Pre-Season Friendlies / Early Season Games
Royal Antwerp are the team that have a tie-up with Man U, and get a lot of their youngsters on loan. They've had the likes of O'Shea and Chadwick in recent years. And like most Belgian teams, they are likely to have quite a few players from Africa and maybe even South America, because Belgium gives out work permits a lot more readily than other EU countries.

Will this be the first time we've had royalty at TCS since Wyness left?

Other Transfers in Scotland
I think he was told he was free to find a new club, but wasn't paid off, so he is still under contract with Dundee.

Other Transfers in Scotland
Richie Hart loaned from Dundee to Sweden's Osterunds FK for 6 months.

Opening games of the season
I would expect it to be Hamilton - Celtic, with perhaps Hearts Aberdeen as a Monday night match.

ICT fan dies on Everest
If I had to die, I suppose there are worse ways to go than at the top of the world doing something I love, not long after I'd seen ICT scale their own Everest. RIP

Calderwood leaves Killie
Killie are looking for a new management team after Calderwood decided he couldn't work with the playing budget on offer and the Chairman's insistence that Sandy Clark had to go as part of cost cutting measures. Things are looking pretty bleak at Rugby Park. :003: :003:

Dundee United chairman slagging us off
If Utd really don't want to play us or Hamilton, and they want their derbies back, they should have appointed Brewster again rather than Houston.

Feb 8th 2000 Man of the Match poll
I checked this out, it was just 3 on the bench in those days. Celtic had a sub keeper that night (Stewart Kerr) but we didn't.

Irn-Bru Awards
Cup final ???? Exactly. They proved themselves to be sh1te. In the last 5 years 3 First division teams reached the cup final so its hardly a novelty or an incredible achievement. And the previous teams at least put up a fight and a good performance. As for beating Celtic, they were put out of the Scottish cup by (mostly weaker) first division teams 4 times in the last 10 years so again, it's hardly a novelty or an incredible achievement. But I don't grudge them the "special achievement" award for the cup run. The team that came from nowhere to romp the league by 12 points, scoring more goals than anyone, going 21 games unbeaten and doing the clean sweep of beating all the other teams in their last 9 games, was the real team of the year. We all know that.

Irn-Bru Awards
Well done to both. I can understand and agree with County getting a special achievement award, but Team of the Year as well? Nonsense. They are the 5th best team in the SFL.

Pre-Season Friendlies / Early Season Games
There was a typo, we are actually sending our Under 9's to face Strathspey.

Pre-Season Friendlies / Early Season Games
I'm guessing it won't be Dinamo Bucharest. As for the holiday to Blackpool, I don't think we'd be attractive opposition for the local team now they are Premiership, but there are plenty of other teams in the North-West. Preston, Morecambe, Chorley, maybe even Burnley again?

Jonny Tuffey
I've also read it 6 times, and my interpretation is that no compensation is actually payable, but Partick will get their lawyers ("who believe they have a very good case") to take it to court, and then when they lose that, take it to a further appeal, leaving us in limbo over the summer.

Feb 8th 2000 Man of the Match poll
If I can be a bit picky, IMO every one of the 11 who started were exceptional that night. But I recall that Bavidge was terrible, and I'm not sure if other 2 subs even kicked the ball.

Feb 8th 2000 Man of the Match poll
I'm not sure but this might have been in the days of just 3 players on the bench in the cup, when teams often took a chance by not having a sub keeper. We had Superman though to step in if needed. The subs we used that night to waste time were Bavidge, Byers and Glancy.

League Cup Draw made tomorrow
Nice easy draw, putting aside the wee hiccup under wee Robbo in the equivalent tie back in 2002-ish.
