  6. Real rivals IMO are also livi. It's died of death recently but the rivalry up the divisions ensured some cracking games.
  7. Thats an excellent appointment, It really is showing the ambition of the club to get back into the SPL. I just hope they aren't falling back into the trap of over spending to get there.

  9. I read an article that showed he had the best record over the past 5 or 6 managers with a 67% win ratio, Sven was 2nd and Glenn Hoddle was third. Think it was Terry Venables 4th, Steve Mclaren 5th and Kevin Keegan 6th.
  10. This wouldn't even happen in Football Manager!
  11. Watch the first goal back again. yes Tokely missed the ball but Samaras was being marked by proctor who didn't react when he (Samaras) moved off him. Thats a bit rich, Rig. You've made it clear in other posts that you have no time for Proctor, but implicating him in this Tokely blunder is stretching it, even for you. Isn't his error for the penalty enough for you? I agree Proctor should have been tracking Samaras, This is what let him get free in the first place to get his shot off. Tokely was however the main culprit, as should be Tuffey for not being save that shot regardless of the swerve.
  12. I've been looking forward to that game for a while now and to be honest it bored me. Up until their first goal the game was going well and we were holding our own. Then a lapse from Tokely, Proctor and Tuffey means we concede a very soft goal. 2 minutes later and Tokely was at it again but this time he was even more stupid, rolling the ball back to Tuffey with Hooper in his way but luckily we got away with it. The goal in the 2nd half was just as bad, Proctors attempt to block Hooper and allow the ball to roll out evidently failed and Proctor in a clumsy panic barges into Hooper for us to concede yet another penalty this season. Hooper might have gone down easily but there can't be any complaints as there was definate contact, Proctor had no chance of getting the ball and was reckless. We created a couple decent chances and had a claim for a penalty at one stage but apart from that this game was just going through the motions and was a very routine 2-0 win to Celtic. I thought Nick Ross was doing fairly decent today and was surprised when it was him coming off and not Hayes who had a complete nightmare, I don't know if it was because he was pushed to far forward but he never got going in the match at all. A bit of hope came when Sutherland and Gnapka were brought on and Sutherland looked promising and for 10 minutes we looked like we might equalise but our pressure came to nothing. Gnapka had a very poor game and if i hadn't heard of all the hype from the last match i'd have thought he was a mediocre player at best. Pass marks today are for Gillet and Shinnie but overall a poor performance from us. We went on a great run unbeaten so to lose today isn't really a surprise just a bit dissapointing to lose out on Hampden yet again. Maybe next week we can get the shock win we all crave.
  13. Noticed this shirt on Toffs a few years back.
  14. I'm not convinced another season with ICT would make him a regular with Celtic the following year. He's still going to have to take the gamble of first team action whether he leaves here this summer or in 2 years. Hayes is 24 now and will be hitting his prime, he is already a class act but IMO if he is to improve he needs to be playing at a higher level. I bet Adam Rooney has grown as a player over the last 6 months by just being a part of the Birmingham squad. Training with a bigger team with better players is going to have an effect on a player and Hayes deserves his chance at a bigger club. I want Hayes to stay badly, he's our best player but after seeing so many of our big name players leave i'm not confident at all he will be staying. We should be already looking for replacements so we don't fall into the same situation we had with Rooney last year.
  15. I used to get into the terracing for £3 as an under 16 in the first division. I don't get your point here? That was 8 years ago. I'm talking about our first division prices 2 seasons ago which I think were about £14-15 for a child of any age to pay into the game on the day. This was the cheapest walk up prices by the way. The same season County offered £3 for a child. And looking at their website now they still offer £3 child tickets for behind the goal. It is still only £4 for an Under 16 for the Stand and £8 for under 18. We charged an under 16 almost 4 times the price for a seat (behind the goal as opposed to the side of the pitch) to watch the same teams and 17 year olds almost double. It's a complete joke 1 game in the first division for ICT would get you 5 for County in the first division. My point was we used to give very decent priced tickets and i always thought we did especially in the Cup but since we have become an SPL team the demand for more money has increased to a silly amount, it's not just us but football in general. It doesn't matter who we are playing. We're here to see Inverness not Celtic. Why should our prices be increased because we are playing them? No kid should be expected to be paying £15 a ticket when travel and food also has to be paid for. They are in full time education from 9 till 3-4 every day except weekends. If they are to have a saturday off to watch the football they shouldn't be over working themselves to afford coming to see a football match on what would surely be their only day off.
  16. I just wish there was a couple games before the cup game to give Terry a chance to see how his new signings are doing, throwing them straight in against Celtic could be a risk. With all these attacking options available picking the best 11 for Saturday is going to be tough.
  17. Aberdeen should be looking comfortable after those signings i reckon. Hibs have signed a fair few too but we shall see how they get on. I'm still confident Dunfermline will go down even with those signings but it will make for an interesting end to the season.

  19. When can a kid under 16 afford to pay £15 to watch a football match. They aren't allowed to work so do they just save their lunch money over a few days to pay for it then.
  20. Gavin Rae joining Aberdeen.... and Jamie Ness NOT joining Ross County.
  21. beaten to it by 29 mins! Another interesting rumour is Jamie Ness off to Ross County on loan and well as the signing of freddie dindeleux
  22. I agree that Rooney made the correct decision on going to Birmingham and although he isn't a regular starter he has done well since moving. Who thought he was going to break into the first 11 straight away anyway?
  23. Johnny's gone in the summer and there isn't any point trying to sit around and hope he signs like what happened with Rooney. We should of course offer him the best we can but we should now be out looking for new wingers for signing in the summer when we need to replace him.
  24. The best foreigners that i've enjoyed to watch has been Juanjo and Xausa, both have proved themselves at SPL level in the past. However i don't think we've ever had that many that were excellent But for what Hastings means to this club i pick him. As for the worst, we've had a lot of stinkers, you could say someone like Zibi, Blumenshtein or Gathuessi because they really didn't contribute anything to Inverness but Djebi Zadi is my favourite for worst player as he was the most disruptive for the team over a couple years and not just a few games like the rest. I thought i'd also mention that i think Johnny Hayes is our best official foreigner but Ireland has been omitted from this discussion.
  25. I don't understand why women tennis players get paid the same when they play best of 3 sets and the men play best of 5 sets. The mens final probably lasted twice as long as the womens this year so why would they get paid the same. It shouldn't matter on the quality of tennis though, the womens standard of tennis is poorer but if they were to play the full 5 sets i wouldn't have a problem.
