  1. Very true. So why did they go to Hibs?

If I wanted last night's safest bet, I should obviously have gone for Germany to beat England........
  3. Wasnae him, it was Ross Philp.

Well that plan worked. 0-0 FT Should have known the underdog would do well. I seem to remember the Faroes came onto the scene and beat Austria in their first senior game. Still, at least I backed Scotland at 6/1 when they were getting an absolute doing in Norway, just 2 minutes before Brown scored.

Ouch, bottom beats top. Was Shearer there, or busy with the 1st team?
  6. Already sneaked away for a look round their servers.
  7. The banter on this topic has been tremendous, but should it now be "retired"? It would be kind of appropriate that, just like Butcher's reign, it ends in farce.
  8. Does that include you? Yes.
  9. There's a twist - whoever makes the 1,000th post on this thread gets banned from the site.

I have a £50 free bet to use up, and was looking for a "safe" way to convert it into cash. That's when I noticed that Gibraltar make their international debut tonight, v Slovakia. They will be taking part in Euro 2016 qualifying next year, but it has apparently been agreed that UEFA will keep them apart from Spain when the draw is made. Obviously saving them for the final. Home games to be played in Portugal.....assuming the team bus ever actually makes it past the first border it encounters.
  11. Tapia's agent puts forward the case for Tapia in the Record. He'd use his contacts in Spain to bring in players, and assistant manager would likely be Guillem Balague, a journalist who's never kicked a ball in his life. Well that's me persuaded then.......
  12. I've always believed that there are certain players who get these late call-ups simply because they live near Glasgow airport.
  13. Are we going to find out who was/is behind that Twitter account? Step forward and take a bow.
  14. A resilient Terry Butcher responded defiently to the news that his plan to turn Hibs around was already in disarray. "At times like this, you've just got to grab the bull by the horns" he added.
  15. This one certainly was.
  16. Will be interesting to see if, for the first time in his career, Butcher can be a successful manager without Richie Foran.
  17. "He signs when he wants, he signs when he wants......."
  18. An unexpected surprise, great news. Oh, and and GIRFUY Butcher.
  19. You've answered your own question. In a market like this one where very little money is likely to be staked, any reasonable sized bet is likely to result in odds shortening very quickly. One reason for this is that the bookies have to assume (quite rightly, a lot of the time) that the person placing the bet has some insider info. There will be a number of people at the club, and a number of people associated with each of the serious contenders, who are in a position allow their friends and family to make a profit using their insider info, which is why most bookies aren't touching this.
  20. Latest names to appear in the bookies odds are Antonio Tapa and Alan Archibald. Interesting names, for very different reasons, but I wouldn't expect it to be either of them.
  21. Linking himself with the job, I suspect.
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Eagles Wouldn't mind him at all.
  23. Is Levein still getting his SFA salary or did that come to an end?
  24. Oops.
  25. It is an indication of how far ICT have come that we have 4 of the last 5 Scotland managers deemed by bookies and media to be in contention, to varying degrees. Levein, Burley, McLeish and Broon. Just need Berti for the full set of all Scotland's managers since ICT was formed! Mind you, it also perhaps says a bit about the national team.
