  1. The (totally false) rumour about Butcher hitting someone was started by an Elgin fan on Twitter and then spread by County fans.
  2. Esson is a better communicator than Reguero. I have been impressed with Reguero and have thought that he could be the number 1. However I have to go with Esson. The more I think about it, the more I prefer Esson. He had a good game on Saturday and for me, after consideration, I think he should be our number 1.
  3. Scottish Cup redemption weekend It's Scottish Cup weekend and Inverness visit an olde and familiar haunt at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock looking to get back on track after a couple of setbacks this week. Our last cup game at Kilmarnock saw plenty of off-field activity. There was non-stop chanting about Jimmy and the Killie Pie and a Johndo led Conga to name but a couple. The result was 3-0 to Killie, but this game could easily have ended six all and nobody would have batted an eyelid. Capital Caley's previews are like buses. None for long enough, then three come along at the same time..............read on. We’re on the road again for the third time in a week. This time we head to to Kilmarnock. Caley Thistle head to Killie looking for a win after a heart breaking defeat to big spending Hearts in the League Cup Semi Final and a narrow defeat at the Midden. The Caley Thistle faithful were confident of victory at Midden Park but despite an impressive second half performance by the players they just couldn’t find that final touch and the Midden snatched victory. We’ve had a mixed record at Rugby Park. In the league we’ve had plenty of wins and draws but have suffered defeat twice in the Scottish Cup. After earning a replay at the Caledonian Stadium we headed down to Killie confident of another famous cup shock in February 2001. Barry Robson had put Inverness 1-0 up in stoppage time of the first game. Unfortunately, Killie went up the other end and equalised. (Think how County fans felt in our first Scottish Cup game with them this season!) The replay was thrown into chaos when barely half an hour in the referee decided to abandon the match as freezing temperatures was causing havoc with Davide Xausas perm. In the rescheduled match Davide Xausa put Caley Thistle 1-0 up but Killie finished 2-1 winners and our Scottish Cup dream was over for another year. Steve Patersons lads were so close to going through but it was to be a step too far against SPL opposition. Caley Thistle entered the 5th round of the Scottish Cup this season with a 2-1 victory against the shadow dwellers across the bridge. It was a bitter cold night and certainly not a classic but yet another victory over Uncle Roys big spending village team. The first game was a classic however. Caley Thistle equalised with the last kick of the ball doing what Killie had done to us 11 years ago. The seethe coming from the County end was very clear. Phil Roberts will be desperate to make up for his penalty miss last week and here's hoping he can influence the match as much as he did in Dingwall. View attachment: 121201c.jpg The second time we drew Killie in the Cup it ended in another defeat. This time it was during our promotion push in 2010 with Caley Thistle losing 3-0. The win flattered Killie and the tango man got a bit of an ego bruising that day. http://www.youtube.com/embed/NhRu-dCLqLs Jimmy didn’t like the taste of the pies as much as was expected and he was away at the end of the season. Mixu came and left and then entered Kenny Shiels. Kenny is loved by the Kilmarnock fans but generally despised by everyone else in Scottish football. I’m sure everyone is surprised he is even still at Kilmarnock as it is well documented he isn’t a fan of travelling. Perhaps his next job will be with an Ayrshire Junior side. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/kilmarnock-boss-kenny-shiels-raging-1129786 The Caley Thistle faithful made their way to Easter Road last week in big numbers. Numbers were naturally lower at the Midden and should return to its natural 100-200 on Saturday. No trip to Killie would be complete without fans assembling at the Hunting Lodge pre match. They even put food on for us earlier in the season. They know how to look after their guests. Another must see tourist attraction in Kilmarnock is Fannies, which we usually pop into after the match. A word of warning though. Don’t buy the 20p shots of chocolate vodka in the wee shop next door! It’s been a tough week for the Caley Jags. Still riding high in 2nd spot in the SPL but the players will be desperate for the win on Saturday to keep our cup hopes alive. Danny Devine came in for injured David Raven at the Midden and impressed on his debut. Raven should be available for selection tomorrow. Personally I wouldn’t change the line up but Terry Butcher may want to change things for the cup competition. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ryan Esson back in goals. He’s acting like Zebedee standing behind the goals warming up desperate for his chance to return to the starting XI. Ross Draper is suspended for this game. Our last trip to Rugby Park resulted in a 2-1 victory for Caley Thistle. A repeat of that scoreline would do nicely. Although a draw would see Kiliie travelling up to Inverness mid week. Kenny Shiels seethe at this prospect would be most pleasing. The Scottish Cup is a magical tournament. This may not be a fairytale game but it really is a must win game. The lads need a quick confidence boost to bounce back from 2 defeats. A win on Saturday will help boost the confidence needed in our challenge for 2nd spot. A win on Saturday takes us one game away from Hampden (or Edinburgh if we get drawn against Hibs!) One step at a time though. This can still be a special season. Lets get back on track with a win on Saturday. Caley Away with Terry and Mo! CapitalCaleys prediction: Last week I didn't want to tempt fate but we lost anyway. Therefore i'm going for a reverse of the Jimmy says Aye score line. Kilmarnock 0-3 Caley Thistle
  4. Chateau Elderslie to give it it‘s proper name ;)
  5. I'm sold too. Glad it was investigated fully though. From that link: "so in effect Danny Wilson's ban was served in the first league match of the season, at home to Arsenal on 15 August 2010." But what if it wasn't 'served'. No reports mention there was any suspensions in that game. Yes, he didn't play. If he was just merely not included in the squad, but wasn't listed as suspended he then did not serve a suspension. So in effect, the suspension would still stand. Media report suggest that there was no suspension for that game. One media report even mentions Wilson could feature. Of course, if the SFA were to get hold of the official documentation then they could prove it. But they have not published it. I assume because if they did publish it, it would tell us what most of us already suspect.
