  1. Might have known Dougal would be the first person to disagree The stand out point in the video for me is about 13 seconds in, when you see the crowd at the front getting bigger and bigger. Not a single steward seems to try and prevent it, and the police presence is practically zero. So, why should I, therefore, part with my hard earned cash to be told to sit down, shut up, stop swearing, stop singing and thus stop encouraging my team and supporting my team when the away support, partiularly either side of the Old Firm, are persistently allowed to do what they do in the video? Add to that the fact you're almost certain to be sat in close proximity to an opposing supporter in the home ends too... Yes, 12th man, I see where you're coming from in terms of 'its a home game and i like to watch ICT play', but I also like to enjoy myself at the games, and part of the enjoyment for me is being able to get behind my team without being chastised for doing so... I missed Celtics league visit up here back in November. I instead CHOSE to stay away and go for a walk with family and friends as part of my Highland March training. We took in the Nairn County Highland League match instead and what a day we had. We saw the latter part of the Celtic match on tv amongst some banter from Lossie fans, had a spot of lunch and some beers, watched a very entertaining 3-3 encounter and I probably spent around 20 quid in total during the course of the day. Rangers are up here in a few weeks time. Nairn County are once more at home (to Fraserburgh). I'm very tempted to don the walking boots and repeat Novembers antics. Heck, I might even start at Nairn and walk to Forres, and take in their home match against Pele's Formatine United.
  2. The above link was posted on a friend of mine's facebook earlier today after our loss to the tims, and for some reason it's hit a nerve... This is one of the main reasons I don't go to games when the Old Filth are in town. IE Our own supporters get chastised for standing, chanting and having a good time, yet in the South stand the fans can party and no-one bats an eyelid.
  3. HT: 0-2 FT: 1-3 Hayes Tokely (OG) 6169
  4. I think the biggest words of encouragement for our lads, comes from the words of one Neil Lennon... From the BBC website "They play some very good football. We couldn't have got a tougher tie than Inverness away." To me, that would suggest Lennon is more than worried about making it through to the next round. We're already fired up for this, and even the water bottles are ready for a kicking...
  5. With Chris Wood going back to West Brom, Rooney's opertunities will only get better. Having said that, I think Rooney has been very, very lucky. The Blues will know he can score else they wouldn't have signed him. With Zigic injuryed at the start of the campaign, and Woods away now, even as a 3rd striker behind these two (and/or marlon king) he's always going to get a chance. Hayes, on the other hand, would find it harder to break into a team such as celtic, dundee united or any championship side, when you consider some of the class that is already on show. Hayes would be far better to pen a 2-3 year extention, produce his best, develop, and when he feels the time is right, move on to another club knowing ICT will get some dosh. If an injured Lee Cox can go to Swindon for £50,000, I'm sure a fully fit Hayes would be worth a minimum £200k in a year or two
  6. A few of us were wondering where on earth he went after leaving ICT. But according to the live transfer news on BBC website, he is set to join Partick Thistle on a 6-month deal.
  7. According to the Transfer updates on BBC... 1108: Midfielder Lee Cox has completed his move from Inverness Caledonian Thistle to Swindon Town. Good Luck Lee. You've been a fantastic player for us over the last three years and I'm sorry to see you go. All the best...
  8. I wonder if March 17th will then become our re-arranged SPL fixture against St Johnstone from New Year?
  9. HT: 0-1 FT: 2-1 1st ICT: Tade 1st Opp: Imrie Crowd: 3469
  10. I think I mentioned earlier that Fridge was an ok understudy to Jim Calder, as was Michael Fraser under Mark Brown, but when they were given starts they were hopeless. Still think Zibi was worse. I'll throw Zander Sutherland in to this. Although he had pace and the desire to take people on, his distrubution was shocking, and his ability to tackle was worse than david beckhams (ie non existant)
  11. Is Davide Xausa still playing??
  12. A line up with no Munro or Duncan... Interesting

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/2012/01/26/transfer-talk-january-26-2012-celtic-miss-out-on-jones-rangers-in-for-uche-rae-of-hope-for-dons-86908-23721073/ Above is the link to the Daily Record's tranfer news. It reports a £25,000 fee, which when you look at it on the whole I think would be a good bit of business for all concerned. Imrie left us for £35,000 and, despite what some may say about his attitude and arrogance, was IMO a better player.
  14. I was actually meaning a full team of former ICT players who are currently still playing, rather than players you'd have back to replace what we already have... For me GK: Brown Def: Munro, Mann, McBain, Hastings Mid: Davis, Black, Cowie, Rankin For: Wyness, Rooney All players are still currently playing, and if they were now on the form they were when playing for us, I think that'd be a strong side!
  15. I think we're all agreed then that Zibi is our worst keeper then? Michael Fraser was good as an understudy to Mark Brown, and but for a worlc-class save against Celtic (you remember the one) I'd perhaps stick him on the bench under Zibi... Then again, Les Fridge was in the same fram under Jim Calder...
  16. As per the 'Wouldn't' thread, but only players you would perhaps like to see back in ICT colours. To avoid getting into another 'all time team' debate, we'll base this thread on players currently still playing. Grant Munro would probably be on everyone's list (and please lets try and avoid more debate on him leaving in the first place; and how) But what about Bobby Mann, Mark Brown, Dennis Wyness. Or perhaps Don Cowie, Barry Robson or John Rankin make the list...
  17. With Chris Hogg being offered a new contract, I noticed a 'tweet' where someone said it wasn't a good idea, particularly as he's on a long term injury list and turned his back on a new contract before re-signing. This got me thinking about former ICT players who you'd perhaps not want to see back in ICT colours. The likes of Dougie Imrie, Andy Barrowman and Zibi Malkowski all spring to mind for me. So, can we make an ICT starting line-up consiting of players we perhaps don't want back at ICT. I'll offer Zibi between the sticks. Despite his lack of games for us, his reputation for making errors at important moments in games is enough for me. Dougie Imrie, despite being a good player on his day, is full of a kind of arrogance that I really despise. His infamous 'do you know who i am' rants at nightclubs and his 'i am more holy than now' attitude really put me off the guy. Andy Barrowman was an absolute desaster. Yes he secured our first ever league win over Aberdeen, but he was dire in almost every performance thereafter, epitimised when he came on as a sub in a cup match at TCS and fluffed and open-goal opertunity from 2 yards. SO: Zibi Imrie Barrowman
  18. To be fair on Hamill the ball hit his chest first and caught his arm as he went down. Similar to a Gillet handball claim against Motherwell last week Maybe our luck with penalties is starting to change when you consider those that have gone against us already this season???
  19. They were all excellent today, although Ryan had little to do and Proctor seemed a bit annomynous to me. It's going to be interesting to see how the votes go on the player of the season poll for todays game....
  20. Not seen that section either. Undefeated at hom eon this date
  21. Still a long way to go until the split, but if we can win next week, we're in with a cracking chance
  22. Fantastic performance from all out lads today. Great to see Shane get a start and mark it with a deserved goal (although I reserved celebrations until the ball actually crossed the line) I would probably say the only thing to disappoint today was the weather. But that can't be helped. Well Done lads - Here's to the same again next week when the Midden are in town
  23. hamilton 2.25
