Matchday Thread: ICT v Hearts
Thought the team did fairly well today and that Ross had his most effective game in the SPL. Real difference was that Hearts benefited from an own goal at a time that was opportune for them and then made the most of their subsequent chances. Much to take encouragement from.

Update on Richie
Better that he comes back and stays fit rather than rushing back and breaking down again.

Fraser Feels the Pain
He was a decent enough 'keeper but possibly not quite SPL standard. Should find himself a berth at a part time club without too much difficulty. Still can't work out why Butcher prefered him over Esson in the final weeks of our relegation season and suspect if he hadn't we might have been spared that pain.

Rooney call up
Would rather he had this sort of exposure after signing a new contract.
-
Confidence running high
Reasonably confident we will avoid the drop. Anything more will be a bonus.

Signed/Off/Unknown
What exectly is the current position as far as Roscoe is concerned ?
-
Under - 16s
Bodes well for the future.
-
Jonny Tuffey
Tend to agree. While it's great to have two such competent 'keepers competing for the jersey, I do wonder whether it's a prudent use of limited resourses.
-
Jonny Tuffey
But not enough, it would appear! Interesting story all the same. Tuffey and Esson? We'd be guaranteed one very unhappy keeper. Or indeed two given today's signing news.

Clach back on the up..........
Only temporary respite in my opinion. Football in Inverness below our level continues to be a bit of a shambles with Clach, for whom I also have a soft spot as they were my late Father's team, lurching from crisis to crisis and Inverness City being denied promotion well earned on the field because they don't have a full time home.

Chick Young @ World Cup
Seems things have changed radically since I did higher geography three decades ago. My memory is now failing with middle age but I distinctly remember England and Scotland being separate countries back then !
-
Signed/Off/Unknown
Very happy with this news. With all due respect to Mark Brown, Esson is, in my opinion, the best 'keeper we've had at the club since the peerless Jim Calder.
-
Signed/Off/Unknown
It seems clear from a number of normally reliable sources that the club have only offered both Esson and Roscoe one year deals. Surely each merit the security of two, if not three, year contracts.

ICT fan dies on Everest
I'm sure that's right. It sounds that they made every reasonable effort to rescue him and he was only abandoned when it became clear that any further effort was futile and would imperil the rest of the group. Those who engage in extreme altitude mountaineering appreciate the riks and the brutal consequences of such an unfortunate happening.

Signed/Off/Unknown
.....and then there were two.....

Calderwood leaves Killie
Derek Adams to Killie ?
-
Dundee United chairman slagging us off
On the contrary, just like his father, he is in my opinion, one of the better club chairmen in Scottish football.
-
Dundee United chairman slagging us off
To be fair, I can see his point. ICT being promoted instead of his city neighbours is likely to cost his club ?60,000 next season.

League Cup Draw made tomorrow
Can't complain.
-
Jonny Tuffey
Like most posting on this thread, I'd preferit if Esson stayed but Tuffey would be an adaquate replacement if he didn't.
-
Kyle Allison
I'm pleased that the boy has got fixed up. Personally, I've not seen enough of the boy to judge whether or not he's a decent prospect.
-
Stuart and Roy sign up
I suspect that both will be squad players rather than regular starters but pleased with the news nevertheless.
-
Kenny Cameron
Progressive appointment. Very welcome news.

Pavels left United?
To be fair to Peter Houston, Pavels had a couple of very poor performances indeed before falling out of favour maybe because he was played out of position. I would still be happy to see him return to the TCS.

Party Or Parade or Something?
I don't think winning the First Division is worthy of formal civic recognition. Let's wait until we win one of the two major cup competitions.
