  1. Ever eager to prove that they listen to the views of fans, the Board have noted your comments and will be unveiling Jay Stein tomorrow.
  2. Today's starting line up had 8 Butcher signings. And perhaps if he'd brought in competition for Esson, Granty and Rossco, they wouldn't be starting either. It's normal for any manager to play his signings, he should have a vision for how he wants the team to play and recruits players in that mould. He will say he is rebuilding. But how long can he stick with it if the new recruits are struggling? He's leaving out players with not just SPL experience, but experience of winning this league. Fair enough if he thinks it's on merit and on form, but there have to be major questions as to whether that is indeed the case.
  3. I never cease to be amazed at how eager you are to publicise your ignorance!
  4. Relief at getting a point, but not really good enough. Season so far indicates that we are a mid-table side, and the Board haven't splashed the cash this year for that. Must improve Terry.
  5. Not good. :007:
  6. That's very unfair. I think you'll find they don't bother wiping at all. :)
  7. He's currently thinking "Eh? Ma oven disnae need fixed!"
  8. I usually know what you're talking about!
  9. Scuse me, I would have (just) been eligible to play! Whereas you'd have had to play for Saudi Arabia.
  10. It was the 1989 World U16 Championship which we lost to Saudi Arabia on penalties after a 2-2 draw. I wouldn't be surprised if Bahrain were at it too, getting to the semis and beating Brazil on the way.
  11. In my eyes, premeditated cheating involving lots of people tends to be the worst kind. I'm struggling to remember the details, but didn't Spain enter a basketball team into the Paralympics that included able bodied players?
  12. Sport has suffered a few high profile cases recently. It seems that Renault are no longer denying that they asked Nelson Piquet Jnr to crash and help his teammate to win the Singapore GP. And Harlequins got caught using fake blood to allow substitutions to be made. I was also reading recently, in light of the Caster Semenya gender uncertainty, about various men (100% men) who competed as women and won Olympic medals. (And in the 1960s, various East European women champions mysteriously stopped competing as soon as the first gender tests were introduced) So what are the best, or worst, incidents of cheating in sport?
  13. Pressley has left the Scotland set-up. Sounds like he had no say on the matter. BBC are reporting that "There is no suggestion that former England captain Terry Butcher's position is under threat. "
  14. Bankies are forever!

    Agreed.
  16. Yep, now been confirmed that he's staying on.
  17. It's right by the train line, but is it not a good 10 minute walk to the station?
  18. 73% of facts and statistics circulated through the internet are not actually true. This is an increase of 11% since last year.
  19. I think its quite likely that a different manager would have got us another couple of points and a play off. Saw a comparison of recent manager results in today's paper that concluded that Burley is statistically worse than Vogts. And I think we have better players available now than Vogts had at his disposal.
  20. Yet he still wasted his time bringing in trialist keepers?
  21. I think we'd be in the market for an "emergency loan".
  22. "Renegade" is a 1981 song by Thin Lizzy, which contains the lyrics "He's a clown that we put down"
  23. I was intrigued by this and had a look. Slight exaggeration as I only found 5 in the entire 3 league set-up, but still, WTF are they doing there? There are quite a few Hungarians and Serbs, but generally not many foreigners at all. Do they just happen to be there for work, and play a bit of pub footie in their spare time, or are they real footballers who have gone there purely to play in one of the weakest leagues in the developed world? There surely can't be any money in the game there, with a population of just 49,000. If anyone knows anything more I'd be curious to know.
  24. No disputing that their technical abilities will be good, but surely they'd never get a UK work permit unless they are established internationals?
  25. If we'd managed a goal against lowly Ayr we'd be top. If if if.
