  1. People might have success with 4-2-4 in Football Manager etc, but how many teams actually use it? There are good reasons why they don't.
  2. Long walk to the game....

At the risk of going off-topic slightly, it struck me a while back that all the footballers I can think of who have been referred to as a "bombscare" have been black defenders. eg Tebily, Balde, Bamba, Lionel. Is that part of the definition or is it just coincidence?
  4. Duncan was obviously trying to get the numbers evened out. But yes it was blatant cheating, worse than Lennon. But like diving for a penalty, we tend to find it justifiable when its our own player.

Having now seen the penalty incident on TV, I'm not critical of Lionel, he was naive but a bit unlucky.

    Apart from today, I presume?
  7. Ah well. It's the league that matters, of course. Just had a horrible thought. Falkirk put us out of the CIS cup. Falkirk put us out of the Scottish cup. Falkirk to relegate us? Not feeling very optimistic at the moment.
  8. I think a few Tulloch homes have been made available over the years.

On again at 5.45 this evening. The Huns must be loving it. Might just tune in for the last 5 minutes.

Possibly, but it may be the case that the manager is looking for players with a bit more physical presence for the fight. Vigurs' neat football may have to wait til next season.

I'm sure a lot of fans would agree, but the team's performances and results have improved a lot since we dropped him.
  12. Is there room for one more in this relationship?
  13. Pushing it a bit to call Mantis a youngster.
  14. When the penalty is awarded, you see the Rangers fans behind the goal going mad. Is this because: 1) They are angry with Weir for his poor defending 2) They don't think it was a penalty 3) They know full well it was a penalty but are furious with the ref for forgetting "the Ibrox code"

Turned to this channel this morning and couldn't believe my luck: full re-run of Rangers v ICT. Turned out to be the 5-0 game! According to the schedules though, they are showing last night's game in full at 5.45pm. Unless there's a sudden change of plan :thumb04: The beers are in the fridge anyway.
  16. As the commentator says, "Ian Black, cool as a cucumber" :thumb04: Highlights make it look like we scored with our only touch of the ball.......which just makes victory even sweeter.
  17. On BBC website now, had to look way down the page though.
  18. Fantastic. The bad times are well and truly over.
  19. Found the answer. Hard man
  20. Who'd have thought we'd lose ground today? This was a Brewsteresque result in the kind of game we can't afford to lose if we are going to stay up. Do I hear the sound of Butcher's bubble bursting?
  21. Doesn't ICT's history show that success is in direct proportion with the amount the manager drinks?
  22. Is it my imagination or are pitches generally a much higher standard than they were say 20 years ago? I seem to recall that it was fairly common for the goalmouths in particular to be a total mudbath.
  23. None o yer ?2.99 pish though KB! What do you reckon he likes? My money's on Barolo.
  24. I actually think we ought to consider charging something like that for every reserve game. There are costs involved in putting the game on, and the spectators are getting "entertained" for 90 mins by professional sportsmen. Why should it be free? A fifth of the cost of a first team game doesn't seem unreasonable. And cheaper than a lower league/Highland league game, but (hopefully) a higher standard of play.
