  1. What a battle!!! jeez that last game i could hardly bear the tension, must have been amazing to have been at Wimbledon and get the atmosphere. WELL DONE ANDY MURRAY!!!!!!!!!
  2. If its true, then he wont be much of a challenge to Ryan then, just making up numbers eh? however last season showed that you cant always go by past history, some gems arose to give us a great season.
  3. Brings a wee tear to me eyes....
  4. Think you will find that his agent likes a wad of cash from a signing on fee every summer to pay for his hols, this year its somewhere in Romania....
  5. OK i'll lend you £20 ... but only till next friday -ok?

    mod

Jeez, i thought this was another merger thread involving Rod the Mod ( who i was speaking to just the other day)
  8. Would you not get a bit brassed off at ICT constantly finishing bottom of the Third Division and, from 2015, liable even to be kicked out of there by the upwardly mobile Highland League champions? Nope. I couldnt care less about what league we are in. I go to football to be entertained. My faveortie ever time for watching football, was back in the Highland league days, when proper footbal was played. Given the choice of SPL footie today...or going back to the Highland league, in the good old days.....i would go back to HL days Jeez, have you been to a run of the mill HL game recently? the standard (and entertainment) is poor, this last SPL season has been IMO brilliant, no way could i get entertained at a Clach vs Rothes game. If you want to go back to the the HL - bye bye
  9. Nah, best comeback was the Ayr cup game, 3-0 down and a comeback to WIN 4-3 thats a great result!
  10. Is that beside the tower of London? cant wait to share a meal with the beefeaters - althoughi'm vegetarian...
  11. Dont think Vigurs and friendly should appear in the same sentence.
  12. Jeez, looks like Paul Sheerin on the front!!! how long have they been in the box Don?
  13. Ppersonally I find him entertaining! Football needs it characters IMO I agree with you, the game needs characters right enough, but you can be one without being a gobshyte like Shiels.
  14. Do you feel just a wee bit silly?
  15. Feckin great result!!! stuffed the Croatian managers words right back down his throat, well done wee Gordy.
  16. Its still a portakabin - no matter what colour it is, surely the builder could make something a wee bit more professional? it all stinks of temporary to me.
  17. Would have been better if Caley had merged with Clach. Jeggies were on the way down.
  18. You forgot D Charles! Its a member of the forum posting under an alias, aka Fruitbat- remember him? Maybe technology has improved enough so that Scotty can put that to bed though.
  19. See Imrie got released by Midden, don't want him back though. Also, cant see our team signing many Scottish players, we dont have a scout covering this part of the world and Steve has found some gems.
  20. Better the 'Dougal' stand - plenty of space most of the time, with the odd seagull floating about.
  21. Jeez... 45-50 years ago when attendances at Highland league games were at their highest, men went to football matches, women stayed at home and looked after kids, it was the done thing - i know i was a kid then. The present era gives families plenty of other things to do apart from football, the fans who have migrated across the water to watch our country cousins are floating fans who may find other things do apart from attending football matches involving ICT or Cownty, what i am saying is that they are not committed to either of us. And as seen on a recent post our attendances are up despite quite a few friday/early sat/sunday kickoffs, its not us but football as a whole.
  22. There we go, cast iron proof that Mr Bannerman is wrong about the number of refuseniks. I mean if someone lives in Inverness now, then it goes without saying that they must have followed, without necessarily attending, either Caledonian or Thistle 20 years ago mustn't they. All im saying is, crowds SHOULD be a lot healthier than they are but the merger turned a hell of a lot more people OFF ICT than just those who attended games in the Old Highland League.Caley Used to get BIGGER crowds in the Highland Leage (back in the day), when inverness was about 1/3rd of the population, than ICT gets in the SPL. Thats a FACT!! Fecks sake, in 'those' days there was feck all else to do in Inverness, and men did not go shopping or do anything with their families, to compare attendances now to 45 years ago is stupid.
  23. In terms of "major draw" crowds (ie 6000ish plus), at the TCS there have usually been three per season between Rangers and Celtic. This season that dropped to two from Celtic only, but with two more due to Highland derbies, this makes a total of four. On the other hand many of these have been at times other than 3pm on a Saturday, which tends to cause a fall away. A 6000 crowd compared with, say, the 3500 which it may replace gives 2400 extra which, across 19 home games, ups the average by about 125. Then there is the additional issue of Ross County joining ICT in the SPL. There are possibly two additional factors here. Firstly, I have heard it said that a number of away fans are choosing one trip to the Highlands and since Ross County in their first season in the league, several are going there to see what Victoria Park is like. Similarly there is, I believe, a floating support about the inner Moray Firth which has historically tended to patronise both grounds. Again with County in the SPL for the first time, the balance of these may well have drifted towards Dingwall this season. To what extent either or both of these factors swing back towards the TCS as County ATTEMPT to establish themselves as a regular SPL presence remains to be seen. Anecdotally it also SEEMS that there have been more non-Saturday 3pm KOs this season, which will also depress the numbers, but I haven't checked this out. I think we are dealing wirh a very complex range of factors here. Just a wee edit Charlie
  24. Aye, well done Roy, never forget his goal at Pittodrie for our first ever win OVER ABERDEEN there! what a day out! somebody else scored for us that day... canna mind his name though...
  25. Ha ha, Pele fecked up again!
