    CJT Bus Poll

No really anything strange to be honest regarding pricing just trying to get the buses running at something remotely resembling 'breaking even'. Costs have increased over the past several years but the price charged has never really gone up (maybe by a pound). The new price was to make it a bit cheaper (or at least no more expensive) for families/kids. Any time I've priced up getting a bus to the town/city of the team we're playing against the CJT bus, the CJT one has been cheaper and obviously that doesn't include additional costs of getting further (bus/taxi etc) transport to the particular stadium itself. CJT do realise that people work hard to their cash and that football can be an expensive pass time, keeping it as cheap as is realistically possible is a priority. Hope that sheds some light on it if it helps.

    Positives

I quite like the new programme look.
  13. Things might be a bit more sustainable if we got more than 3000 odd coming along after an incredible season. I trust the board know best to do what's right as they know the big picture. I doubt they're out blowing the cash on strippers and Dom Perignon
  14. It's been policy in Highland and I think some other places for some time. I presume it was deemed a successful model and it was decided to make it Scotland wide. It's primarily there to provide a framework, particularly for young people and families who require extra support for whatever reason. In certain cases for example a young person may be engaged with a range of agencies - vol orgs like Calman, Bernardos etc, Police, social work, their school and so on. The named person would take a holistic view of this and work/liase with the family as little or as much as in needed under the circumstances. In certain circumstances such as some children in social work care this may be the social worker. In certain cases the NP may not be best placed to do this and a Lead Professional will take on this role. In most cases the NP will do virtually nothing as the child is OK and things are going fine it's only in cases where issues are identified by family, the child, other professionals etc that the named person would really come into play. Cost wise I really don't see that as being a huge issue for some it's virtually no change in their job for other such as myself there will be some change but the number of young people involved will be very small and there's no extra money for me just a shift in the way that I will work. Ultimately for Highland there be very little change in the way it operates as we already have it though the role I fill will be different as it's been identified as a gap. It's there to help achieve positive outcomes for young people and their families dependant on their needs and goals. As far as I'm aware there are no special powers or control given just support if needed.
  15. Obviously some will have an opinion on this which will follow their obvious political viewpoints. Myself? I'll likely be the named person in my capacity in the near future for young people between 16-18 who've left school. Do people realise that the Highlands have had named persons for years? Namely (no pun) through GIRFIC have a look at the second page http://www.highlandchildrensforum.org/userfiles/file/parent info sheets 4.pdf By the sounds of it people don't realise so I guess it's not particularly invasive into people's lives. Note: "The Named Person will change as the child grows passing from the midwife, to the health visitor, to the primary head teacher, to the secondary pastoral or guidance head." Has anyone had their child's Primary head teacher interfering and prying into their life or the Secondary depute head coming round and checking their child is brushing their teeth twice a day? Not that I've heard. The vast majority of families or children will notice no difference whatsoever. I'm not a fan of needless state intervention either but in this case it's blown way out of proportion. The Council could help matters by better communicating what is going on though.
  16. I think the group are just waiting on some 'unique' T-Shirts to be made.
  17. Applys to everyone, it's just that existing ST holders have their seats held back from sale during this time.

    Fans

You raise two very important issues here Deano. In the case of Rangers and Celtic fans, Inverness is no different from other communities outwith Glasgow where they also proliferate. In Inverness, I believe there are two main reasons for this. Firstly, and this is a factor which applies across Scotland, Glasgow's toxic religious and political mix has, over many years, created two opposing sectors in society down there and these two football clubs have become conspicuous features of that divide. This has given these clubs sufficient critical mass for them to act as footballing black holes which drag in additional support from areas a long way away from Glasgow. The whole of Scottish football suffers from this. The second issue in Inverness is that until just a decade or so ago, the place didn't possess a major force in football. As a result, a lot of people could have their "big" team - usually the OF but possibly Aberdeen etc as well - and also their "wee" team, in other words lower league ICT or before that Jags or Caley. These could comfortably coexist. However now that ICT is also a "big" team some fans have had to make a choice and some of these have remained with their OF preferences. Hundreds of Invernessians regularly disappear down the road to Celtic Park and Ibrox, but I do believe that, as time has passed and ICT have become more successful, this unfortunate trend has already begun to dwindle. Evidence is largely anecdotal, but I think OF support in Inverness (especially Rangers for obvious reasons) is on the wane. Regarding the second issue of lower home gates now than several years ago, this is largely part of something that is happening across Scottish football, it's not just ICT. Football attendances do go in cycles and there are probably several reasons for the current downturn. I would include silly kick off times, unavoidably high prices, lack of personal funds after the recession began and competition from a range of non-football activities. So although ICT's success has provided motivation for more to attend, it has been difficult even to stand still against these other negative factors. TL;DR version: FTOF.
  19. I think coming 3rd netted us about 1.5Mil
  20. He must do, I'm blocked and I've never tweeted him in my puff :D #seething
  21. I was in the South stand and I think I was as nervous about how it would turn out as I was about the game! A huge thank you Upland Development Ltd for funding the endeavour, to Liz MacRae and her helpers who put the stickers on the card and got them down to Glasgow (no mean feat in itself), to the club for lending us the minibus, to CJT for help coordinating it, to Jen and Joanna for driving the minibus, to everyone from Inverness and the Central Belt who gave up hours of their time to help set it out on Friday and finally to everyone in the North and East stands for taking part and making it a great success. Tansey was saying last night that the boys thought it was great and I've seen nothing but positive comments about it, so mission accomplished!! What a weekend.
  22. Don't normally get nervous but I'm starting to sh!te it.
