  1. Eh? is there even a full stop in there somewhere...??
  2. Glen Johnson, on a season-long stay from Chelsea, and Millwall striker Ben May were caught at B&Q in Dartford on Wednesday. The pair were spotted by a security guard putting a toilet seat into a box with a cheaper price tag before they reached the checkout, according to reports. They also avoided paying for a set of taps by concealing them underneath a sink at the checkout. A worker at the store told The Sun: "We all recognised Johnson. No one could quite believe a bloke like him, with all that money, would be moronic enough to nick a toilet seat. But that's what him and May were doing. "They were spotted by one of our security guards, a chap of 74, and cops arrived as they were trying to leave. "They seemed to find the whole thing funny and couldn't stop smirking even after they had been arrested." A Kent Police spokesman said: "Kent Police arrested two 22-year-old men on Wednesday on suspicion of theft in Dartford. "Both men have been issued with £80 fixed penalty notices." Gary Double, Portsmouth's director of communications, said: "We won't be making a statement." A Millwall spokeswoman also refused to comment.
  3. Well it makes sense to limit the tickets to two per member, since there are 23,000 in the SSC now. There will still be a couple of thousand tickets to issue to corporate sponsors etc, not to mention the Georgia fans!! say each get 2,000 23,000x2= 46,000 2,000x2= 4,000 = 50,000 4,000 odd for general sale. I think its quite sensible to limit it to 2 per member.
  4. what a hassle that was!! They went on sale to supporters club members today, but the internet ordering site doesn't work, so then ended up holding on the phone for 45mins (whilst at work, needing a pee)... but finally got through and got two tickets in North Stand Section D1 row 24. Glad i got the two, as there is no guarantee of getting 2 for anyone who fails to order theirs in the next few days. Could be a little as 4000-5000 available for public sale... that'll be fun for the phone operators!! I can relax now :021:
  5. Extra time and penalties please Lots of snow and hailstones please Lots of Hibs injuries please A couple of Hibs red cards please John Collins sent to the stands please Aberdeen players pass on the flu to Hibs players please ... its not like i'm asking for much!?
  6. What like are our reserve defenders? The under 19s? Anyone seen them play?
  7. Also... just spotted this on TeamTalk.com: Charlie Christie says... Inverness manager Charlie Christie will give long-term understudy Michael Fraser the chance to replace Mark Brown. "Michael did well at Celtic a couple of months ago and he's a very good 'keeper, who has worked with Mark for four years," said Christie. "He'll play against Hibs on Sunday and he'll get his chance. "But that leaves us a keeper short and we're looking around to bring one in."
  8. On the bench at Aberdeen. According to Dons fans he's been awful for their reserves, and lets face it... If you are no.2 to Langfield you must be terrible!! I think the best thing would be to get someone experienced in to challenge for the no.1 spot. I still think Fraser should be our number 1, but it would be handy to have someone there to pass on advice like Brown probably has over the years. Steve Banks at Hearts is a good example, but would maybe be on too much wages.
  9. I think Esson may actually be worse than Langfield :018: Last seasons fattest SPL goalkeeper
  10. I'm quite excited at the prospect of Fraser being our No.1, always been impressed with him and considered him a more complete goalkeeper than Brown. Tempted to head through to Inverness on Sunday now... :024:
  11. ... and the thread decends into pointlessness... :020:
  12. Reading Teletext the other day, it seemed that Black was on the bench at Aberdeen as he was under 21... but CC didn't plan on using him at all because he thought he was suspended for the match. If he got subbed on we'd of been fined 'if he was suspended', but not fined if he's on the bench and doesn't get on?? Can someone clarify that rule.
  13. Renton at Elgin City? Banks at Hearts? My mum is a teacher at Elgin Academy, and one of her pupils is on the books of Caley and is supposed to be an amazing keeper. Over 6 foot, and still only 15 or 16. Way too early for him just now, but interesting none the less
  14. RossP replied to maimie's topic in Caley Thistle
Must admit i choked on my breakfast this morning when the headline came up on teletext!! Mark has been a great keeper for us over the years, and have won and saved matches with some great shot stopping. However... Like most i agree that he has a fair few weaknesses, kicking etc. Mike Fraser has been excellent every time i've seen him, but i also agree we need someone to challenge him for the No.1 jersey, as Smith needs more porridge to grow a bit. Renton at Elgin City anyone?? He was excellent against Caley in Pre-season :024:
  15. Ha!! I didn't give him any sympathy whatsoever

As an ICT fan who lives and works in Aberdeen, the longer we go without a win the harder life gets here in the granite city. Especially when you work with kids that all know i support Caley :009: Can't wait for the game tomorrow, hopefully we put in a great performance that is well worth the 3 points. Here is the Aberdeen team news by the way... Zander Diamond (looks a bit like this guy :017: ) ... well he is suspended unfortunately for us :004: Richie Byrne (hamstring) and Jamie Smith (groin) are still out. Smith will see a specialist on Saturday to determine the next step in his rehabilitation. Richard Foster and Michael Hart both picked up slight strains against Hibernian, but should recover in time for the weekend. Aberdeen (from): Langfield, Anderson, Considine, Lovell, Foster, Nicholson, Maguire, Severin, Clark, Miller, Mackie, Brewster, Hart, Dempsey, Touzani, Soutar, D Smith, Donald, Winter.

