  1. Roy, don't give us your external factors excuse, it was blatantly only affecting your floodlights! Huge shock for all us fans when we saw line-up. Even weirder when we saw the shape they took on the field - G Shinnie right back?? Tremarco on from start at left back?? Tremarco was great, gutted for him that game was abandoned. Not to say Shinnie didn't do fine, but we all know he has so much more to offer on the left, and it just didn't work with him on the right. Anyway, top marks for Butcher for ringing the changes!
  2. Really sad news. I hope this is marked in some way tomorrow, whether it's a silence or a chant - which I think would be really fitting. I'm sure a few of us in the Caley Club will be raising a glass to him too.
  3. Spoke to a Birmingham fan about this today. They were joking about how its very possibly likely that he would be signed with the promise that "the team will be built around you" as they are due to lose 23 players in summer between those out of contract and those at end of loan. So getting a game may very well not be an issue! The club are in a bad way with a very uncertain future, however they have a huge history behind them, and surely still a large following. I honestly think that Andy would be better here for another season, playing with his pals, enjoying himself and being all bit guaranteed a start every week. Surely this is his first "proper" season, playing at top level and (touch wood) unhampered by injury. As said previously, prove it wasnt a one off, have a great season excelling yourself in a system which plays to your strengths and dont lose any time at the peak of your career. I truly believe that, not just as an ict fan. Undoubtedly its a tough decision for any footballer to make and a big gamble, except short term financially.
  4. Didn't hear it, but can honestly say I don't know one single ICT fan who not only wants them to be in SPL, but wants C*unty to finish in top 6 - at least one place below us, of course! Bizarre that he would want to antagonise like that, completely inapprorpiate.
  5. Could it be considered to be a bit of a slap in the face to those in squad who took us this far this season - 3 loan players on bench, and the other just signed a few weeks ago? Happy they are there if they are our strongest players, just wonder how it'll be perceived by the likes of Sutherland and Pepper.
  6. Rarely will we witmess such an an all round team performance. No-one deserved to win MOM today, and I say that in the most complimentary way possible. Everyone battled for every ball, and to be only one up for most of the game was the most inaccurate reflection I've ever see, yet we were so comfortable. Incredible save from Reguero early on, Warren lapped everything up for rest of the match, Raven was a formidabale attacking threat going forward and covered all he had to with his team-mates cover defensively, Meekings made a few critical interceptions, Shinnie covered Griffiths all the way, Jones and Draper ran the show and our attacking players were impressive beyond belief. Wow, just wow. Feckin love being a caley thistle fan at the moment.
  7. Like Alex, I'm also sorry to disagree - nobody around where I was sitting considered the throwing of whatever it was to add to the "incredible atmosphere" and we were disappointed that our fans would behave like that, particularly knowing that it could cause our club a fine, as well as the safety issue. There are many ways to show your support for the club, but this sure as heck wasn't one of them. We're better than that, and saying its ok cos other clubs do it is not going to win me over!
  8. Yup, me plus 3, staying overnight too
  9. Not what I wanted to hear, definitely the sort of guy you want to have at your club. Has to be one of the most decent guys ever to play for us too, and I absolutely genuinely wish him all the best wherever his career takes him next.
  10. Malin signed a new contract this week, and apparently their third choice keeper also signed a new deal too, so I'd be very surprised if it's County, unless he's been promised a regular start ahead of Fraser!
  11. Hoped things werent as bad as feared when I heard comments on radio, however text from friend at match confirmed they feared the worst, as did contact from friend in home end. Totally gutted, as said many times before result absolutely immaterial. Killie fans have posted very touching comments on their forum, very much appreciated and they unanimously agree result least important factor of afternoon. Must add thanks to everyone for not posting details of identity here or speculation - would be easy to do so but let's wait for official announcement or posting from family/friend.
  12. Poor display, but even poorer management. I'm probably the umpteenth person to say it, but I'll say it nonetheless as it's obvious to all us fans - Mackay is by no means a lone striker and our system was horrifically unfair to him (1x 5'7 attacker vs 2/3/4 6'+ defenders only ever has one winner, despite Billy's absolute best efforts), Tansey's starting berth begs belief and Tade and Sutherland don't work out wide. Tade is very much a form player and it was apparent from early on that nothing was going his way and he needed subbed, yet Ross was kept on bench till too late (not the type of guy to instantly turn a game) and Winnall bizarrely never got near the pitch, yet Gnapka got a run out. Not one did I see TB or MM encourage the team, all the screaming did was instill more fear in the players. Fair play to those on the pitch, didnt see Foran do his usual turn-on-teammates stuff, and amazingly Tokely and Golabart didn't have a bust up after a crigeworthy mess on second half. Tokely most obvious MoM in a longtime, passmarks to Shinnie too.
  13. Cheapish entry, guess it has to be given the combination of midweek game and being on Sky - £10/£5 http://www.dafc.co.uk/page/AdmissionPrices/0,,10288,00.html
  14. Steve Brown, the St Johnstone chairman, apparently made an announcement over the tannoy of the train travelling north saying it was entirely our club's fault that game was called off, nothing to do with police and that ICT told them at 0930 this morning that the game was not in any danger and no need for a pitch inspection. If that's not incitement then goodness knows what is, although I've every sympathy for the fans if that's true.
  15. Rarely post these days but feel obliged as thoroughly disagree. Golobart was imho one of our best players today, solidly cleared everything that came his way throughout the match. I lay blame for Utd's second goal firmly with Davis - they had throw on half way line, he belatedly waved Hayes back to cover right back and surprise - they put ball there and score. What did he think he could do against a throw at half way line that Hayes couldn't? And what could he do at right back that Hayes couldn't - correct, defend. His reaction said it all. His determination to bomb up park at all costs cost us for 3rd too, left us exposed. Top marks for effort, fantastic play to set up opener but lack of discpline defence wise cost us dear. Having said all that, I blame poor management decision to play him there. He wanted to win, sadly it cost us.

