total games would there be? Answer 56. As there are only 56 possible games to be played, then we are predicting the correct 4 out of those 56, so now I think about it more, then it is only 1 in 56 of you getting 1 tie correct, once we go into the other ties it does come out to more. Confirming what was said in CMIB's further posts, then as there are then 30 possible ties once you have the first 2 teams, 12 possible and 2 possible, would you multiply or add these ? CMIB added them to get 100, multiplying gets 40320 which is factorial 8. So would that be the odds of getting the right draw order, ie ICT first through to QOS last ? No I think I have lost it, numbers used to be my thing as well
-
I know it seems like it must be more, however 56 possible draws are all there are. ICT are only 6/1 against getting Berwick/Spartans at all, and then evens it will be home. The odds of each team against each team drop each draw as well so the total odds are not that high. Of course for it to come out exactly as predicted, ie ICT picked first, then Berwick/Spartans, then DU, Celtic etc., would be a lot higher, not sure what exactly it would be though as I can't find the formula, but for simply the ties to be as predicted is 55/1.

Full explanation of how it works is here, with a calculator here, but simply put, team 1 has 14 possible draws, then team 2 has 12, team 3 has 10 and so on to team 7 having 2 and team 8 being left with no options. You end up dividing the factorial of the total number of teams by the factorial of the teams minus the number drawn each time. In this case factorial 8 (40320) divided by factorial 6 (720) This comes to 56 possible permutations of the quarter finals, therefore 55/1 against odds.
-
Don't put any money on that, mate. The odds of your draw occurring are considerably more than just 100/1! With 8 balls in the draw, there are 56 possible permutations available, therefore the odds are 55-1 against any specific draw when randomly selected. That said, I still wouldn't put any money on it, and I wouldn't put money on Celtic getting a home tie to a Championship side either.

I counted it at 1:45 out of 5:25 in the, "by the way, these teams were also playing today.", round up video. Still it is more than we got in the last round, and who knows, if we make the final they may even show that live

Up until this season, then if the cup winners had qualified for the Chanpions League, then the cup runners up would get a Europa League spot, which IIRC was the lowest available. From this season the rules have changed, and the runners up cannot qualify, and the place would go to the league positions, 2nd gets the cup winner spot (which happens this season the be the one place in the 2nd qualifying round, the other 2 places are both 1st qualifying round), and everything else moves down one place. Likewise if 2nd or 3rd wins the cup, then they have the cup winner spot and the other spot(s) move down one place. Info obtained through Wikipedia, as I cannot find anything specific on the UEFA, SFA or SPFL sites, however I had heard similar elsewhere.

To be fair to Jackie McNamara, it looks like he was asked specifically about Dundee Utd and Aberdeen, then he brought up that ICT are second and doing well. So at least the other managers look to take us seriously, even if the media aren't.

Apparently he has given Motherwell his reasons, could they be anything to do with the last sentence here ?
-
No, it's far better, this time we get a whole 80 seconds to show just the goals

Fixed that for you.

You haven't missed much, it is now there under Cup Round-up One, a whole 40 seconds of footage, just the goals, Tommy Craig's interview after is longer than the game footage.

Is he ? I know he has now hit the threshold for a suspension, but don't those take a week or so come into effect when they are accrued over a number of matches ? Have to wait until Thursday when the new disciplinary list is published to be sure whether it is the Accies game or another he will be out for. Just checked the SFA site and confirmed Draper's suspension is one match from 15/11 so he is OK for Accies but misses the Motherwell game.

As mentioned by and confirmed by the SFA, only Ryan Christie suspended for tomorrow.

From the BBC Ross County boss Derek Adams on BBC Radio Scotland Posted at 17:24 "We were in total command of the game and had two open goals we haven't taken at 1-1. Performance-wise I thought we were excellent. Dundee United have stolen the points today and that has been the story of our season so far."
