  1. Anyone, I believe truthfully though any away game with a small terraced ground would be good, I love standing at games
  2. Lets not forget the time of year it is as well?!! January the 8th, just after Christmas and New Year, not a lot of people can afford to go to every game so have to choose their games they want to go to, not to mention a lot of our support at games are families and January is the tightest month of the year for money. Yes there may have been a shortage of season ticket holders but they have out their money into the club already, lets not out the boot in to them, these are the guys that should be applauded for buying a season ticket. Myself and CJ were not there either but then if you tot up petrol money, ticket costs, food money etc it's the best part of a hundred quid if not more that just after Christmas and New Year can be best used elsewhere. I would love to be at every game but it is just not possible, it's an unfortunate situation for a lot but games sometimes have to be prioritised for those that aren't season ticket holders.
  3. Increasing the midweek games wouldn't work, UEFA have reserved most midweeks for Champions League and Europa League matches and games aren't allowed to clash or be scheduled for those dates, most of the spare weeks are used up anyway for league games. More midweek games would be less of a benefit to a lot of fans who travel as they potentially wouldn't be able to make it due to work commitments etc. Dropping ticket prices is a must and surely has a bearing when people are thinking about whether to go or not, yes you will always get the fans who go no matter what but some prices are just stupid. I agree that the league shouldn't be dropped to lower than 12 teams, it's been tried before and was scrapped for the 12 that we are currently using, only the tinkering of the SPL in creating a split has caused a change since then, this is another thing that has to go. Whoever thought of this ridiculous rule needs shot, let us never see a split in a league again please!!! The only thing with increasing the league size is that there has to be a minimum number of teams in it, 16 or 18 I think would be needed, to guarantee our teams will be eligible to play in European competition (I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong) but UEFA rules stipulate a minimum number of games must be played over the season. The main problem comes from the fact that the SPL don't want to include any teams from the SFL in a proposed bigger top league, Doncaster himself said on the radio he didn't want to dilute the quality of the top division, totally unfounded and completely wrong in my opinion. The other problem is that all the SPL teams want 4 games against the Old Firm to guarantee a good revenue on those days so will be opposed to any increase that means each team only meet twice. I would structure a 16 or 18 team top flight, with the same as a Division 1, then I would regionalise the rest of the Scottish game. Have a 2 up 2 down system from top flight to Division 1 along with a play-off also which would give the 3rd placed team in Division 1 a chance of promotion. Open up Division 1 to relegation also so that regional teams have a chance of promotion which could be worked on a play-off system as well at regional level.
  4. They are all good shouts and for a pound would net you a small fortune I'll plump for the following: Blackburn v QPR - 14/5 Dundee v Motherwell - 9/5 Coventry v Crystal Palace - 3/1 West Ham v Barnsley - 4/1 A quid will net you ?212.80 at Willie Hills online!! I better put it on now
  5. A very Happy New Year to all from myself and Caleyjag, we hope 2011 is as good to all as 2010 was. 2010 will be a year I will remember greatly for obvious reasons which have all been mentioned above but for me the away days will live strong forever and be the mainstay of many stories for many years to come. I'm sure 2011 will bring some of it's own but not sure it can beat the likes of Ayr . My new year resolution is not to rise to the bait on here which I have been known to do once or twice and choose my words carefully at other times. I hope everyone has a very prosperous 2011 and that ICT can continue to build and grow from the position that is in now and become a formidable SPL force for many years to come.
