  1. Whilst looking on OverTheBridge at all the Hayes gossip, I came across their 'Memorial Trophy' thread... They really are up for this. They had another training session the other day. Seem's like their striker is either very good, or their keeper is completely rubbish. He's scored a few in their wee 7-a-side training sessions so far. I'm quite a competetive chap, and although this is meant to be a fun match, there's no way i'll be wanting to walk away without that trophy. The gym will be my home for the next few weeks (if I can get away from the beer fridge). Bring 'em on!!! Grrrr
  2. I'll Play... Oh to put one over on my home town team. Lol. Fair few pals asking me about this. Aside from the fans match, this is what I'll be looking forward to pre season
  3. I'll play :D
  4. In which case, I'll throw my hat in the ring for a start up front
  5. TheKarl - Are you 'Wum' in disguise? Seriously pal, there are other ways to generate some team spirit than slag people off that didn't make it down for a damn photo!! Quite cheesed off by that comment tbh. Completely uncalled for!! Anyway, I digress... Looking forward to this game. Had a run out for my local welfare team the other day. Felt good and bagged the 4th in the 6-2 win. I know 3 lads who are playing as we've all played together before. And I must say, our keeper (BA) is gonna be one hell of a keeper to beat! Looking forward to starting up front with IHE. Sounds like that, with his form and mine, we're gonna have one hell of a strike partnership! (That's if I make the starting 11 of course). I know Capital has tried to keep everyone in the loop via e-mail, but for everyone else clarity, can we please confirm the details of the match... by this i mean, is it rolling subs, who's all playing, what is the line up. Whats the itinerary for the team pre-match and indeed is there a 'party' afterwards. One or two people I know of may take the trip down for this, but considering the fuel costs etc, it may be worth allowing these people to join in more than just turing up and paying their £3... Just a thought
  6. Don't get me wrong, I love the red and blue combo, I just think the strip we wore (colour combo and stripe design) in our division 3 days was the best we've ever had and was unique in that no other team looked identical.
  7. I was about to locate the e-mail sent out by Capital and perhaps see when the Inverness based ICT players were free for a kick-about.
  8. Our kit should be 'a la division 3' A dark blue and purple striped strip. No other team I can think of has that colour combination. And it'd eliminate the need for the design to have to incorpoate the red and black of thistle with the blue and white of caley. We are, after all, one team.
  9. Here's a thought for you if you don't like someone's thread rather than just be rude why don't you ignore it I presume the same can be said for other peoples' posts on threads also [inserts well known Derek and Clive comment]
  10. Oh, great... yet another boring and negative thread.
  11. This thread has got really quite boring now that it's turning into an 'I told you so' slanging match...
  12. gordieICT, the way I see it, there is no spin coming from Butcher. Butcher hasn't said a damn thing regarding Rossco yet so where on earth is the spin of which you speak. The only 'spin' on the Rossco story is coming from The Sun, Mrs Tokely's facebook page and the theories flying about these very forums as a result. And all from the same very people who have moaned about Munro's departure all season. Call me a happy clapper, accuse me of falling into butchers so called trap or whatever the heck you like. The FACT of the matter is Rossco was offered a contract and he has refused it. There simply wouldnt be this discussion if Munro and Duncan hadn't been released last year, nor would there be this discussion had it been any other member of the squad. I can;t wait to see what happens next year when Ross or Sutherland get released. But I bet it'll have some sort of 'butcher slaughters our team' conspiracy attached to it.
  13. Re: Brewster video... 1:43 says it all
  14. Naïve!? More like realistic. These conspiracy theories wouldn't be doing the rounds had Munro not been released last season. 3 legends leave in 2 seasons and all of a sudden it's doom and gloom. If Rossco was so concerned with money and his financial future, he would have taken the money move to Turkey 2 seasons ago. We don't know if it was a standard pay that was offered, standard pay with performance based bonuses, or a wage that reflected the part he was perhaps going to play next year (eg mostly substitute). We'll never hear how much the offer was much the same as we'll probably never get a real story as to why RD and GM left. End of the day, he turned down whatever was on the table. There's no denying that, no matter the theory
  15. Away shirt will change next year. Although the black kit was probably my favorite, the yellow and blue stripes were quite good too (although I would say that ;) )
  16. I don't think I'll buy one because of the way the club treats it's long serving players... Oh wait, sorry. Just with other threads going the same way I'm in the habit of seeing negativity... I buy a shirt every season and actually liked the design of some of the other clothing range last season. The white tracksuit jacket in particular. Looking forward to seeing this years design. Hopefully it'll be striped again and not a 'swoosh' effect as per a couple seasons back.
