  1. Excellent start to the season, not a bad performance, seems team spirit still very high. Like the look of Vinny & Deano, defence looked solid and looks like we are carrying on from where we left off last season. Very optimistic
  2. 1. Raigmore 2. Inverness, mainly Dalneigh area 3. 1974 4. Moved back to Inverness in 2001,after serving in the Army
  3. Will they mind an old duffer turning up matey?
  4. Thought in the early stages, especially when we went in front that Celtic were there for the taking. With all their changes etc, if we had gone 2:0 up, they would have struggled to get back in, we seemed to lack the killer instict. Anyway lets keep positive for weds!
  5. Sounds good , available most sundays, old fart now so might struggle to keep up wie you young whipper snappers
  6. Very enjoyable game, credit to both teams for the football on display at this time of year. A Shinnie getting back to his best, created lots of opportunities, felt his brother was isolated a lot throughout the game and Midden took advantage down that wing. Raven had another good game and saved us at the back quite a few times. Young Cooper was a bit caught in the headlights and distribution poor at times. Roll on the 2nd feeling confident, might just have another mince pie, noom, noom
  7. Very good all round performance today, moved the ball well and if we lost possesion we fought to win it back. Great save by Antonio from Griffiths, and as already stated, quite a few nominations for MOM. Got ma tickets, roll on tuesday, long johns and thermal vest at the ready
  8. Got mine after the game today, seemed to be going well, bring it on, cold weather or not.
  9. Great result, just the pick me up we all neeeded after last sunday's wee blip, keep it going lads!
  10. Have to agree with all those praising Dave the Raven, I was vocal in his poor early displays, but vastly improving game by game, keeping it nice and simple and puts in a mean cross now and again. Pass me another slice o that humble pie, yum yum

    Billy McKay

Good on ya Billy well deserved, always puts a good shift in
  12. First class performance throughout the team last night, everyone played their part at some stage. Defence looking stronger as they gel, even Raven is improving. Plenty options in attack, so the prospects are looking good, could this be our season to break into the top six?????
  13. Great performance, couldnt really pick a weak link in the team. Goals well worked and finishing was first class especially Richie Foran. Glad to see Morrison getting a go, nowt fancy but does a good job in front of back 4. Thought there was numerous candidates for MOM, but suppose Richie for his 2 goals was worthy winner. Much more looking forward to Friday
  14. Good improvement overall thankfully, though we should have won it after Doran was clean through. Defence were no bad up until they switched off for equaliser. Raven had me doubting myself after his first pass went to one of his team mates, but then next two went straight out of play i realised he was bluffing and really is no up to the job. Like the look of Blackman think he could do well for us and G Shinnie played well in advanced role. Foran came alive second half, Shane done okay, but he needs to believe in himself more and put himself about more. A Shinnie very quiet, not involved at all. But this could be us ever so slightly be turning the corner, oh come on we have to be hopeful!!!
  15. Long old season, two hammerings in quick succession, releagtion fight, defence is a joke Rant rant rant
  16. I might be missing something but why not switch Mackay & Sutherland for the Arbroath game for a trial, it must be worth a go. Shane's confidence is rock bottom i feel, he will never be a winger, he is a through the middle type of player, if he's doing a good job on the wing in training, why cant he transfer it to real game scenario? I used to watch him, Nick Ross, Morrison etc in the 19's/ reserves and cant remember him being a dynamo winger then. Mackay great shift each game but coming in from the wing might suit him, we need to try something as its not pretty or effective up there at the moment.
  17. Poorest performance against Celtic in a long time, I know he's taking pelters but Raven is just not up to it. Meakings or hurry back Cooper. Okay I apprecaite it can be difficult to get a decent striker, we bought in all these lower league defenders, could we not have found some sort of semi decent striker. I feel sorry for Billy Mackay, he puts a hell of a shift in but with little or no return. I'm for giving Gavin Morrison a few starts as he puts himself about a bit, also give Pepper more of a runout on the wing, with Nick Ross looking to be out for a few games.. Cant get to down as many have said we dont expect much from a game against Celtic, but we made it so easy for them today. Stronger Celtic teams have been beaten by us or struggled to beat us (last minute winners etc)
  18. Two weeks on the trot, so called senior pros have let us down, so called captain should not act in this manner. But as many have said already, he seems to be a Butcher favourite and cant put a foot wrong. He needs to serve his ban and then not come back in straight away
  19. Foran will replace OTJ, Nick Ross has to start, he's been lively all pre-season and when he has came on in the league. Although not convinced by Raven, keep his place till Cooper is fit again, not a fan of Meekings either i'm afraid
  20. Game started well, like the look of centre backs, more games together will help in developing understanding. Nick Ross has to start as Shane is by no means a winger and any confidence he had has gone. Mackay needs help up front but showed a few good touches. Get Shane along side him or Oswell, or try Andy Shinnie alongside him instead of behind him. Its early days give the boys a chance to gel a bit more, I thought we missed Foran barking at a few of them yesterday. Not convinced with Raven at all, poor guy gets more head bandages than anything, might be his tribute to TB Hope weather is as good and crowd picks up next game
  21. Did you get your "coupon" at the same time? And did to have a very long wait while Diggar went out on to Grieg Street to shout good natured abuse at John Brooman or any other unsuspecting passer by before returning to complete your short back and sides? Good days, dodgy haircut, probably the short back & sides led me to joining the Army. Mixed fortunes witht the coupon, mainly losses As I recollect Diggar was actually an ex Army barber, I think originally at Fort George. He was certainly in the Burma Star Association. Maybe it was when he was over in that neck of the woods that he started the tradition of the North Korean "dodgy haircut" like the one the Little Fat Leader has. And IHE... given the rarity of the "Jeggie" publication, I suspect it may be worth rather more than 5p! Yep your right there he defo was ex Army
  22. Totally agree with a lot of the good points on here. I pay at the gate, due to work commitments, but wangle shift swaps etc to make most home games and occasional away trips. I will always attend as much as i can, being brought up following Caley from a young age in the Highland League. However we have been pretty pants the last couple of seasons and this might put fans off as they cant see us progressing. We had threatened top six on a couple of occasions in the past, but we never quite make that final push forward. We have gone down the road of buying in players from lower English leagues and this on the whole hasn't worked in my opinion. I would prefer to see a couple of seasoned SPL pros that could give us a couple of seasons and help a long the younger guys. These would be guys that have been across the course on numerousd occasions and know what it requires to progress in to top six perhaps. True we have a local presence in the younger members of the squad, but they now need to kick on and take their chance as the squad is pretty thin across the board.