  6. I can't believe the arrogance of this statement. Inverness, Hamilton, St. Johnstone and St. Mirren are all teams of equal size. Why can't any of these teams regularly take points off of each other? What makes a team who have only just been promoted remember, seem to think they have the divine right to turn up and claim points before a ball is kicked? Caley are on an enviable run of form just now. That can't be called into question but in reality are just a small team as are these other sides mentioned. Howden needs to drop the Old Firm attitude and live in the real world. Where I agree with a lot you have said there about the teams mentioned being of equal size and stature I don't necessarily think IHE was being arrogant if you look at it in a different context. If you look at our run of form and results this season he is right that we shouldn't be dropping points against St Mirren, Hamilton and St Johnstone, when I say points I mean not winning at home and anything less than a draw away. Against Motherwell I'm not sure as when Brown was in charge they were a very decent team. We can't go to Tynecastle, Celtic Park and Ibrox and take a point from all three then entertain St Mirren at home and play so badly and lose all three points, if you look at those 3 away results I mentioned we have every right to question why we are losing points against those so called 'lesser teams' (which by the way aren't lesser to ICT just lesser in the SPL) and expect to be able to at least challenge and take all three points. If ICT and we have any aspirations of a top six finish this season we need to be expecting to beat the likes of St Mirren, Hamilton and St Johnstone. There is nothing arrogant about that.
  7. Happy New Year to everyone, lets hope 2011 is as good or as close to it as 2010 was

  8. Great result and good point well earned, good to see us dominate the first half and unlucky to only go in 1-0 up at half time. Stunning goal by Hayes worthy of any goal of the month/season award but good enough for them as they stood off Hayes far too much and deserved it, McGregor's reaction told the same. If that had been Messi or Ronaldo people would have been raving about it for days. Second half a little less stable but agree 100% about Odhiambo, completely out of the game and unwilling to get involved and exposed Tokes and Granty too much as it allowed them to play through us, once he was hooked we looked more stable. Before the game me heart said 3 points but my head said 1 point so I put on ICT half time, draw full time @ 14/1
  9. Caley through and through!!!!

  10. Not sure how many times I need to post but don't need to try and prove to anyone that I support Inverness Caledonian Thistle, no I am not 'a hun' who sings the sash, billy boys or famine song nor will I be, obviously you didn't read my previous post!!! For those who know me and sat beside me at Ibrox they'll know I was in the away end and was dancing about the stand when we equalised, unfortunately I can't make the home game against Rangers but if I could I would be sitting in the North stand cheering on TB and the boys like every other game if not more. Does anyone else want to have a completely unprovoked pop at me and doubt my loyalties?
  11. Joe if that was the case then I apologise, I had a moment, I'm just stressed about the weather and trying to get back to Aberdeen from Glasgow today!
  12. I can fully empathise with you .Being thrown out by these bullies you missed the incident at the end of the game. The ball mysteriously landed in our supporters area and a young steward sportingly threw it to some of our fans who were having a bit of fun with no intention of wanting to keep their ball, who would want it, out of nowhere this huge steward arrived and as we were celebrating with Terry and Boys he pushed in behind me ,my friend and family almost pushed me over the back of seat in front and I will never know how I held my footing ,my friend twisted her back trying to save herself it was horrendous treatment.I spoke to him and and he was extremely rude I tried speak to another steward and got same treatment .The police were a bit more sympathetic but said they had nothing to do with stewarding.I did get told the offending steward was the head supervisor for the area we were in .The second one I spoke to was walking away and I tapped his arm to get his attention only to be told dont touch me or I will have you for assault, who the hell do they think they are that they can throw their weight around like that.It didnt end there as some man with a clip board appeared and took my name and said he would try to get it sorted out.Next we got escorted out by two very pleasant stewards who were more than understanding .I then decided it is an absolute waste of time and energy to complain as they all stick together. We had a brilliant result and obviously they had to vent their anger on someone .We are quite probably the easiest and best behaved fans these nasty people have to deal with. They just cant deal with the Highlanders and our sense of humour and the fact we know how to make our day out enjoyable.Dont allow these Bxxxxxxx to ruin a fantastic day in the hitory of CALEY THISTLE be proud and try to move on .I have. The only way to deal with these guys is to directly speak to the police, in this instance you would have been well within your right to report him to them and say you want to report an assault, the police then would have had to deal with it as they would with anyone one the street. Just because they wear a yellow or orange jacket doesn't mean they can push people about. There are cameras everywhere in the stadium and the incident would have been caught on CCTV. I love the atmosphere of sitting near the guys who sing their hearts out but can't be bothered with the hassle from the stewards so sit further away safe in the knowledge that I won't be bothered by them. It's a poor thing to have to do in this day in age to enjoy a game but the only reason they do it is because they are power freaks who think they can bully fans about especially when it's a small number of fans. The truth is the police can't stand them and from speaking to the police direct they say that their job is made much harder by them. Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done as no matter how many letters we write or phone calls we make it won't change.
