  1. I agree that Broadfoot is hardly an inspiring signing but he is a seasoned professional who played over 30 times in the Premiership last season. We have a very limited budget for players so, if KB is prepared to come within it, then it seems to me to be a decent signing provided it is on a one year deal. It's not confined yet but, if he does come, don't condemn the lad before he's even kicked a single ball for us or pulled on that rather meh new home shirt.
  2. Not the worst strip we've ever had but far from the best either. I am with Gringo, the stripes are far too narrow and it lacks back trim which would better reflect our heritage.
  3. The caveat being that this story appears in the Daily Record. However, if true, while he is clearly not one for the future, on a one year contract, he would add some experience and guile to our defence for our promotion push this coming season.
  4. Congratulations to Denmark, population broadly similar to Scotland, on reaching the semi finals without their best player having previously won the tournament in 1992. Scotland, population broadly similar to Denmark, by contrast have never emerged from the group stage either in this competition or the World Cup in almost seven decades of trying. Clearly we are doing something wrong and have been for a very long time.
  5. Not a big issue as we would be unlikely to top a thousand for these games anyway. Hopefully, be at least twice that for the start of the league season and much closer to normal soon after that.
  6. I agree. Loan signings should always be an option but with a huge preference for the loan being for the entire season rather than the parent club having the option to terminate mid season.
  7. One reason we can still afford to have a full time squad this coming season. Always disappointing to lose a player of his ability and potential but a necessity. If we can bag another two or three hundred thousand if and when Hibs sell him on then so much the better. Hopefully, by then, we can use it to bolster our Premiership campaign rather than to survive in the Championship.
  8. Sound about right. Would have been more than twice that three or four years ago.
  9. Red and blue stripes with black collar and cuffs. Certainly nothing that confuses our shirts with any other team in Scotland who traditionally play in blue as has, too often, been the case in the past.
  10. I can't agree. There are other more vulnerable people yet to receive a second dose. Given that these are fit young athletes, whilst there are no certainties, any virus they do contract is likely to result in mild, or no, symptoms even without the protection of vaccination.
  11. Continuing poor communication. John Robertson remains a full time employee of the club. He is an excellent communicator and will have far less to do these days on the footballing front. If nobody else at the club has either the time or the enthusiasm for the task them surely JR can be allocated this important task.
  12. I suspect that it will continue to have some impact well beyond the start of the competitive season. However, the odd football match being postponed or even cancelled is a very minor irritation indeed as long as the vaccination programme does it's job and protects the vast majority of those most vulnerable from serious illness.
  13. No. It will continue to happen for a while yet. However, that is no reason not to be clear and honest. Sadly, adequate communication continues to be an ongoing issue at our club despite repeated promises to remedy the problem.
  14. Probably the most taxing pre season game we had arranged so a bit of a blow. I wonder if there will be any scope for arranging a closed door match against either County or Elgin instead ?
  15. We will have a much better idea once many of our international players, playing for their various countries, return from the Euros.
  16. Did you have a tenner on Matt Hancock still being Health Secretary on Monday ? There must be some reason for that level of grumpiness following a gentle pre season workout which, when all said and done, we won.
  17. Yes. He has been part of our academy set up.
  18. Early days but a very slight concern that we were not able to score from open play against a mid table Highland League team. Positive though that we have now gone two games without conceding.
  19. I think it is clear that they were both out of contract this month. Given the, at best, patchy communication by the club, signing new contracts which the club is being tardy in announcing seems the most likely.
  20. In the interests of safety, please make your tenner into a paper plane and attempt to flight it into the bucket from a minimum distance of 2 metres.
  21. I very much doubt that it would have been the manager who negotiated the sell on clause, or the transfer fee for that matter.
  22. A bit of a bias towards Raigmore but I entirely agree. There is nothing at all wrong with Dalneigh, or any other part of town for that matter.
  23. It is in the nature of rumours to be unsubstantiated, otherwise they would be facts.
  24. The magic disappeared quite some time ago.
  25. He should feel right at home in Monte Carlo. Very similar to Dalneigh I understand.
