  1. Seems fairly clear what the fans want - although I had to laugh at the "Rangers" response to "I would continue to attend SPL fixtures as normal". Er, no you won't. Also, why did we have the lowest number of respondents? Makes us look rather uninterested OR are we simply under-represented? Where and how was this survey collected anyway?
  2. I think the point he's making is it's further doing it South-North than the other way round, isn't it   Aye, 'cos it's all uphill going North! :devious:
  3. Cheers Alex, didn't know about the follow-up to the story despite being a resident in the area! Don't read the Aberdeen rags, only the (very) local one, unless there is a story being drawn to my attention.
  4. Aw, the wee diddums. Maybe, if they thought about it a bit better, they could just stay in the Jewel of the North during the interim between the games and enjoy a taste of true Highland hospitality? I mean no wonder he is depressed - realising that they have to return to Kilmarnock afterwards . . .
  5. Confused - BBC reported on 30th May that he will be signing with Aberdeen on return from his holiday. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/18262722 Granted, there is no announcement on the AFC website yet, but I thought that should really put an end to speculation? Or is this like the England housing market when you can tell all your friends one day that you have bought a house and then be told by the agents the next day that it has actually be sold to someone else . . . ?
  6. No clash with Celtic home fixtures, unsurprisingly. But Club 12 does clash with Dundee Utd's home games, which coulod turn out to be a problem. Eh? Both Celtic and Club 12 have home fixtures on the 2nd week, Saturday 11th August.
  7. From a report on the radio last night, the sequence of events listed above is missing an important step - to be registered with the SFA the proposed club needs to have a firm offer of being included in a competitive league. Therefore they need to have the SPL vote sooner rather than later, as this underpins everything else. If the result was a resounding NO! then they would have to apply to the SFL and this adds yet more delay, before they can even consider any other aspect. As I understand it they have missed the deadlines for applications for the coming season to the SFL so why are we even still discussing it? As CaleyD notes above, time is not necessarily on their side and it supports the comment from Green that they may not be in competitive football for the next season which will give them the time required to sort it out. The main problem in all this is the negative impact on all the other clubs due to the uncertainty of it all. Supporters are holding off on buying season tickets, no one truly knows who the 12th team in the league will be and hence the league fixtures are in limbo until this is confirmed. They (Rangers NewCo) should do the decent thing and just declare the next season as fallow, thereby removing all this uncertainty and allowing the rest of us to get cracking on our preparations for the year ahead. Of course decency is not one of their strong points. Upshot is, as excruciatingly protracted this all seems to be, certain deadlines will force the issue and we are rapidly approaching that s**t-or-get-off-the-pot moment. And that cannot come too soon.
  8. This from the paper colloquially known as the Daily Ranger. No vested interest there then.
  9. Not true. Any loss of revenue can be a prelude to a much larger loss, if it is based on something like principles, fairness and moral turpitude. The Club needs to take that into very careful consideration before they cast their vote. We are NOT the same as every other club. We are a HIGHLAND club where things like that still matter. What price success if you have to sell your soul to achieve it? Voting a Rangers NewCo in to the SPL will be like making a Faustian pact, and many fans will see it that way. Excellent post BTW, heartfelt.
  10. Agreed - I have sent them an email on how strongly I feel about this topic. No European football for 3 years as a result of being a NewCo? Good. Gives them time to work through the leagues and prove that they have to fan base, the financial strength and the tactical nuance to return to the top flight. Without cheating this time.
  11. Answered NO but fervently hope I am wrong.
  12. The Union flag is as much Scottish as it is English. And Northern Irish. Only the Welsh could really say it wasn't that representative as it has none of the attributes of their home nation flag.
  13. AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Do they have to be consecutive? Or can they do it over an extended period . . . like C*unty?
  15. No, but I have a seen a few turkeys . . .
  16. Neil Lennon's passport photo
  17. Laurence, for a lot of what you say I agree with you, but some things (like Scots in England living in a foreign land but unable to vote) are only half true. Some of your points smell like Tory alarmist propaganda, which is almost as bad as SNP smells-like-roses propaganda. The biggest problem in the whole debate is . . . for most things we simply don't know what will happen if there were to be a split. But like many divorces, it has the potential of being horribly horribly messy and with both parties being left unnecessarily hurt due to petty internecine squabbling. And for that reason alone I will vote no.
