It's called optimism, I know this is an unknown entity in Scottish football but in Engerland it is quite normal. I must admit though they do go a bit over the top but hey why not. Why should they be filled with doom and gloom about the prospect of England doing well. To be honest if England are on their best form with all players fit they could do well. It all depends which England turns up at the tournament. They have a reasonable group to contend with and should progress to the next stage without too much bother. (Will I live to regret those words?) What you lot seem to forget is it's not the team or fans creating all this hysteria, it's the media. The fans know that at some stage it will all fall apart. We have a great tradition of building it all up and then knocking it all down again. Why am I letting myself be dragged into this with 6mths to go? God, it's going to be a long winter. :023:

I refuse to take the bait with 6 months or so to go before it all kicks off. I'm sure by the time it does I will have had lots of "discussions" with you and the other Algeria/Slovenia/America supporters. :P

Read your post back and consider how silly it was to ridicule others over their intelligence levels. :024:

I don't understand why the whole country is getting on their backs. They are two lads who are doing what anybody else in their situation would do, chase the dream. They know they aren't great singers but they entertain. Faie enough thy're sh1te at singing but why boo them? They're kids enjoying themselves. They will be the ones laughing at the end of the day when they get their own kids TV show and have bank accounts bursting at the seams. Some say they stayed at the expense of good singers but it's the public who put them in the bottom 2, so they couldn't have been that good. Face facts it stopped being a singing competetion the moment Simon bottled kicking them out. There are better singers in there but if the papers are to be believed they are nasty little prats with egos to match Simon's who would sell their own gran to find fame.

I actually think a lot of the mistakes on here are down to laziness. Some people can't be bothered to proof read their posts. I often hit two keys at once but always check my post before submitting it. Granted you won't always get it right but it will help.

Your last seven words concern me. I do not think the 'younger posters' require to be encouraged unconditionally, they require to toe the line when posting and accept that a certain standard has to be set. If they require to be Forum upstarts let them blow off steam on P & B and come on here once they have seen sense. I have posted, in the past, my appreciation of this forum but there is no doubt that in the recent past postings have gone downhill. If we accept that postings must reflect the onfield/support behaviour then we are in for a hard time on here. Losing in this league is something we will have to get used to but we could still end up in a good place - better placed for next season for instance. Childish postings should not be tolerated. I feel we are suffering from a small minority of 'problem puppies' and this should not spoil it for the rest of us. . Sorry, I'm late in coming back to this (that work thing again) and the argument has probably moved on again. Again, absent friend, I respect but don't agree with your point of view. My use of the word "unconditional" was carefully considered and used because the "conditions" of use of this site are not at all clear (in a broad sense). If they are not, people will seek to impose their own conditions ("childish postings etc. , problem puppies, upstarts) If that happens, like any diverse family, we will descend into acrimony. That's when the parents go "......this for a game of soldiers" and...you get the picture. Accept that people hold different views. Accept that they will wind each other up and if they are young and pushing it (isn't that what young people do?) shake your head, point out a better way and realise it's a long game and they will learn. If they don't, we might just have to live without them. But not arbitarily and only if they understand fully the rules that they have broken. I'm sorry that 7 words concerned you; it should have only been the 1. Sorry Davie but I must agree with AF here, On the one hand you say we should encourage them unconditionally, then you state that if they don't learn then we will have to live without them. That sort of contradicts itself. If we allow any group (Young or old) to do what they wish without rules and regs in any part of life then we descend into anarchy. That may seem a bit strong for a forum but you get the message. You also state that if we don't agree, shake our heads and point out that it's a long game. Ok and if they still keep slagging you or somebody else do we just encourage them unconditionally? You state the rules of the site are not clear enough. I do not need rules to tell me to respect others and try to add objective posts rather than some of the vile bigotted drivel that has been posted on here in the recent past. I do accept that the younger posters are the future of the club but please don't bury us old farts just yet some of us still have a bit of life left in us.

I usedc it once...and the one thing that stood out was the price. to feed 5 of us it was about ?20. Mind you..i seldom have a chippy these days, so am maybe behind on the old chippy prices. Thats the price you pay of living in Cradlehall with no car! I must admit I don't do the chippy thing very often so I don't know if it's about right or not. I think that driving into town to get one would work out just as much anyway especially in my L/Rover. It was nice though.MMMMmmmmm

I remember one xmas when I was about 10 when my dad set up a scalectrix for me on Xmas eve. I got up at about 5am and by the time my parents woke up I had changed the layout that many times that I had broken the clips on it. Not a good Xmas. :004: My best prezzie would probably be a purple raliegh chopper. Right ball breaker as I remember.

