On the other hand, it would be nice to see Lennon's face when we say "Sorry, we can't come to Parkhead that weekend, we've got the Oban tournament!"
-
Lennon might be missing too. he has got so much to learn to reach Oneils level. Wouldnt it be a shame if he sauntered over to Butcher after the game and in Terry eagerness to reach out and shake his hand accidentally smacked the tw#t in the mouth.
-
Its getting more like WWF was expecting Smith and McCoist to tag eachother whilst battering Lennon with a chair. It will be so funny when we beat them.
-
I would go with that if the players are available

This fixture reminded me to buy my ticket for our game, before my seat goes on sale to the general public on Friday. I bought mine over the phone and by the way the ticket office is open till 8 pm on Thursday.

It certainly is frustrating. Referees are only human, mistakes are made and you have to make allowances for that, different referees like to apply the same rules but hone in on some rules more that others for example one may like keeping the momentum of the game flowing another may frequently break up play because 'contact' was made or perhaps he fell over so there must have been contact. What ever style of refereeing was used it certainly wasnt a fair game, the ref was booed off the pitch at half time I was hoping for a vast improvement in the second half, by that I dont mean to have all decisions going our way to make amends for the first half but just to do your job and do it fairly. If a referee cant officiate a game with Honor and integrity to ensure that the game is played fairly then dont bother turning up for work.

Common sense at long last is starting to prevail, the grass will have less winter games to cope with,in theory there should be more tourists popping in to watch a game, tv revenue, as it will start before the EPL (as pointed out by Mr Doncaster) less games when fans dont have as much cash and more time to fit in canceled games at a later date, no brainer really. All we need to do now is hand over the decisions to call games off from the police regarding icy pavements to the council, roads and transport dept, they will be the wisest people to ask and if they say its not safe them its up to them to make it safe. Not sure about this missing a game because of OF friendlies/tournaments though, a smaller club will lose money having to play them mid week as a result, unless an even amount of teams have prior engagements, that would be fair as no one is being put out then. Or perhaps if a request is logged, then the team making the request forfeits a Saturday home game and that has to played mid week I dont see why smaller clubs should be punished due to an international marketing drive by one of the bigger clubs Its nice to see Mr Doncaster applying common sense and making a decision for the good of Scottish football.

Jimmy Calderwood has beaten us whilst managing several different clubs over the years. If I was given the choice between Calderwood or Butcher It would be Butcher without a doubt.

A bit p1ssed off at the game but will be back on Saturday, forever the optimist, going to bed with the thoughts that I kind of expected Utd to be higher up the table than us come the split anyway and that we are still only 4 points behind Motherwell.

Whats going on with the referees? I know they are there to do a job,to make sure that the game is played fairly and to do it with respect and integrity but whats going on. The United players only had to fall over to get a free kick, I would also put the referee down for the assist for the first goal for waving play on when our defender is fouled,Q. who is awarded the free kick usually in a 50/50 between defender and striker? A. it depends what colour shirt you wear.Certainly was the case tonight. Every dive deemed to merit a free kick. Regarding the Hibs victory how often does the winning teams fans boo the ref. I know the old firm are well into their conspiracy theory's but If money seem to be the driving force behind a change in Scottish football, the mentality seems to be, give the SPL teams enough cash and they will agree to anything, give more cash to the 1st division and they will fall in line too. Whats the referees involvement in all this, are they getting more money seeing as the tv companies seem to have endless wads of cash. I would say that since our club have stood up to the 10 team league, the decisions have more frequently gone against us. What are your views? and will referees be financially better off if the the changes take place. Is it getting to the stage where we have to send a scout to watch how the ref plays the game and set up a team to suit or will we be treated unfairly anyway as this certainly seems to be the case of late. Thoughts

I started the evening full of optimism, Russel Duncan was tiding up the balls before kick off by kicking them from distance in to the net bag for storing the balls, all on target. Terry Butcher came out all smiles and the boys on the pitch stood tall whilst the united players looked inferior, almost as if they expected to be beaten tonight. Then the whistle blew for kickoff, dont really want to say much more than that tonight.

