  1. Highlight of the day was most definitely the third goal. He'd actually been very close to scoring with time he got the ball, ran half the length of the pitch but couldn't beat the keeper. Baird was unmarked in the middle throughout and he'll never get off with passing in the same situation ever again! Scoreline probably makes the game seem more interesting that it was. One goal was right at the start and another was right at the end, there wasn't much going on in between. Midfield was a huge disappointment. Chalmers in centre midfield is hopefully a sight we'll never see again. Calder did indeed seem lacking in effort on a few occasions, I wasn't impressed despite the goal. Polworth - again, despite the goal - had a shocker and Vigurs is either composed and calm or pedestrian and lazy depending on your viewpoint. Tremarco definitely isn't making the same runs as he used to (possibly due to instructions) and the rest of the defence did ok again 2 big guys. Rory should probably have been off for raised hands but it was indeed handbag stuff. Baird tried very hard but very few lay offs or passes worked. Now to the positives - very reassuring to see OFW in goal, and the biggest positive of all for me was Bell. What a wee livewire, and gave his all throughout. Bemused by decision to sub him as were most of the crowd I believe, hence muted applause for him. Crowd announced as 930. Hugely disappointing but not unexpected and could be say deserved.
  2. For sure. Was struggling to this who in this current squad wins the accolade of My Favourite Player. Thank goodness for Tremarco! Sadly zero challengers in my eyes at the moment, hope to goodness that changes in the near future.
  3. Just wanted to echo what others have said before regarding this NOT being just about the smoke bomb/flares/whatever the heck they are. I commented after a game recently how the result was spoilt by the behaviour of some of these guys after the game, where some of them were running along outside the stadium afterwards singing the sort of nonsense that's nothing to do with our club but everything to do with the old firm, and then going on to intimidate our own fans on the walk into town afterwards. This goes back a good few seasons, and I've got friends who'll never go on a bus to an away game again due to the way they behaved towards them. I'm not interested in the argument that oh it's only smoke bombs/oh it's only a small group/och they are just young boys - it's wrong, it's against regulations, it's offending other fans and I couldn't care less whether it's accepted at other clubs or not, it's neither welcome or accepted at our club. What's almost laughable is that I know that the club were intending to engage with these guys and discuss how they could work together to enhance the atmosphere. That ship has now firmly sailed.
  4. I'm pretty sure it was said at Monday's meeting that the £500000 new investment was from people who were already investors in the club. No surprise there!
  5. Massive plate of doughnuts upon arrival, always a good start! I - along with several other small groups and individuals - have met with Danny over the last couple of weeks and it was fantastic to see the same commitments and promises being made by the chairman in public as the COO said to us. It was great to see the chairman fully backing both Danny and Robbo ie plans for both off and on the park, and apparently very open indeed to criticism and feedback. He seems like he's a pretty shrewd man, and if last night is a fair representation then he's both a good talker and listener. Might seem odd to anyone who didn't witness it directly, but the comments about Raven and OFW came across as fair and logical. Very different circumstances as has already been said. Raven obviously still held in high regard but OFW - hmmm not quite! Touched on Doran's situation which I don't think has been mentioned so far. Fair way to go until we see him again, and the over-riding message was that he's been through a horrific time and it's been touch and go whether he his football career would continue. Sounds like a host of folk from here will get an invite to meet up and give their opinions too, please take it if you get the chance. Plenty gone wrong in the past but with Graham Rae, Danny and Robbo we have 3 people with a clean slate, positive outlooks and who want to engage. Fingers crossed they live up their claims, I for one buy into what they are saying and willing to give them the opportunity to follow through. Oh and for anyone who is worried about youth, I firmly believe that Robbo and Danny are two great fans of the youth systems and fingers crossed we'll see evidence of that on the pitch for the first team sooner rather than later.
  6. A good day, room for improvement but they were happy to take feedback on board and make changes for future weeks. Looks likely that the format will continue, basically back to Kingsmills Club type days. Chairman was wandering around introducing himself to everyone beforehand and did a speech afterwards, other board members around too. Got the impression our new chairman may not be a football man but maybe I was just thrown by the accent lol. Talk by Robbo prior to match and summary by him afterwards, a rather downbeat Warren came in after for his (screw top prosecco - hmmm...) MOM award with a rather worrying limp, hopefully nothing major up. Everyone spoke sincerely of how fans have been let down in the past and they want to improve things, will give them opportunity over next month or so to see if actions back it up. Would very much encourage everyone to give it a go if offer comes up again, great value at a tenner (and great new barman ;-))
  7. Robbo said after the game today that they are looking to bring in short term cover for Zschusschen
  8. Another vote for giving Raven and Seedorf a trial on the right. Robbo's post match interview told us exactly where Raven is in his thoughts though. Very scathing about Polworth and Mulraney. Speaking out in public like that may have a positive impact on some players but got to be careful, could destroy someone. Finally can I make a last call for some of our supporters to join the 21st century - guy during game calling our new striker "Suzi f***ing Wong" and young boys running along in front of the stadium singing the Fields of Athenry were both pretty pitiful, frankly.