  6. Served at Liverpool according to the SFA....
  7. This is not finished as DD said. How can it be competition specific but suspension took place in another country? Why didn‘t they mention the Arsenal game originally? If he was suspended for that game why did they need to ask before our game? Know one can find any record of him being suspended for that game. In fact the Guardian lists no suspensions for that game. We cannot let this go until we get the truth. All I want is an honest answer. We wont get a replay out of it but we deserve the truth.
  8. Yes yes yes. We know the paper work says there‘s no ban. But according to the SFA source, Hearts approached them before the game. They acknowledge that in his last league cup game he was red carded. They also acknowledge this means he must miss his next league cup game. So my question is, when they realised the paper work was wrong (before the match was played) why did they still tell Hearts he can play? (Assuming the ‘source‘ in the STV article is telling the truth).
  9. Yes i‘m sure it was an error. But the error was noticed BEFORE the game and the SFA alledgedly told Hearts to play him anyway. That‘s what annoys me. If it was an oversight noticed after the match then I wouldn‘t be bothered. The transfer embargo gets lifted, they sign 2 Premiership players, one which in ineligible for the game. They speak to the SFA who know fine well that the rules state he should be suspended, but can‘t find it in their paperwork. Meanwhile clubs like Caley Thistle run things with such a tight budget but have to suffer because of the error.... that was found BEFORE the game - according to STV article.
  10. I had to read that STV article a couple of times just to be clear. But what i'm getting from it is: An un-named spokesman for the SFL confirmed that he was sent off in his last League Cup game. He then confirmed that the penalty for this is suspension of the next League Cup game. The SFL know this. Hearts know this. But someone didn't write it on a piece of paper so they thought feck it he can play!
  11. I think this was another of the refs many mistakes. Having said that Toni did go through his wee routine of placing his towel and water bottle. He then went to the post and kicked the mud of his boots. And then after that, he stopped to pull each of his his socks up, even though they were up already. I think that was the final straw for the ref. He then got his flask out and had a cup of coffee with a biscuit... He didn't offer a biscuit to the referee. School boy error.
  12. Quick pint in Horseshoe then going to the Wetherspoons beside the station at Paisley, then of course the Alamo then the Midden.
  13. Ahh that was difficult to take. We didn't play well at all. However, with our chances we should have won. Feel sorry for Roberts. Hopefully we can bounce back with a win at the Midden and then a cup win at Killie. I always had a sort of niggling feeling about this game when they announced that the game will go ahead in Hearts home city. It's 4 years to the day since Terry and Mo arrived. A disappointing way to mark it but we can still have good times ahead.
  14. I think of the Greig Street Bridge when I sing it.
  15. Hearts have announced earlier today that they have sold just over 10,000 tickets.
  16. Ha! It even sounds like him as well ;)
  17. I like Hogg but our strongest back line is Raven Warren Meekings and Shinnie. Great to see Hogg back though. I also like Cooper. He was pretty solid against Perth so no need for a loan spell imho.
  18. As Fraz stated. I was referring to top 10 rows meaning at the back. So row 11 would be in front of the top 10.
  19. I see this thread going the same way as the milk thread....
  20. It‘s very simple. Take for example the top 10 rows of the north stand. Kenny Cameron or Peter Macallam tell the stewarding company (that ICT employ) that this is a standing area. The fans come in (one fan to a seat) standing and watch the game. They arent blocking any views and if the stewards regulate it so that it is one person standing per seat then it is ‘safe‘........
