...and our recruitment has been no better..
  2. Let's hope they don't Hibs it again next week in the cup final.
  3. ...and then there were two...a last minute goal tonight eliminates Hibs from the running.....come on ye Bairns...
  4. He is contracted for next season on a full salary so would be unlikely to agree to such an arrangement going into the last season or two of his career. However, the suggestion he wants to leave is just the latest in a series of indications that all is not well behind the scenes.

Disgraceful and short sighted decision by a manager rapidly losing the plot but given Yogi's history at Falkirk and Hibs, sadly no surprise. The fact that this thread is now ten pages long without a dissenting voice is clear evidence that all but one think that the club's fortunes will be improved by Raven being offered a new contract. Unfortunately, that one person is the person with the ultimate say so. Dave's only crime is not having been a Hughes signing.
  6. Would there be merit in keeping Richie as assistant manager and freeing up Brian Rice's salary for the player budget whilst having the ability to bring on Richie from the bench should he remain fit ?
  7. Which of these clubs would you like to see in the Premiership next season and why ? Personally, I would like to see the Bairns promoted for variety and a bit of a freshening up if for no other reason.
  8. To be fair, just like his father, he has quite a lot to be arrogant about.
  9. but not as far as the far too often unentertaining and unsuccessful football
  10. Actually, I have a hunch that with their striking options England might win it.
  11. I obviously don't know the circumstances but doubt if the fact that you were 'visibly shaking with anger' helped matters.
  12. Given that the number of points they get is now utterly irrelevant to Dundee United the points deduction is no penalty at all. Fudge and typical of the way Scottish football is administered.

but it is accurate and not in the least defamatory to say that one of the Oystons is a convicted rapist and both are appalling custodians of the club and are rapidly running it into the ground.
  14. By 'Blazers' are you referring to the succession of individuals who, for no personal reward, have kept the club solvent and on a generally upward trajectory under a succession of managers for a decade and a half. We cannot spend what we don't have. We did that once before under the Doug McGilvray regime and it brought us to the brink of administration. These blazers have given more John Hughes more money than any other ICT manager before him. Who is to blame if he has squandered much of that on too many players, including an over abundance of midfielders who are not up to the mark ?
  15. If we are awarded the points and that then results at the end of the season in another club or clubs dropping league places and losing prize money then the SPFL should oblige Dundee United to pay compensation to that club or clubs to that extent as a condition of being permitted to take up their place in the Championship next season.

If you are not saying it's true then please don't post it. Apart from anything else it's defamatory.
  17. Not a bad thing in my view.
  18. Scottish football has finally tipped over the edge into total farce.......
  19. ....and, given that scenario, there is a fair chance that we and not United would have the very promising Ray Mackinnon who has done wonders on a restricted budget and Kirkaldy and before that with even more limited funds at Brechin. I actually think that Yogi has some decent qualities as a coach but the negatives are increasingly coming to the fore just as they did after promising spells at Falkirk and Hibs. The trouble with JH is that he seems incapable of learning from his mistakes.
  20. I think you will find that the answer is never before....interesting times.
  21. Find a single post of mine where I suggest sacking the manager. He has been given a new two year contract and, barring the unforeseeable, we are stuck with him. However, I am far from alone in fearing where we will at the end of that time. Should that be the championship then finding a hundred grand to come to an arrangement with John Hughes might, with the benefit of hindsight, seem cheap at the price.
  22. It is fairly obvious that the relationship between the manager and the board are strained....that the relationship between the manager and many players are strained....that the relationship between the manager and the fans has become strained... Can anyone spot the common denominator ?
  23. Kingsmills replied to ed's topic in Caley Thistle
I could easily live with him ignoring the fans or even disliking us it's the increasingly poor way he is managing the players that bothers me.
  24. What, no place for Marco de Barros ?
  25. If OFW is in the final squad as a free agent then there is no fee due but if he is contracted to a club that club get a substantial five figure fee. I would imagine that his agent will be holding out for a percentage of that in return for signing a contract before the tournament. That way each of the parties get something rather than both getting nothing.
