The Silence is Deafening
You can't just dismiss our wins against Gretna. We may have thrashed them regularly but plenty of other teams didn't. They were an SPL side who got 23 points off other SPL teams.

The Silence is Deafening
Yes he could have done better, and hopefully he'll learn that he can't switch off even for half a second. A few of the goals we have conceded this season have been gifts, but at least that one came from good attacking play: great cross whipped in, unstoppable header right into the corner.

Team for Celtic
Are people forgetting that there could well be a Black hole in our midfield?

Dundee Utd -V- ICT : matchday thread
To be fair, Dundee Utd were very good today. We weren't bad either, and had spells of playing some good stuff on the deck. Pretty good game of football. We didn't really dereve to go a goal down, but Daly was left unmarked for a simple header. Can't believe we are letting him score against us FFS. Mcbain had our best chance but dragged a shot wide when in space 10 yards out. Turning point was Black going off, cynically fouled as we set off on the break. Utd did that to us a few times actually. He had shown composed class in the middle, best player on the park in the first half. It was only a matter of time before Utd got the 2nd. We then improved and went 4-4-2, creating a few chances. In the space of 2 minutes the lively Barry Wilson cut inside and forced a great save, the Barrowman's effort came back off the post, and then Rooney(?) headed in but the flag was up. Would like to see that one again. Late on, the otherwise disappointing Cowie had a 20 yard drive tipped over, and then Wilson's corner was bundled in by Wilkie. I thought McBain and Imrie were poor today. Duff and Vigurs did fine once again. Black and Wilson showed their class. The worst thing about today was Blackie's injury. We are seriously going to miss him and will slide down the table very quickly if he is out long term.

Imrie has his cake and eats it too !
Who's going to tell the happy couple that they used the famous TCS invisible ink pen to sign the certificate?

Imrie has his cake and eats it too !
Feeding our players with cake cannot be a good idea!

motherwell game tonight
I think I heard BBC say that Scottish clubs have had 10 games in Europe this season: no wins, only 3 goals scored, and all our teams out (barring a Celtic miracle). So we suddenly we go from our best season in Europe for at least 20 years, to our worst ever.

Paterson Checks Into Rehab
...and ironically some hefty winnings at the bookies as I recall!

Paterson Checks Into Rehab
A very sad story, and I'm sure we all hope he gets himself sorted out.

Ian Black
He's on course to be our player of the season, even if he leaves in January.

Rumours - this site's stance
For what it's worth, a rumour was going round over a week ago that allegations would be appearing in last Sunday's NotW but nothing appeared. "Reliable sources" aren't all they are cracked up to be.

Rumours - this site's stance
Presume you mean this one? Good post, but it got caught up in a thread which had to get removed.

All very noble, but there's also the issue of defamation and a person's right to some privacy to consider.

Anyone who gets a post removed on this subject, please refer to my initial post. Sorry but I'm too busy this evening to send each person a PM explaining why.

Rumours - this site's stance
From time to time, rumours circulate about the private lives of people at the club. They always come from "a very reliable source" and often turn out to be untrue. The people in charge of Caleythistleonline have decided that this website should not be used as a forum to publicise such rumours. This is because such stories constitute an unnecessary invasion of the privacy of club employees, and more to the point are often without foundation. Threads started on such subjects therefore risk becoming defamatory, which has obvious legal implications. We would therefore ask people to refrain from posting comments that refer to rumours of a personal nature. If you wish to find another website with a less cautious approach to discussion of unsubstantiated personal and potentially defamatory matters, feel free to do so.

ICT's Forgotten Heroes
I recall that Fox and Byers seemed to get loads of games when they were this us. Fox in particular got more than he deserved. Byers had a bit of skill but was literally a lightweight. Bajram's brother?!

Mike Ashley
What strange goings on at Newcastle. Having brought keegan out of retiremnt, they now bring in Joe Kinear who hasn't managed for 4 years. And best of all, Ashley is in the process of selling the club to Nigerians. Presumably they made their approach with an email and are just waiting for him to provide his bank details.

Suggest a replacement
Based on the (lack of) responses so far, the apparent conclusion is that Brewster is the best man for the job.

Paul Bradshaw. Just thinking, perhaps "Forgotten Zeroes" would be a better thread title.

Team for tues cup game
Interesting to note the number of people advocating experimental line-ups. After the Arbroath game, the forum was full of fans howling that we should have played out strongest team, Brew was arrogant and understimated the opposition etc etc. My view is that if you can't try things out in a diddy cup against lower league opposition, then when can you? It's a great opportunity for fringe players and youngsters to get their chance and put pressure on underperforming first team regulars.