  9. Scott Davidson is apparently in high demand amongst Highland League teams and could have had his pick. Seems to be unclear whether he's signed or on trial during pre-season but either way I'm delighted we're looking at promising HL players. Heard about this during the week and the person who told me had great confidence in Davidson's ability to step up.
  10. Absolutely shameful interview. The only one looking bad is Foran. Very few players who didn't start - and he seems to be exempting all of them - were not his signings. And as is blatantly obvious, if he can't manage them and has to resort to raising it in public, well... For me it extends beyond that. Who in the squad can trust Foran going forward, knowing that he's liable to hang folk out to dry in public?
  11. A lot of decisions will be outwith our hands thanks to players being out of contract, on the other hand I guess tough decisions will need to be made to balance the books. For me - Gk - if Cammy Mackay up to it, go for it. MUST ensure back up though. Def - realistically, with the exception of Meekings who I assume will go, I think we've got a chance of keeping the rest as I think either a) they are dedicated to club or b) this is right level/alternative offers might not be forthcoming. Would like to think mainly the former. Would retain Horner thanks to flexibility which is invaluable in small squad. Mid - If we kept Draper then that would be the biggest coup ever. Can't see it happening. Would love to see Polworth step up but he might think it's time to leave hometown club; similarly would like to see Vigurs stay but will he want to? Could be time for major restructure which is not necessarily a bad thing. Happy for Doran and Mulraney to stay IF affordable. Forwards - goes without saying I'd want Billy to stay but never happening, I guess. Would keep Fisher for sure, no issue with holding onto Boden. No insult to the player at all, but us fans still need to see why Ebbe was signed! With the exception of (possibly) McCart and (definitely) Billy, no wish to keep any of the loan players. NEW MANAGER GOES WITHOUT SAYING
  12. Was comfortable with the fact that we were going down until today, argh!! Top marks for effort all round, players did all they could to protect Esson and battled throughout the park. Haven't seen any replays at all but looked a stonewall penalty for Hamilton thanks to mix up with Warren and Esson. Very much off the hook there. Created - and missed - more chances in first half than we have thus far in total in 2017 surely. A few times where Fisher either didn't show enough urgency or just lacked in mobility/pace could have cost us. Easily best performance from Anier, how's it taken so long for him to be played there? Think we were all somewhat underwhelmed with the signing of Laing but I think he's a great find, to me he's easily the most consistent and reliable of our centre backs in last few months. Mulreanay should have been off earlier and what on earth happened with subs near end of match? Brad struggling badly and Mcnaughton set to replace him. Then King waiting to come on but called back at last minute for Mcnaughton to come on after all - time-wasting by Foran, waiting for Mulreanay to be further away before subbed? Oh and the Accies number 18 made a right t!t of himself in front of the cameras for all to see with his mortally injured routine. too comical to even boo him. As for Esson saying Tansey could have broken an effing ankle - my friend told me at time that the words used were effing a**hole Haha!
  13. First quarter of the match or so really had me believing. Ultimately both sides had chances and on balance can't complain with a draw at the end of the day, however disappointing it may seem. We seem to have a major issue with out defence. Brad definitely had a bad game last weekend but for me McCart was way worse and I really hope Brad/Josh is back next week. Yes McCart is young and short of match time, but his positioning, passing and ball winning was poor. Hopefully with time he'll come good, but in meantime subs bench imo. Esson was rusty for sure, goal number 2 seemed to go through the legs of Warren (?) then a defender plus Esson, all of whom looked to be in the line of the ball and goal. Kicking was poor (never his forte) but overall no worse than OFW in recent games, but certainly no better. Warren still seems to be below the levels of performance we know of old. Vigurs fairly stepped up, asserted himself physically from the start. Draper had a good game, Tansey was up a notch from recent performance although still not back to his best (tremendous finish for his goal) and Billy King was my motm. Anier was quietly effective without attracting headlines, and my goodness, I can't put into words how great it is to see Billy Mckay back. Showed exactly what we've been missing, hopefully in time he'll develope a dangerous relationship with Anier. Sadly keeper sussed him for second penalty - Billy waited til he made his move for first but keeper guessed correctly that he'd do exact same for second and saved easily, no pace on it. Bit disappointed to see that Tansey is dropped as penalty taker after a tremendous record with just one miss, Billy - like Rooney - had awful record with penalties for us, despite fantastic scoring stats otherwise. Plenty of positives overall but still loads to improve on and still don't know best team. Midfield and front line look like they could be OK as long as confidence stays up but defence is a worry. not a great run of games coming up but then again these are historically the ones where we unexpectedly pick up more points than forecast!