  13. Thanks for the report. I don't get the reference to the "Big Jock New Camp." Could you please explain? Excuse my ignorance. Ignore him. He is prob one of those fans who sang sectarian songs at Caley park before and claimed it was getting behind the team. A couple of boys tried to start singing god save the queen but were told to shut the f**k up after 2 seconds so it stopped thankfully. Just to set the record straight I am not one of those fans who used to sing sectarian songs at Caley Park nor have I ever sang sectarian songs and never will. I don't like it or condone it in any shape or form and have been an adversary for it to stop. I challenge anyone who can say they have heard me sing anything like that and I certainly didn't do it yesterday!!!! I was trying to be funny, I don't like Celtic, out of all Scottish clubs they are the ones I hate the most and excuse me for trying to bring a bit of light hearted fun into my post. I've read far worse on here in previous threads and posts.
  14. Just getting the chance to post from being at the game and haven't read any one else's post so here goes: Before the game it was just hope, my heart said we could take something my head said not so much but deep down I hoped we would, I couldn't think of a worst place personally to lose the run at but never did I think we'd keep it going in the way we did, it was awesome. I hate them and to go to the 'Big Jock New Camp' and get the result we did had me smiling all the way down London Road, it was possibly the only thing that could keep me warm. Each to a man I thought everyone was immense and all stuck to the task, got stuck in and played the type of football that we should be proud of, for a while now I'd been shouting for Duncan and Cox to play in midfield together and I think I've been proved right as to why, we got the ball down from the start and passed it like a true footballing team only really lumping it long when we needed to. We mixed it about but clearly had the advantage on the left and Richie was brilliant at winning the ball from the air. Great credit for the comeback and to have kept going at them and not for the heads to drop is great credit to the management team for installing the belief in the players to just go out and play and keep playing their way. For so long we've not been given any praise for our performances, a bit like last season really when we crept up the first division without notice, but hopefully now we'll start to get the praise we deserve. For me this was right up there with Ayr, with a stepdad who supports Celtic and a brother who supports Rangers to take points from both games was immense but the way we did it today warranted a phone call home on the walk from the game which is usually a no no. Congratulations boys, you deserve all the credit you get and long may it continue.
  15. I'm proud to say that I have witnessed such an unbelievable achievement at first hand, not at every away game during the run but quite a lot, today was in the top two only shaded by Ayr but for obvious reasons. At 2v0 I was disappointed as I didn't feel we deserved it tbh and thought the run was gone but when the our equaliser went in I went mental, it felt better than a win and so sweet to get it right up them in the way we did. Congratulations to all involved at ICT, as Bridge_Ender said what a fantastic achievement and long may it continue 'Caley away with Terry and Mo'
  16. Getting ready fpor the game today, can't wait :)

  17. Where I agree that we need to rid the game of sectarianism is it not the case that we have to rid society of sectarianism. The only reason this whole thing is being attributed to 'our game' is because of who sent it. He made an error in judgement by sending the email on from his work email address, one that invariably he got found out but how many of us can say that they haven't received an email at work that takes the p#ss out of something else, no matter who they are or what organisation it is, and haven't forwarded it on themselves? I got this same content in an email at work, I saw it online, I heard about it from friends and I even saw it in a newspaper too but I wouldn't say this was attributed to 'our game nor was it condemned. Should we be letting one of the best ex Scottish referees resign from his post due to an error in judgement without putting up a fight, I don't think so. Obviously there will be others that will completely disagree with me but lets get it into context and this is a forum about opinions. Yes i'm sure Celtic had another massive part to play in this and voiced their feelings about it but lets remember it's the same ref that got hit by a coin at their very ground by one of the best fans in the world which could have either taken his eye out or killed him but he kept on officiating the game, I would say that was worthy more of an outcry than this. Who will the SFA bring in to head their refereeing development, my monies on George Peat's bringing in someone who has no clue about the game but can easily be controlled by the SFA nuggets.
