  1. I wouldn't be surprised if county were signing bigger names than us in the summer, for whatever reason players have always chosen county over us when we are both in the same league.
  2. hahahaha no kidding! Infact we almost deserve to go down on this seasons performances.
  3. That 4-3 livi game is still one of my all time favourites and even though it was such a huge game for the 2nd division title we were still promoted and that was good enough for me so that game goes down as one of the best moments. The "WE WANT FIVE" chant is one i've always wanted to sing again at a game in the future. My favourite moment as an ICT fan though was the build up to winning the first division both times, Beating Clyde away was one of the best feelings ever, and then actually winning the league on the last day of the season in such a nervy game against the saints was incredible and more recently i remember playing partick and i think we won to take top spot in the league after being so far behind. Nothing beats the build up to winning the title, The only thing i crave now as a ICT fan is another crack at Hampden and a chance to play some dodgy team from estonia in the european qualifiers who will most likely destroy us but it won't even matter because we've made it into Europe! The worst moments for me haven't been the Semi final exits to Dundee and Dunfermline although they did hurt it was great to get to Hampden in the first place and we were the major underdogs both times. I would say the quarter final exits over the years have been far worse, Thinking that your one game away from going back to Hampden and then getting it snatched from you really is horrible. Games that spring to mind is the Partick 1-0 replay in the pissing rain after the amazing 2-2 game in Maryhill, Going to extra time with livingston and them sneaking it in the last minute before penalties and Ross Tokely being sent off against Ayr and eventually throwing it away 5-1.
  4. Difference between GMS and OTJ is that the GMS signing has clearly produced the better goods for Dundee Utd. OTJ came here with a record of International football and playing for some pretty decent clubs so when he came here i was really excited, i didn't care about his previous injuries either and it was rather unfortunate it continued into his career at ICT. I'd keep him here for another season though as i still think hes one of the better players worth having around.
  5. is GMS Gary Mackay Steven or Grant Munro's of this world?
  6. Terry Butcher was disappointed his Inverness side was held to a 1-1 draw against 10-man Hamilton but feels they will avoid relegation. 10:50, May 11, 2009 Terry Butcher feels Inverness are inching closer to safety and was upbeat despite losing a late equaliser at Motherwell last night. 14:41, May 14, 2009 Terry Butcher admits he's still coming to terms with Inverness' relegation but is already planning for an instant return to the SPL. 14:27, June 1, 2009
  7. Its most likely we will finish with the worst points tally ever. Thats because this seasons squad is the worst it has ever been, If i had a choice between this squad and the relegated squad i would take the relegated squad in a heart beat. We were losing 1-0 and i didn't care, we brought it back and went on top 2-1 and i was pleasantly surprised but knew we wouldn't hold on. I was laughing when Hayes was sent off, its typical that this sort of thing happens, if it isn't own goals or missing absolute sitters its a red card that costs us the game. I don't really care about how well we played and all of those excuses (if we even did play well), in football it has nothing to do with the taking part. We need results and the form we are in just isn't good enough. I want this season to ENNNNNNNDDD! Give me that hopeful feeling of pre season back and the excitement to see our new signings perform at Grant street and other small stadiums, thats the only time i've enjoyed this season anyway.
  8. not if we continue playing 11 foreigners...
  9. My problem with butcher is that yes he was 4th around Christmas, so why did he then get rid of the players that got him there and replace them with mediocre loanees.
  10. Scottish athletes have always represented Great Britain at the Olympics so why should footballers be any different. Football isn't even a new Olympic sport, it's been going for years and promotes some of the best youth players around the world. The tournament might not be as popular as the world cup but it's still entertaining to watch. There probably wouldn't have been a British team if it wasn't held in London but I think it makes for a far more interesting tournament with them in it.
  11. I agree, youth was always given a chance in the reserves so no one can say they were filled with pensioners collecting their packets. Would there be no way of us playing highland league teams again like we used to in the first division.
  12. Its about time Elgin and Peterhead got their act together and at least got to the first division. Well done on Ross county making it after 18 years, can't wait for the derbies. This comment makes me think of a trick question in a pub quiz...
  13. I prefered seeing the reserve matches at the Caledonian stadium. It gave you a chance to see a few of the fringe players and see how they can perform. If the under 20 league had a rule where you were allowed to field upto 3 or 4 over 20s I think this would be better. Giving the youngsters much needed experience and giving the older fringe players some game time too.
  14. Interesting piece of trivia that. So of those who has won the most trophies in their time as manager of their current clubs? Neil Lennon has 2 cups Which two? From what I can see: Neil Lennon ------- Scottish Cup Peter Houston --- Scottish Cup Terry Butcher ---- 1st Division Trophy My mistake, thought Celtic won the league cup last year. He's going to have a league next week though.
  15. Interesting piece of trivia that. So of those who has won the most trophies in their time as manager of their current clubs? Neil Lennon has 2 cups
  16. Yeah with the option of a 2nd year I think, he will take that I presume.
  17. Players who's contracts expire..... Tuffey, Esson, gillet, tokely, proctor, tansey, Hayes, McKay, winnall, golobart, gnakpa, Williams, Anyone missing from the squad?
  18. Hogg, A Shinnie, Tudor Jones, Tade, Doran. Foran, Ross, G Shinnie, Sutherland, Morrison, Who else is defo here next season? So far I'm happy with every player mentioned. I think Thomas Piermayr and Meekings are here too but I'm undecided on those, good options for the squad but not starting 11 next year please.
  19. he said he would make big changes for this game bringing in players that hadn't got their chances in recent weeks. It didn't look like that to me. He brought in players that had been out injured thats all. Nothing significant at all.
  20. I wouldnt even give players like Winnall a chance unless Butcher knows they will be here next season much like Doran. Play players who will be here next year and build the team around that.
  21. I kind of agree with you, but wonder if your opinions come from viewing the games in person or jumping on other people's bandwagons? You always seem to say you cant make it to games but also say its the worst football you have witnessed. As a matter of interest, how many times do you witness it in person at the stadium in an average season? I think SMEE always watches the games on tv so if there has been about 10 games this season then IMO thats enough to judge on how the team is performing over a season.
  22. I'm not saying Jefferies is who i want to replace Butcher but if he came to be new manager he is more than adequate to do the job. Whats wrong with Jefferies? I think he established himself well as Hearts manager both times and when at Kilmarnock finished in the top six 3 or 4 times. Has Butcher got a better record than that? Geez i don't think so
  23. Your missing out last season when we done exceptionally well i thought. So good i thought Butcher ruined it by ditching half the squad that almost got us top 6. This is where my problem starts with Butcher, up until this point i thought he had done a great job.
  24. I'd have taken Jim Jefferies to be honest. Not calling for Butchers head though. I'll give him another season to turn it around as he deserves, hes probably kept us safe this season so lets focus on next year.
  25. Out of interest...would you care to share the names of the ones you think are decent? Im curious to know how many of this current squad people actually think are up to the job For next season i would have Doran, Esson, Foran, Gillet, Andrew Shinnie, Graeme Shinnie, Hayes, Tade, Ross, Tudor Jones, Tokely. If anyone else leaves i wouldn't be upset. Those players could make a team of... Esson (Missing) Tokely Hogg Gillet or G Shinnie Foran Tudor Jones Hayes A Shinnie Doran or Tade (Missing) That with replacing the missing links and a new Centre back would work well.