  14. I'm actually one of the seemingly few who will back vigurs today. First half he was undoubtedly the key link for us IMHO and made himself available for a pass when nobody else did. Yes he made errors but if I'm being brutal over the last few months he's shown more leadership and direction on the pitch than anyone else, never thought I'd say that. A run like ours can't be blamed on "bad luck". Yet again it could be argued by some that we didn't deserve to lose but few would hand on heart say that we deserved to win, particularly in terms of genuine chances. Subs were made timeously but ultimately they were predictable and not genuine plan b. (and I'd have taken Tansey off rather than polworth, in case anyone cares). Getting Tansey to run around with a wee bit of paper saying to put draper up front when we had probably our most attack minded bench was frankly a wee bit crap.
  15. So, Tremarco scores 2, has a clean sheet and no bookings yet probably is feeling pretty much as frustrated as ever after a game as he didn't get a hat-trick - says a lot! I absolutely agree, Foran's signings have put Hughes to shame after just a few early games. Mcnaughton is undoubtedly one of the classiest players ever seen at our club (I believe it's thanks to Esson that he's here), would love to see Andy Shinnie back but King is perfect replacement, Mulraney appears to have fantastic potential and Boden ticks all the boxes for me. Goodness knows how we'll set up our team this season. Who misses out in defence out of Warren, Meekings (assuming he's sticking around), Tremarco and Raven? How do you set up your midfield when Polworth, Vigurs Mulraney, King, Tansey, Doran and Draper all seem first team certs? And of course, who is gonna get the number 9 shirt?? What a fantastic season we've got ahead :-)
  16. Not relevant to match day, but I see none of the new signings have been allocated squad number 9 - is this a sign of a position still to be filled and potentially suggesting that it's likely to be someone likely to be a starter? Yessssss Draper!
  17. I had pretty much dismissed the talk of Malpas being assistant as easy, lazy journalism until I read this article about Foran's relationship with him and most pertinently, how Malpas prefers keeping a low profile. Got to admit I was very dubious of the thought of Malpas coming in as assistant to a former player for him and a total rookie but seems plausible. Agree with other comments about Kellacher though, I get the impression that they are close, just unsure whether he will step up to management or whether he'll continue to do a fantastic role as coach. The club/board have made their mistakes in the last year but what a turnaround in the last week. I'm as proud now to call myself an ICT fan as I was this time last year when we won the cup, and that's saying something. We've got our club "back" and we can look to the future with smiles on our faces. All the very very best to you Richie, you've earned this opportunity and I don't doubt for a minute that you'll give it absolutely everything and be a brilliant ambassador for our club and do everyone proud.
  18. Heard today (rumour, but trusted source) that the board offered to pay half of Raven's wage if he was offered a new contract but Hughes refused this, wanted him gone. No great shock, but if true shows the gulf between board and Hughes. Surely untenable. KC seemed to be chatting warmly to Raven on pitch on Saturday, no sign of any animosity there.
  19. Went into the game fearing the worst, bluntly it was a pretty dire game and not of the quality which you would expect to see in the top flight division of any country. As has been said before, we're lucky that there are other teams in our league who are equally bad/worse and although I'm fearful of our survival, there's certainly hope. I genuinely thought Richie was miles away from fitness given that he wasn't put on at all during our last couple of games but it looks like he's back, and the timing couldn't be better. Definitely gives us a glimmer of hope. Hughes evidently played up front simply on the basis that he's a very tall chap, and on that basis I don't want to be critical of his abilities, but he should never have ended the game there when we had Foran, Storey and Roberts as options. Didn't look threatening at any point of the game, but I don't doubt that he's got a lot to offer IF played in the correct position. Our makeshift defence did ok (in relation to my expectations anyway). Admittedly they were barely tested. And they conceded more than Hamilton's did... The timewasting and injury feigning antics were attrotious, summed up by Canning waving wildly to Imrie to go to the far touchline - moment later the subs board went up, no surprise that the number 7 was on it to come of... Great tribute to Ross from the fans, including the Hamilton ones.
  20. Just been down to the stadium to buy a ticket as club website says that shop is open Saturdays 9.30 - 2.30 unless stated otherwise. No sign of life, portacabin and main entrance to stadium all locked up. Not exactly overjoyed!
  21. I hear that Esson was fit and not carrying an injury, so having witnessed the game, I think it was an appalling decision not to play him. Honestly, if you had seen one particular moment in the second half when our new keeper played the ball across the goal... I've rarely seen such a lucky escape! Roberts came on and got booked within no time, Foran didn't have the fairytale comeback that we so dearly wished for. Astra lived up to all of the stereotypes of dirty European team - they were falling over like clowns. Mortally wounded clowns, who recovered in no time, I hasten to add. A harsh lesson in international football. Wedderburn looked far better in middle of park than at left back and Williams did a brilliant job at left back, very reminiscent of Shinnie. All to play for next week!
  22. I was down for 7 people, now increased to 10 :-)
  23. Sorry, I'd initially asked for 2 seats but now looking for 5, hope that's ok. Many thanks,