  17. Subject to the fixture's and my working rota falling nicely into place, I'll be looking at getting a season ticket for the forthcoming campaign. 220 for an adult and 2 kids may be the best bet. Saves a few more pennies and the kids get a day out. Amazing how the club lacks finances to pay players wages when fans turn their backs on the club because 1 player leaves. Who would have thought!
  18. I can't see any similarities between munro and tokely's departures. Munro was told weeks before the end of the season that no offer would be forthcoming. Rossco has been offered a new deal and turned it down. All season people have moaned about munro's departure. I fear another season forthcoming of non-supportive jibes and negativity in the fan base because of Rossco not staying on. Time to move on...
  19. 'Such circumstances' being what? HE turned down a contract offer. I'd no doubt think about this issue entirely differenyly if it was handled in the same manner in which Dennis Wyness left the last time. IE with the offer being retracted when the player had agreed to sign. THAT was a shocking way to treat a legend! I can't see how him being offered a contract, regardless of how much of a cut in wage or whatever, can be deemed mis-treatment. The mere fact he was offered an extention would suggest he was wanted in some capacity. unfortunately now that he's stated his intent in the press and on social media to not want to sign, he's burning as many bridges toward the club as the club may be towards him
  20. Rossco - 33yo who, to me, seemed less interested in the season as it went on. Perhaps his quietest season for us, and much of the time just had his head down and got on with it Golobart - 19yo loanee with 'the potential' to go further. Gave 110% every week and more than put in the effort to make amends for any mistakes he made (which, once he found his feet) were few and far between. With all due respect to Sir Tokely, I know which of the 2 I would opt for if I was looking to the future and long-term aims of the club. For long enough fans (myself included) have said how the club seems to lack ambition by trying to get new talent to the Highlands, and indeed retain them if/when we happen to find a gem. Now they've chosen to do this, the fans are seemingly appalled at this particular change in tradition at our club. Williams didn't come to us until midway through the season IIRC, so to say rosscoe kept him out the team is inaccurate. Rosscoe himself struggled to maintain his place towards season end, suggesting that he either wasn't as good as other options around him, or that he'd not recovered fully from an slight injury. I'll add here that I wish rosscoe all the best for the future. A true legend of the club and someone local kids have and will look up to. It's a shame there's so much speculation and/or conspiracy theories around his departure and I would have loved to say a proper goodbye to him. But these things happen in life and in football. Should he and/or the club have a change of heart and he stays, I'll be delighted, but I can't help thinking it may be the right decision for the future
  21. You make a good point Yngwie in that 'ICT hasn't retracted its contract offer'. It's made me wonder as to whether Rossco could be waiting on a better offer from another club, and should one not be forthcoming, come back accepting the offer? Who knows? I've read a lot of the comments made on here and everyone seems to think that the club (or rather, TB) is trying to dismantle the club by releasing players with legendary status. Although I can understand that point of view, I can't really join this particular bandwagon when I reflect on what TB and the club are trying to achieve. Players who we would never get outwith a loan spell have come and tried to strengthen the side. Davies, Williams, Golobart and others. All players who many have said would make the grade at a Championship level or higher. Andrew Shinnie, Billy McKay and Ryan Esson will be our heros next term, and so long as Foran encourages from the back rather than criticising from the front, we will do well I think. Rosscoe is now 33 years of age and although I still think he is still a cracking defender, I'm unsure as to if he'd be able to perform at SPL level for another full season. Grant Munro is a classic example of 'finding his level' in that he struggled in the SPL the year we got relegated, excelled at Division 1 grade, struggled back in the SPL and was again sensational at Division 1 level. Division 1 is his level. Perhaps Rosscoe's level is now also Division 1???
  22. Same site says Hayes and Doran (300k) have both gone to Barnsley
  23. I mentioned the electronic games night a while ago. Probably around the time Boardroom Banter was still alive and kicking. So long as people have an interest in this sort of thing, it doent really matter if it's a football related game or something else. After all, I doubt the ladies would hold much appeal for FIFA 12, and perhaps would feel better playing Just Dance or some sort of Kareoke game. My personal fave would be something akin to guitar hero or band hero. everyone can get involved and the players can create their own band. a sort of 'battle of the bands' night verses the players.
  24. I suppose with ICT only offering 1 or 2 year deals at present, the 3 years deal at Stevenage may well be better. After all, if he delivers down there, then he'll get a cut of any sign on fee should he move. Even if Stevenage offered the same wage, 3 years is obviously more appealing to a player than 1 or 2.
  25. I'll add here my best wishes to Greg. Shame we couldn't hold on to him. I had hoped he would stay following his words the other day stating he'd like to. All the best Greg