There's a good chippie up on Tower road at the top of Cradlehall. The Codfather, I've only used it twice but both times it was lovely.

I know that being "Engerlish" doesn't really give me a right to comment on the Scotalnd manager BUT, I wouldn't want Pele to take the post because if he is ready to go back into management there is a post a lot nearer to home that he should consider. Yes I know it's not vacant at the moment but it maybe in the near future. And for what it's worth I think Walter Smith would be your best bet.

What is this P&B I hear you all talking about? Sorry if these seems a bit random but I've not managed to suss it out for myself. :)

Agree with everything you said Smee. The only thing is why should others put up with it? Someone goes to the match , we lose, he/she then comes on here and starts an arguement or slagging others off because of their views. Why should others suffer that abuse? The answer is they shouldn't but it happens. I think name and shame is a good idea, people might think twice if their name is up for all to see.

I feel that as an Englander that has come up here and made Sneck my home, I can give a fair and honest "outsiders" point of view. The board started long before I was in Sneck and will hopefully last well into the future. I started coming on here to find out what was happening with ICT and with the hope of meeting new friends. Whilst I have not personally met any of you I do feel that I can come on here and chat or ask for advice, wether it be about football or IT or anything else for that matter. Yes there are those on here that only seem out to bully others and slag others whenever possible but by and large most on here are friendly and helpful. I think it is a true reflection of life in general. If you put a lot of people from different backgrounds together you will get arguements and differences of opinion. Believe me, this is nothing compared to the forces as many on here will testify. Unfortunately on here some know they will probably never meet so they feel they can get away with saying things they would not normally have the balls to say face to face. As for the mods, I feel they do a fine job and are pretty much fair to all. I have been involved in a couple of "discussions" with a certain member of the site and these discussions have sometimes pushed the boundries but "as far as I'm aware" my warning has not gone up and I haven't been spoken to by any mods. So in my opinion, they are not saying you can't have your say just be a little more respectful about how you say it. Remember there are kids on here. As for the restricting new posters to one post a day, I feel that would be a bad idea for two reasons: 1. A thread could take days to get going. 2. A new poster may lose interest having to keep coming back every day just to insert one post. I do like the idea of yellow/red cards, then instead of waiting for a poster's warning to go all the way to 100% you could hit him with 2 cards and then ban him. As long as there is an appeal system just as in football itself. In regards to mods deleting/editing posts, whilst I can see a necessity for it to be done, I think that a reason should always be given. This reason should be clear and fair not just as mentioned earlier in the thread as "because I said so". The mods do pretty much adhere to this but I have seen the odd edit/delete done with no explanation. Whilst I swear like a trooper in day to day life, I try my utmost not to on here. I feel that we all sit and think what we are writing before we do it so surely we can edit our thoughts before posting them. I do however understand the use of some expletives to stress the amount of emotion we are feeling at times. I myself have found the need to use certain phrases to express my feelings in previously mention discussions but surely we can all be a little more restrained and limit it to the odd "feck" here and there. I'm sure some of you will agree with what I've said and some will not. You have this right just as I have the right to say it in the first place and that my friends is what it's all about. Anyway, all that I have left to say is well done to Scotty and the team for doing a job that is thankless and something I would not like to be doing. Long may it continue.

2 more cases in USA (obviously) A burglar robbed a house whilst owners were away on hols. Got stuck in integral garage. Survived on dog biscuits and water for 2 weeks. Sued the owners for breaching his human rights and won. A Yank bought a winnebago (sp?), drove down the road and put it into cruise control. Left the seat to make a cup of coffee. Obviously crashed and sued the company because it didn't state in the manual that cruise control did not drive the vehicle. He won, got a new vehicle, loads of dosh and it now states in the manual that you cannot leave the seat while in CC mode. Only in America :dancing03:

I'm an ex "rowdy" squaddie and have tattoos on both arms and on my back. I do not go out to "start" on anybody. I'm sure there are a few who do but in the same token there are some who have no tattoos and would sh1t themselves at the thought of going anywhere near a war zone, that will happily go out with the sole intention of picking on some tiny drunk lad. You should not tar all with the same brush. The lads in the Black Watch should be welcomed. I know that not all agree with the forces and where they are being sent but respect the lads who put there lives in danger day in and day out. Now the guys won't be in there all you have to worry about are the tattoed women.LOL
