  1. Brilliant take a green.
  2. This was not a man doing his job but an odious bully waiting for an excuse.. Yes the fans in question were pushing at the boundaries but the reaction of the stewards and the police was and I want to make this clear, over the top. You have one thing right. It was over the top. But my point stands, Dont give them an excuse. I Have been schooled enough to know when to sit down a shut up. Unless very drunk ;) If we go down the road you are advocating here all football games, excepting those containing a large uncouth and uncontrollable fan group will become totally silent with a few ageing fans politely applauding randomly from time to time. A very unattractive prospect indeed. Football requires some atmosphere to attract fans and the type of support given by the vast majority of our young fans should be encouraged and not over policed. It is not our fans who were in the wrong here, it was the stewarding of the crowd that was offencive.

  4. Just pop up to Aberdeen and I am sure they would be happy to explain the whole process.
  5. Great stadium, good facilities, good football and still I left the ground unhappy. I will not be going back to Easter Road. The stewarding of the game was a disgrace. Yes young fans and IHE, were standing and singing, yes the HIV song was OTT and yes there was the odd swear word but nothing that was malicious or likely to cause trouble. One fan was kicked out for describing a steward, very accurately in my opinion, this steward was indeed rotund and had no record of his father. This particular steward made it very clear that he was only there to intimidate young boys who on the whole, were behaving well. If that steward behaved in this manner at any other venue he himself would have been ejected, at best, or arrested and charged with a public order offence. . The stewarding was way over the top and if this is continued then hibs will get fewer and fewer visitors, less attendance money and an atmosphere not unlike the one to be found at TCS. No wonder that the Hibs fans are outraged, who wants that at their stadium?
  6. Both teams looked to be playing decent football in this game. Defensively we were not tight enough on them at the back. at the same time we tended too play too deep at times. Two or three of the guys were just not up to the pace of the game and in my opinion we were fortunate to get a draw here. Once again our young fans were magnificent and despite being harrassed by one extremely rotund steward managed to outsing the hibees for most of the match. so it was a very entertaining point for the team and once again 3 for the fans.

  9. Just the sort of thing you would expect. I would suggest he is happy to be working.
  10. SMEE - Have advocated the following solution in the past and think it is truly the only way forward for Scotland in the future if we are to have any chance of qualifying for World Cup Finals or European Championships -- Create a North Atlantic qualifying region consisting of Iceland, Faeroe Islands, Greenland ( assist/fund them to enter as a full FIFA rep ), Northern Ireland and Scotland. Top two teams in the group qualify for any finals. This puts us up against countries/competition very similar in capability and aspiration to our own levels. This would give us a genuine opportunity to qualify for finals in the future, where we can then be absolutely tanked by all the other finalists. The other alternative is to create separate competitions for genuine third rate teams like Scotland - so we have a chance to win a little trophy and some medals Or due to the amount of European countries these days we enhance the tournament to 24 teams and have extra teams qualifying. We would then have a better chance of qualifying and then getting absolutely humped at the tournament. That is by far the most sensible suggestion. I can't really see EUFA jumping on the North Atlantic qualifying region idea. That would be like having a European SPL type structure, a set up where only two teams have realistic chance of qualifying. Also I object to the term third rate, we are second rate and proud.
  11. Yes useful as cover but I don't expect him to be setting the heather afire.
  12. Why would you want a shower door in the kitchen?
  13. What a tight string you are taught. Oh must get thet spell checked.
  14. Andy M I want the club to have a singing section and I equally and just as, perhaps even more, importantly believe the club should have a family section. The moving of the family section was only a suggestion. I don't think that I was suggesting that people should be forced to move. That is why I suggested some system was set up to allow people who were offended to move their seats. In fact I was thinking that that might be helpful for people who might find themselves sitting away from pals, singing or non singing. The idea of moving the family section was to allow parents to exercise discretion on what their youngsters may be exposed to. I am also aware that any solution to our problem would not please everybody. In my case I don't even sit in that area of the stadium but I do recognise the importance of a vocal home support. You are right that some of the singing is unacceptable and sometimes gets out hand and that you have not complained about it, finding it acceptable for your children to be exposed to, most of the time. Most of the singing is not offensive and sometimes even humorous. Unfortunately and very occasionally some of the chanting becomes unacceptable and unfit for general consumption, never mind impressionable young children. It does after all only take one moron, surrounded by several easily led youths, to change the character of the singing and bring it down to unacceptable levels and we along with most clubs have our share of juvenile idiots.
  15. Great good money for the club. Win this then into Ibrox for next round, more spondulix.

    Throw-Ins

That would be a help. Almost every throw in is done in a slow and unchanging way. The thrower in is given very little choice though by an apparent lack of desire by our midfielders to receive the ball. You can see half of them wandering around aimlessly looking at their feet or worse not looking during nearly every throw in, its as if they have no desire for the ball. I saw Hayes take a quick throw in on Saturday which appeared to be effective but normally the first player to get his hands on the ball just passes it to the full back who then only looks in one direction waits an age and throws the ball to a winger. Opposition teams soon suss this out and some pressure is taken off them. In short we have to get more players in different positions looking for the ball, the person taking the throw in to have an occasional look around and for the throw in to be quickly taken, more regularly, by the first person to receive the ball. Every little helps when trying to wrong foot our opponents.
  17. Could the answer be a seat/season ticket swap service be arranged, by the club or this site, to help the singing section congregate. People who object to the singing could look for seats away from section G. And of course potential singers could look to swap into that section. It would help if the club could arrange to move the family section away from the singing section so that there is less of a chance for causing offence. Perhaps a covering could be fixed over the, at present, uncovered seating area and the family section moved into that area. None of this ,of course, excuses the mad few who go over the top with the language, racial and offencive chants. Get IHE that Jacket and put him on the job. He will handle excessive behaviour in his normal caring and sensitive manner and the problems will all be solved.
  18. Couldn't agree more. They simply reflect the falling standards in the SPL. If you play against weaker opposition all the time you simply can't improve. Still, they have largely only got themselves to blame, they buy up all the promising talent in Scotland and then leave it sitting on the bench or in the second team depriving them of the chance to play regularly and improve. Methinks that its about time for a reorganisation of the SPL and a limit on squad sizes to spread the talent around and create a stronger league.
  19. Yes and a worse home support. Did I say support? There are far too many of our 'supporters' who turn up just to criticise, then rush home and get on this site to critcise some more. FFS what is the matter with our supporters.

Rangers at Ibrox gives us some decent income. Then of course Celtik at Parkhead for the next round.
