  1. I think that's exactly what he means. The abuse aimed at Esson after the second goal went in was loud and, as you said, cringeworthy. Foran was furious, and it showed. (He is very 'protective' of his team-mates, it seems to me.) Picking on and abusing individuals in the team you profess to support is just beyond me. I fail to see how it can possibly have any positive effect.
  2. In the reply box it's that green + sign, next to the smiley face.... you insert the code, then choose which word/phrase you want to make clickable...
  3. (Think you may have led our tour round the stadium last summer, during the Open Evening :026: )

    QOS- GAME OFF

Superb response from 'the ladies' at the club Hope you make it to a game before too long, WelshRef.
  5. Family reasons took me to Elland Road last December to see the local derby between Leeds and Huddersfield. Snodgrass scored that day, in the 2-2 draw. 36,700 crowd for, yep, a Third Division game. And it was superb: the quality of the football and the atmosphere. My brother-in-law, who goes to most of the Leeds games, regularly expresses surprise that Snodgrass isn't getting a chance in the national team...
  6. I absolutely love Wilson's unfaltering BELIEF ~ it's infectious
  7. Fantastic! He is coolness personified in that vid. Love it. (I could only stick 30 secs of that EDL song ) Johnboy, your man Thompson bears an uncanny resemblance to a young Aly Bain For me, it don't get much better than a bit of Kyle 'n' Paolo: (I was at that gig last October. Left Starks Park at half-time; drove like a lunatic up to Dundee; abandoned the car; ran to Caird Hall, arriving just in time to see Paolo amble onstage. Ya beauty! )
  8. Your opinion is as valid as the next person's, Renegade, so all power to ya
  9. 'Scissor monkey' Brilliant!
  10. I agree, so friendly. As we approached the ground one of the many loitering stewards pointed out the appropriate turnstiles and said, 'Hope you enjoy the game...' Brilliant! Others we encountered were just the same, as was the copper standing at the top of a stairwell inside the ground. Very genial. A refreshing change
  11. Holy Mary That was.... different. Hurt my lugs! I'm up for something rather more mellow, Mr Springsteen Streets of Philadelphia.
  12. Great day out in Sunny Fife yesterday. Loved it Hayes' and Stratford's goals were beautiful ~ hard-hit and unstoppable. Odhiambo was clear through a couple of times and should definitely have had a pop rather than a pass. Didn't see any lack of effort or poor attitude from Foran. As always he was defending as much as he was attacking. He doesn't half cover some ground. He lays off some excellent balls too. Very intelligent player. Unselfish. Horrendous amount of hoofing out of defence. Ugh Having spent many years down south where I followed (Dirty) Leeds home and away I was chuffed/amazed to hear 'Marching On Together' adapted for ICT! Sounded great Excellent result. Am loving this weird feeling of optimism
  13. ^^^^^ Brilliant, thanks! Will work my way down that list. (All the links make it so much easier, for us lazy types )
  14. Agree completely about the MGMT song I like Christy Moore.... where's your links to these songs?? I meant to check out that Oasis one you mentioned, but forgot
  15. Wanted to edit this cos the YouTube link is broken (deleted due to 'terms of use violation') but there's not an option to edit days later (?) so I'll just have to post another active link, and say again: The best cover of any song by anyone, ever: Paolo Nutini's version of Time To Pretend by MGMT. Perfection.
  16. There's 5 comments there now. I think the comments 'disappear' momentarily, whilst others are being added.
  17. Yes, I saw it in December, and the Highland League responded by saying they would hold a meeting "in January" to discuss it. I assume this meeting has taken place, so I wonder what the outcome was...I imagine it would have been a medley of brushes and carpets. The link I posted was to a story in The Scotsman on 25th January 2010, detailing the outcome.
  18. There was quite a large article in the P&J about this not so long ago and whilst I can't recall all the details, I believe the upshot is the kid is free to continue filming the games and no action will be taken against him. Story in The Scotsman
  19. Yesterday's programme was more like a pamphlet. Lightweight in every sense of the word.
  20. Jimmy Cliff on Jools Holland, singing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGeCeK85sUg. Outstanding. If this doesn't move you, nothing will.
  21. I'm not sure it's going to be possible to put a positive spin on how CaleyD's been treated...
  22. ^^^^^^ Very good!
  23. John, that's what Not Ready To Make Nice is about: the fallout from their comments about Bush. To say they were pilloried is putting it mildly; they were blacklisted from many, many US radio-stations; there were public burnings of their CDs; they received death-threats etc. And they wouldn't apologise for what they said. It's a very powerful song.