After doing a few calculations I'm pleased to say that things arent looking that bad for us, excluding the matches involving the top 3 teams there arent that many points available for all the rest of the teams to pick up. Regardless of top six or not,I have enjoyed many games so far, relegation is a distant memory, we are still in the cup and still have the hope of a top six finish and finishing as high up the table as possible, without the pressure of expectation.

I dont see St J as a threat but I do DU and Aberdire so its important that we take the points from both of them. We dont play Aberdeen again. I dont want to go into stats and facts too much as it really is a case of one game at a time and its important to enjoy each game too. Just to keep things simple. Hibs and St Mirren have got way too much to do and cant really afford to lose a single game to be in with a shout. Aberdeen have had a bit of a revival and have been fortunate to win a few games of late but a couple of defeats and the odds are against them too and the negative goal difference will work against them, also bear in mind that if they are picking up 3 points then they are taking them off of the teams around us aswell. Kilmarnock, have gone off the boil a bit after losing some players I think we can finish higher than them. Motherwell, another team which we can finish above. United, sums up the title of the post really, the fear of United winning all of their games had even Hearts looking over their shoulder a few weeks ago, their games in hand are difficult ties and the backlog will do them in. St Johnstone I think will keep picking up points here and there. Which leaves us, theres still a few points to pick up yet but the same goes for every other team looking for 3 available places and instead of being relegated on goal difference, I think it will be just, going into the top six on goal difference instead.

Thank goodness for the league split, counting down the games till week 33, like its the end of the season and we still get another 5 more games, bonus. Happy with the 0-0 draw

announcements before kick off or half time
12th Man replied to northstandfan's topic in Caley Thistle
Just give me the details and I will shout it out. -
Sounds like a good idea. Players at some clubs have no idea how it feels to be relegated or win league cups, they may just play in the same league all their playing career and dont know about the real highs and lows of football. Funnily enough I was reading through The Inverness couriers Path to the premier league 1994-2004 last night. It mentioned our Chairman Dougie McGilvary having a bet with Tam Cowan in November 1996 that we would be an SPL club in 8 years Tams wager was a pie and Doug raised the ante to ?500, Dougie also mentioned that if Tam coughed up he would double it and donate it to charity. A Mr Scott MacKenzie also had a few things to say .Caleythistleonline.com. We usually have texters at the match who keep someone in the chatroom updated about how the game is going if it isnt carried live on the web. On a normal Saturday there might be as many as 25 users in the website chat room and it really is a global audience as some of the more regular visitors include Wanderer China, Gabby Australia, DC Weeman USA, Luv Gravy Canada, Yimp France.as well as some closer to home who just cant make it to that days game. ----------------------- There are Caley Thistle supporters all over the globe and we celebrated in all four corners of the world at the same time as the Caledonian stadium erupted when the final whistle blew on the final day of the season. Next season just cant come quick enough for Caledonian Thistle to begin its second decade. Lets hope its as successful as the first 10 years.

Just want to get a feel for where the blame lies, before Pull my finger walks away from the club and leaves them in financial ruin.

What disappoints me is that not enough players are doing a run up, somersault and throw I would like to see a few rotations before the ball is released. I would also like to see another 3 points added to the tally on Saturday and I think the latter is more important.
-
I hope the (set your personal interests aside and do it for the good of Scottish football) guilt trip isnt set upon anyone seeing as. A 10 team SPL will Reduce the amount of Scottish players per team A 10 team SPL will Reduce the amount of youngsters to be blooded in the SPL. 10 years from now the Scotland manager will be forced to select a quarter of his team from the SPL2

Dont incidences like these usually get filmed by other supporters and end up on Utube or the news.
-
Think he is referring to the surname origin and not the player. Just like if someone played in Australia with the name McMinker you could assume his name could have links to Dingwall.
-
Its funny how we all have such opposing views from watching the same game. Against a very strong physical side he held his own, he was skinning a few players yesterday, he draws players in and creates spaces elsewhere, I'm glad hes on our side.

I would like a full size head and shoulders poster of Rossco to put in my window, with the following words. WARNING THIS PROPERTY IS PROTECTED BY ROSS TOKELY.
