  1. To be fair to Ms Smith, the last time football and the church mixed, the stewards had a fit!
  2. ‘She raised concerns of drunken fans disrupting Church congregations‘ Such a shame. I was looking forward to a few pints in the Mallard before steaming into the nearest Church.
  3. John McGlynn has to be the worst dressed manager this year. Tight leggings with a shirt and tie!
  4. Some ICT fans (myself included) were applauding Chris Hogg (who in return gave the customary applaud back to the fans) which then resulted in more fans applauding him. It just happened to be when Tade was coming off. In saying that, Tade did get applause from some main stand folk at the last home game.
  5. Rangers unfairly treated!? Eh? The club were liquidated and relaunched as a Newco, (under Sevco 5088). The SFA bent the rules to allow them to go straight into Division 3 (even after Spartans had already applied). Sevco are very lucky that they are allowed to compete in the Scottish football set up at all. Have you seen the latest from Sevco HQ btw?!
  6. Agent N taking the death of Rangers well then.
  7. Just because they wave union flags, does not make them bigots, if you don't like the flag of this country go and live somewhere else, I would suggest you are the bigot. Today at Parkhead we were entertained by a number of choruses of Paddy McCourt's Fenian army, because we live in a country where people fought and died, under the flag that you consider bigoted, they are entitled to do that. Did I miss your post condemning the waving of the Irish flag and starry plough after the last time Celtic visited Inverness?. ..... Guess you weren't too disappointed in todays result! The SPL hasn't been a breath of fresh air this season, ICT have had a magnificent season, but we all knew that Dundee were up against it and would get relegated and Celtic would win it. I would suggest the only fresh air is between your ears!
  8. I remember beating them 6-0 at Broadwood with Gardner Spiers in charge of Clyde. I think we were Division 2 at the time.
  9. Well yet again Celtic away didn't fail to deliver. Rubbish result but was always going to be a difficult ask to get anything today. I thought in the first half we were strong and tactically Terry and Mo got it spot on. In the second half however, we struggled and Celtic were deserved winners. A handful of us waited to watch the Celtic lap of honour / Neil Lennon speech. Back in the LRT post match it seemed we were noticed as we got a free round of drinks as a thanks. It wasn't our day however. Onwards to Perth!
  10. THEChucklesLeVert ‏ @ChucklesLeVert Statement from Chuckles: " Whilst strenuously denying any wrong doing, I realise that not even the Teds believe that any more, so I'm off."
  11. Struggling to find early openings in East end pubs. Still to figure out if the LRT is opening early, will post on here once I know. They don't answer their phone and it's not the type of pub to have a website lol.
  12. Haven't seen any U20 games. For the U20 regular supporters, are there any players in there that you reckon could make the step up in the summer? (Other than U20 players who already sit on the first team bench each week).
  13. I'd be delighted with a wee trip to Ireland. But if we qualify and we get Uzbekistan or somewhere obscure then I won't be complaining either!
  14. The club formerly known as Rangers has feck all to do with this!
  15. I was quite surprised when I read that as well. Reconstruction and much needed re-distribution of finances were abandoned because members of staff / fans at a certain football club were 'confused'!!! Most people from every other club understood what the set up would have been. It's also strange that all 12 SPL Chairmen (including County and Midden) agreed to this new set up a few months ago when it was first publicly proposed by the SPL. All 12 agreed on the structure / rules and went back to their clubs. Then at the last minute, County were seemingly 'confused' about the set up and Midden wanted to change various parts of the voting structure. Judging by some of the comments in the press, most chairmen were not happy with 100% of what was on offer. However, after months of planning and negotiating with various compromises to suit the desire of various clubs, for Midden to come in at the last minute with new demands is ridiculous. Some compromise was given but they wanted it all. How can clubs go forward if various Chairmen agree to compromises but 1 club won't (and another club are confused?!). The fans have said they don't want the SPL and the league structure in it's current format. The re-distribution of money would have helped the SFL clubs like Raith Rovers and Greenock Morton. Overall Scottish football would have been healthier. Still with major problems and still not a 'perfect' league, but a heck of a lot better than what we've got now. I can't understand how Midden would prefer the current situation!? If they wanted various changes, they would have got at least some of it with the new structure. Why would they then vote to get no changes whatsoever?! I hope that they get relegated next season and after 22 games are adrift by a record number of points for the 12th team!
