I was one of them but have now to admit that it now appears that he bears a fair share of the blame together with Hughes, Foran and the other members of the board at the time.

David Raven has simply spoken the truth that we have been mismanaged both on and off the pitch since the dizzy heights of that cup win and rather than building on that success we have squandered it. If that were not the case we would not be in the bottom half of the Championship and scraping the bottom of our coffers to bring in any players of any quality at all. It needed to be said and it has been by someone that most fans have a great deal of respect for. That said, there is no point in dwelling in the past. We are where we are. Fortunately, we now have a different board and a different manager and we are seeing a few embryonic green shoots of recovery. Time now to focus on cultivating those shoots without breaking the bank. We were an established Premiership club not so very long ago and there is no reason why, with hard work and a bit of good fortune, we can't be again. It won't be this season after our disastrous start but we can go a long way to laying the foundations for success in the future perhaps even as early as next season. St Mirren, who did well to avoid successive relegations last season, are an example of how things can be turned around without necessarily spending a fortune.

It is we fans who should be gratified by the contribution he has made in all the years he was was with us. Very gratified indeed.

There is no doubt that the standard of officiating is poor but it's the same for our opponents. It's bad enough when some paranoid posters on this site suggest a particular bias towards us but frankly embarrassing when the manager make a the same suggestion in the media. Robbo is doing a reasonable job from a standing start and with limited resourses. He does not need to resort to this sort of paranoid nonsense and, I for one, really wish that he wouldn't.

Just the one ? !

The USH is good for a bit of frost. Just can't cope with much rain.

I would prefer to wait and resume the Highland derbies in the Premiership the season after next.

I would be in no hurry to offload him either. He potentially our most talented and influential player should he regain full fitness.

I agree that Oakley should start. I don't, however, agree with the insult to Baird. Not his fault he is short of stature. He works hard and is committed but has never been a prolific goalscorer at any time in his career. He nevertheless remains a useful player to have in the squad.

Livingston at home on Tuesday first.

There is no doubting his work rate and commitment but it has been obvious for a long time that Baird is not the answer to our long standing goal scoring problem. Oakley just might be but to establish whether he is or not he needs a fair chance and a run of starts. That should begin on Tuesday. We still have a chance of forcing our way into the playoffs but to do that we need to start scoring much more regularly.

Mmm. Has hardly set the heather on fire but, like everyone, deserves a fair chance.

Valid with regard to Polly but harsh on Warren. There is not much he or anyone can do about the ageing process.

As we enter the dying embers of 2017, who would you rate as our most improved player of the year ? In my view, it has to be Mark Ridgers. I confess that when Robbo signed him I thought it was a terrible move and the first few months seemed to confirm that. His form was terrible, his confidence was shot and it was abundantly clear that the defence had no confidence in him. We were haemorrhaging goals and Mark was directly at fault for many. I was surely not alone in wondering why we were paying OFW a relative fortune and not playing him. Mark was dropped, rightly so and not before time. However, when he got his turn again he seemed a transformed player grapping the opportunity, both literally and metaphorically, with both hands. He is now a safe, competent and, above all, confident 'keeper who has made game winning or game saving saves time and time again. It's clear that the defence have much more confidence in him and that has given them the freedom to play much better. I still wonder why we are paying OFW so much for no return but I no longer wonder why we are not playing him. So, well done Mark Ridgers, my choice as our most improved player of the year. Congratulations and keep up the good work for 2018.

Quite so. Right in the centre of the town.

I have not been in the 'Caley Club' since about 1979 when it was heaving especially at weekends although never held quite the attraction for me of the Thistle Club. Subject to that caveat, I am genuinely horrified that our club's official social club should have sectarian songs on the jukebox. That is appalling and needs putting an end to immediately.

You could wait until the Scottish Cup final in May.

Seedorf showed real promise when he first came and before his injury. I think he has the potential to be a fine player either In defence or further forward.

We have largely sorted out the defence but, if we are to progress from here, we really have to find some sort of threat up front.

Sad but it doesn't detract from the fact that he has been a hugely loyal and often influential player for us in all the years he has called Inverness home. In a few months time nobody will remember one mistimed tackle but we will remember his positive contributions, particularly in that cup semi final, for years to come.

Seasons greetings to all including Bughtmaster, let all hostilities be suspended until the new year ?
-
On the contrary, it is indeed totally unlike the two occasions both well over a decade ago when we were baked out by Tullochs and, perhaps more to the point, love him or loath him, Roy McGregor's only motive is the love of the club he supports.

Is the simple answer not that they have a wealthy individual willing to subsidise them year upon year ?

Why on earth should we be concerned about the viability of any club other than our own ?

Because, right at the moment, we have few other options.
