    Imrie gone

Best memory of him is that long range freekick at Tynecastle, one of the most spectacular goals ICT have ever scored.
  2. There are people who believe that all our former players would love to move back. Anyway, St Mirren fans thought they were signing Ronaldinho in the late 1990s.
  3. Or as one confused radio reporter said at the time, back to Tonga.
  4. That's just what I was thinking.
  5. Celtic are following the script here. Republic of Ireland captain R Keane signs for Celtic, after years of being linked with a move to the team he has supported all his life. Massive salary. The fans hail the saviour, and expectations are high. Makes his debut in a game that should be a comfortable win. and they suffer an embarrasing defeat. Keane turns out to be a bit of an expensive dud and people wonder what all the fuss was about. He then leaves the club, and Celtic search for their next saviour. At least it wasn't Clyde this time.

I think he was a real asset to the team, even though he blows hot and cold. Who doesn't? On a good day his determination and energy are better than anyone else can offer. However, it was probably the right thing for us to to cash in.
  7. No, the club lost its ability to do that when it sold the stadium to [insert name of whoever actually owns it now] many years ago. You can only sell the family silver once, it's your get out of jail card and we've played ours. On the face of it there was nothing at all wrong in principle with doing a "sale and leaseback" of the stadium. Would you rather have (say) ?2m in cash or have a ?2m stadium? The answer to that gets a lot easier if you add in that the bank requires you to repay ?2m of debt or you go out of business.
  8. You never said you had already had a warning over the issue. Read post #98.
  9. Transfer news now there. it's obviously taken them 12 hours to write such a comprehensive explanation of the transfer activity. http://www.ictfc.co.uk/articles/20100202/t...2208825_1952805
  10. Its Derek Adams who is saying that we paid Barrowman off.
  11. I thought he'd be holding out for Rangers.
  12. The bulldozer drivers will have to have their opinions vetted before they can move in.
  13. As an aside, John Barnes was declared bankrupt 3 months ago. I think it was more of a non-payment of tax thing rather than him not having any money. But if he ever has to resort to begging on the streets, he'd do pretty well in Inverness. In fact, there's a slap up meal waiting for him at the Drumossie this Saturday.
  14. I think so, if you look through the thread back you'll see that D was given an ultimatum 3 weeks ago.
  15. Here's a thought - what happens if Rod Stewart says something critical of the board!
  16. These posters should really have "toff" rather than "tough"!
  17. There's an interview in the Sunday Times with the former Celtic keeper, who has now settled in New Zealand where he coaches. When asked what the worst moment of his career was, he picked ICT's Feb 8th 2000 victory. "It still haunts me to this day." :P You might think this was an obvious choice, but he rates it as being worse than a nightmare game for Halifax. "I wore a pink jersey and let in five goals, three from passbacks". He also confirms his role in the Celtic dressing room bust up. "I then stepped in and told the manager he should be directing his anger at Eyal Berkovic because I didn't think he was pulling his weight, and John (Barnes) and I had a bitter exchange. We needed leadership and John didn't provide it, he was in a situation he hadn't the experience to handle". But I guess he won't be flying back for the 10th anniversary event.
  18. Didn't realise he had a Shaun Goater tattoo as well, making a full set of the worlds best players. B)
  19. Looks like tomorrow's newspaper headline will be "Rogered!"
  20. I believe he was told "ToGo" but that's another thread altogether. Back on topic, Togo will surely win any appeal on this.
  21. Not good news for the Man City diehard who got "Robinho" tattoed across his chest, just next to the "Kaka" he confidently got done when they bid ?100m for him.
  22. Great result. Is it the first time we've beaten a top half team this season?
  23. I don't think we can afford an Italian striker.
  24. Well you got the first and last letters right! :(