  16. Ridiculous statement. So they wanted more change to the voting structure. Fair enough. However they weren‘t given all the changes they proposed but were given a concession on the league structure voting. So instead of getting some of the changes they wanted, Gilmour thinks it‘s in Middens best interests to get NO changes!
  17. What is baffling is that Gilmour said he is voting no because the new structure still had 11-1 voting system. According to Milne in the press this was Middens stumbling block. So the Chairmen agreed to change it to 9-3 and he still said no! He seemed to have public reservations about the change not long after Chuckles Le Vert visited Midden Park.
  18. I understand what you're saying about the re-distribution. But look at the overall picture. Under the new proposed financial restructure there would have been a significant decrease in the prize money for the top 2 in the SPL. Ok, there's a chance we may end up 2nd this season (fingers crossed) but for years fans have complained that the top 2 teams get far too much money compared to the rest. 3rd - 8th would get slightly less than what they would get now. Slightly less. 9th-12th would get around the same as they currently get. Teams 13-24 would have got significantly more than what they already get. So the disproportionate amount of money that the top 2 teams currently get would have been shared with the rest, significantly helping the teams lower down and at the very worst, a slight decrease for teams 3rd-8th. What this would have meant for ICT and what appealed to me is if we were to get relegated within the next few years we would have the financial safety net of extra money in the pot taken mainly from the current disproportionate amount in the top 2. So, overall more teams will get stronger with the level playing field and more fairer financial distribution. ICT would benefit knowing that that financial safety net is there if we were to have a disastrous season.
  19. How? More money is would be redistributed from the SPL to the SFL so ICT would see a reduction in money through this avenue. 12-12-18 results in 36 games for the top 24 teams so that equals 1 less home game per season than now so again less money for the club. Sponsors are not gone to be queueing up to invest money in this product any more than they would now as it is still the same clubs just a different league system. So I don't see how it can possibly be financially a better package for us. Glad it has not gone through. I was going to paste in the financial re-distribution graph to answer but I see Don has already done that!
  20. Very disappointed that this wasn't voted through. Financially, it would have been a better package. At first reading I thought the structure was crazy but once I got my head around it I really liked the concept. It would have been much more exciting than the current structure. I'm reading on various social media such as Twitter that ICT fans are complaining that the club didn't consult them. I live in Glasgow now but I was well aware of the open meeting with CJT that was advertised on here, the official website, and elsewhere. I couldn't attend but read all the documentation from the meeting. Happy that Kenny voted yes but it's a shame it wasn't enough for others.
  21. They voted to change the voting structure today as well. Two Chairmen voted No. Gilmour and MacGregor. The 11-1 voting structure stays.
  22. With St Mirren voting no and County looking likely to vote no then it probably wont happen anyway. Personally, I quite like the new set up. If Kenny believes that it is a financially better option then I trust him that this is the case. In terms of the format, if we get into the top 8 then great! We all play each other and if it's as tight as it is this year, the European chase will be interesting. If we are unlucky enough not to make it into the top 8 then at least we can go to different teams stadiums we haven't played in a while. I have no issue with playing 'smaller' teams and it means we can keep an eye on the league below to see who the potential opponents would be. If everyone goes back to zero points after the split, then for the teams that are good enough, this shouldn't be an issue anyway. All in all, I like it for the chase for the top 8 and then European challenge. Or starting from scratch when we've had a pi5h season and travelling to other stadiums we haven't been to in a few years. Makes it much more interesting.
  23. Walk to parkhead in your kilt - problem solved! Decided that I shall do the Kilt Walk myself on the Saturday and attend the game on the Sunday (and then head out to Loch Lomond for the Kilt Walk party!)
  24. Happy with the fixtures, other than the Celtic game clashing with the Kilt Walk. The Highland March will go to Dingwall via Beauly, Cannich, Glen Affric, Kintail, Kyle (over the bridge into Skye and back) Plockton and then back through Wester and Easter Ross into Dingwall. Should be around 130 miles so a bit shorter than last few years but a heck of a lot of off road climbing to make up for it!