I'm one of those McBain doubters as well, but like the other opinions i must admit he has improved over the last 3 games. If he performs well consistently then by all means he should be in our first 11; but up until those 3 games he's been pretty poor. I say keep him in, playing at centre mid; and if his form deteriorates then bench him for a couple of games. Only fair i think.
  18. A couple of Blue Brazil fans opinions on PieandBovril.com Teams which have suffered from Markus's play usually put two markers on him. He's one of these guys who drifts past defenders as if they weren't there - not only that, he scores goals and puts in a hard shift. He's not a diver - when he accelerates past bamboozled defenders the only thing they can do is to take him out in mid flight. If you want to see what I mean, visit what passes for a football pitch in Brechin next Tuesday evening and see the tactics employed to "mark" Markus. I hope you don't get him, but he should be playing at a higher level.Gary Smith will have told Dundee all they need to know. Be prepared to sign a sixeable cheque - he helped us win the championship and he'll keep us in the second division this season (or even grab a play-off spot.) £30k should get him, and good luck to him, he's a good player The reason he spends much of his time on his arse, belly, back, knees and elbows is because he's been kicked up in the air by defenders who know that they're about to be skinned yet again. One of the things I admire about MP is that he doesn't do the histrionics or the petted lip, nor does he plead with the ref to get opponents sent off. He gets up, dusts himself down, beats the guy once more, and gets kicked again. He's a good player but he's a diving b*****d that looks like a wummin! His attempt at winning a penalty against us the other week was the worst dive I've seen since Martin Prest! He then got up to petulantly point at the blade of grass he believed was the culprit! I would love him in a Rovers top though Think MARKUS deserves a bigger club. He puts a good shift in and has the unbelievable knack of getting by players as if they werent there. great player. The next Barry Wilson??
  19. It canna be that long before there are a good few songs criticising his decision, to sing on the terraces. Until then though, hope every SPL ground gives him dog's abuse
  20. RossP replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
£21 !! Has that gone up a whole £1 since last year?? Although, i was a student every year we played Dons at pittodrie, so only paid concession
  21. I'm of the opinion Mike Fraser could be a better keeper than Broonie too :022: I've seen all his performances for the first X1, including that 45mins in our debut season; and every time have been really impressed. If Brown does go, i'd rather he leave in the December window for a fee, than sign a pre-contract and leave in the summer.
  22. The Daily Ranger is saying that Mark has spoken with Falkirk, but is also waiting to see if Inverness give him an improved offer.

Ah... the tie i look most forward to in the season. Since i live in Aberdeen, it is brilliant to be able to make a game without having to endure hours of public transport. Also means i can meet up with all my Dons supporting mates before and after the game for a good bit of banter (still waiting for that Caley win!) Lets hope the game on wednesday crocks a few Dons players.
  24. From what i understand it, both sides agree on the ticket price. Then the gate receipts are distributed 50/50 after expenses (security etc). Thats why teams like Dumbarton look forward to a pay day when they played at Parkhead.. ... By the way, only about 16-18000 in Parkhead, which included 2,000 Dumbarton fans!! Shocking. Especially from the 'so called best fans in the world' :015: :023: Every time i've been to parkhead to see ICT, the Celtic fans have been quieter than our home fans! They leave about 20mins before the end. Several get chucked out for making gestures to the away end. Best fans, my arse.
  25. BBC Report Craig Dargo returned to the Inverness starting line-up to ensure there was no Scottish Cup upset at Forthbank. The fit-again striker shot home from close in after eight minutes and Dennis Wyness added a neat volley. David O'Brien replied with a low strike in off the post but Roy McBain drilled in for the visitors and Dargo bagged a long range cracker before the interval. Barry Wilson blazed in a shot and Alan Morgan completed the rout with a close range finish. Inverness began impressively and opened up a two-goal lead inside the first 13 minutes. Following misses from Graham Bayne and Ross Tokely, the breakthrough came when John Rankin dispossessed Steven Bell and crossed for Dargo to bundle the ball past Myles Hogarth. Soon after, McBain's lofted pass was knocked back by Bayne and Wyness lashed home a brilliant volley from 18 yards. The Second Division side hit back almost immediately after O'Brien ran on to a John Fraser pass and beat Mark Brown with a low shot. But Caledonian Thistle soon restored their two-goal advantage when McBain collected a loose ball and found the net after his initial shot struck the legs of team-mate Wyness. Four minutes before the interval, a moment of magic from Dargo saw the visitors settle the tie. The forward took possession in a congested area of the pitch, before hitting a superb 25-yard chip over the head of the stranded Hogarth. Inverness showed no signs of dropping the pace in the second half and only two minutes following the restart the Highlanders scored again. Wilson collected the ball 30 yards from goal and drove forward positively, prior to firing a low drive past Hogarth. Rankin then fed the ball to substitute Morgan and the former Blackburn trainee managed to slip the ball home from an acute angle.