  18. The snow in Glasgow is nothing, not even an inch but it is cold so if anything pavements and roads will be icy but that's all Caleyjag and I came down last night from Aberdeen and we had 10 inches of snow at our house so down here is nothing, no danger of the game being postponed due to the weather. I'm glad it's match day cause I'm sick of all this 'is it on' nope wait 'it's on' oh wait another phone call 'not on anymore' nonsense, I never got work done yesterday for all the txts and calls I got about it lol. I'm so looking forward to the game but in a way looking forward to when it's over so hopefully Scottish Football can get back on track and sort themselves out, it's hit rock bottom and couldn't possibly get any worse, the SFA for once need to stand up and be counted, get men in who have a footballing background, understand the game and the clubs and actually have a voice that will be heard, get the duffers out and stop all this jobs for the boys nonsense or should I be saying 'jobs for the bhoys' As Caleyjag said the other night 'it would never have happened in Jim Farry's day' and she's right, Scottish Football has been on a massive downfall for years and someone now needs to stand up and be counted and sort it out. Come on ICT lets show this lot how to play today and get the result everyone is craving for and not just ICT, the whole of Scottish Football, it would really get it up Celtic, Lennon and Reid if they got a bit of what they've been moaning about from a foreign ref, let us see them try and tackle UEFA if that happens!!!!
  19. Would go with that team also
  20. Hopefully the football over the weekend will do the talking and we aren't all left talking about the 'refs' again, I for one am glad the games are going ahead but am undecided whether it is a good thing that foreign refs are being used or not. It shouldn't make a difference as it should be the same across the board but we'll soon see. The SFA and SPL must have had contractual arrangements or something that made them source refs from elsewhere, I just can't believe they are happy to use them over their own for any other reason.
  21. He would be my first choice too, his distribution and composure is better than McCann who at times was very wasteful especially on the break. I think the rest of the back line look more comfortable with Duff at RB also.
  22. I've just watched the highlights online and we looked awesome on the break and in attack, Rooney's composure was excellent and the finishes were top class reflective of a guy at the top of his form and high on confidence. Hayes speed and passing was amazing and they way he reacted after his error was brilliant, just the sort you'd want of a player. Gutted I missed it
  23. The SFA have to take a long hard look at themselves amongst all this as well, they fanned the flames by not coming out and backing their ref's throughout the whole situation and the way that Steven Craven left was a joke, he was left to hang out and dry. All they had to do was release a statement saying that it was being dealt with in house and the ref's had their full backing. Nobody should have been coming out and speaking to the press the way they did. Everyone makes mistakes day in day out and like a lot have already said lets not forget these guys do it part time, love the game and officiate for this reason and more often than not because they can't play the game themselves either through injury or not being good enough. It's about time they were backed. Mistakes happen all the time in games, look at England, they made their ref's go professional and it still happens down there and will continue too. Without controversy what would we speak about in the pub? I know that if I went to work and made a mistake and my boss openly criticised me in front of others I would be affronted, shocked and angry. John Reid and Celtic have acted shamefully throughout and their actions both in the media and on the touchline are a disgrace to the point of being detrimental to the Scottish game. For Reid to demand the resignation of a man for one lie after all his lies over the years is completely hypocritical, hopefully he will take heed of his own fans reactions and either shut up or get out. Scottish football doesn't need a man like this involved nor do we need to listen to the p*sh that comes out of his mouth. This is not politics it's a game, a game that everyone loves and unites people of all cultures and classes, someone should remind him of this.
  24. I can't say I'm surprised by this tbh, the criticism this season has been awful and hasn't been helped by Hugh Dallas' comments that appear to be in the Sunday Mail today. Not sure if I'm happy about it or not though, we're on a great run of form and I genuinely believe that we have a great chance next Saturday of taking something from the game. It would be awesome to keep the record going but wouldn't we want to do it ourselves rather than having outside influences helping us?
  25. I'm sure he's now scored 13 this season all in but in the league I think it's 11, didn't he score 2 in the league cup?