  17. ...misbehaving being an understatent Disgusting
  18. Well, what can we say - we love you Danni... Can't rememember when we last saw you score up here, in the most part for lack of opportunity! One goal and one assist from short time on pitch today though = totally terrific. Fantastic finish for goal, and set Rooney up perfectly for second. Please please Terry, give us (him) more! Good on Terry for taking Foran off, not every manager would make that move and take captain off. Ross undoubtably (imho) our MOM, long may his form continue. Clean sheet for Tuffey, can't ask for more for a keeper. Top display from their keeper, not going to patronise them and say they deserved a replay, but they did... Anyone going by stats online/radio, don't be fooled - reckon very very few home fans thought Elgin were incapable of snatching victory with late breaks, pretty much everyone in stadium were holding their breaths. Results elsewhere show nothing to be taken for granted - we're through, and that's what matters.
  19. Nice feature about it on FAI website http://www.fai.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=101217:u21s-looking-for-strong-finish-to-campaign&catid=3:under-21&Itemid=11
  20. I'm firmly in the pro-Ross camp for yesterday - thought that was the best I'd seen him play, particularly as stated previously, the second half, when he looked like the only player who was likely to make things happen for us. I've certainly not thought that in previous games, but he impressed me with his keenness and positive attitude yesterday, chasing every ball and putting tackles in which I wouldn't have expected to have seen from previous outings. As for the make-him-get-bigger comments - unfortunately for him it's probably not as easy as that, he's still young and will bulk out naturally in due course - augmented by gym sessions, I would expect! There's no rush - I'd rather a slender but talented player who could beat players and put in crosses than a muscley chap with less skill who couldn't.
  21. See part 5 for licencing application. If you click on INBS 119-10 within it, you'll get more info. Looks like it was on agenda of Licencing Committee on 2nd August, no idea what outcome was. My link

    McBain

...and a certain right footed volley in Dingwall many years ago - probably one of my favourite ever ICT goals, certainly one of the most memorable. Think Roy himself was the most surprised person in the stadium when it went in!
  23. http://www.blackpooltransport.com/timetables/timetable.html Looks like trams are still not running north of Cleveleys. They were stopping there when i was down there just a few days ago, and from what I believe it's longish term disruption. On the plus side, there are plenty of buses - try a 1 or 14.
  24. Morris looked the best out of the trialist defenders who were on show, won everything in air but admittedly had a horrific sliced miskick from punt in the box which went goalbound. To be fair, it wasn't much of a test for the defenders on trial, not a lot came their way so they were really being judged on a few touches. Hopefully training and pther friendlies will proivde a much better gauge for making a decision, there's certainly decent pedigree amongst them but little was shown today. McCann looked promising, though faded in second half. Confident touches and lay offs under pressure. Shinnie worked his a$$ off (in left midfield) although wasted/good saves at the 2 clear chances he had and Morrison had some lovely touches in second half. Eric's first 2 were literally tap ins but he still had impressive sprinting prowess at end of game, must be some fit lad (although strolls in a way you'd think otherwise when game not near him). You can never criticise a right time right place finisher though. Gil Blumanshtein was deceptive - looked to be carrying a few pounds too many but looks like he has a good footballing mind and created space out of nowhere on the few occasions he got the ball. Intriguing, and will definitely be pushing dani/eric for a place. All in all, a typical pre-season friendly. As was mentioned, Rooney was never gonna score and if he was a trialist we'd be instantly dismissing him. So I'm happy to put my faith in Terry and Mo in picking out who is worthy of a place in the squad over fairer period. Oh and agreed, Shane Sutherland was a nuisance and impressed.
  25. Well done Adam, delighted for you, you've worked so hard and getting both the club's fans and players POY shows how much everyone appreciates your talent and workrate, to top it off with the prestige of best in the league is no surprise to us - best player at best club after all! Really hope you get the chance to prove it in SPL now, have no doubt at all that you'll be an instant addition to Terry's teamsheet without a second thought and that you've both a tremendous season and future ahead of you. With ICT, of course!!
